Excellent service and menu selections. Highly recommend
We really enjoyed this restaurant so much! The food was delicious and different in a VERY good way! In fact, we enjoyed our dinner so much that we bought the same thing again and took it to my parents that same evening so they could experience it as well! And they loved it too!
My only complaint is that the tables are so close together that we could hear everything that our neighbors were saying and everything we said to each other...…….
Our meals were delicious and beautifully presented. The only suggestion would be to rearrange the tables, as we found them to be too close. It was awkward to be privy to the conversations of the couples to both the left and right of our table.
Food is amazing as always...Josh is a wonderful host and makes great recommendations!!!
Another delicious meal at Pimienta Bistro on a quiet Sunday evening. There were only a few other diners there but service was lacking because there was only one person to handle the front of the house. The wait to be seated was long and the ordering process was delayed, but the meal was delicious and the wine was good.
It was an excellent meal and excellent service!
So we live locally, and I've realized we don't get here nearly often enough. This truly is a little gem in an area that just does not have a lot of options. No, you don't have sound views, but the food and the service far surpass expectations.
The owner/chef is truly outstanding, the menu is creative and ever-changing. My wife and I had the osso buco and pan fried scallops, rather remarkable. Plus a bottle of red that the owner blended herself at a local winery. Go Here!!! Eat great food! Be Happy!!!
My date and I have an accumulative 100+ years of dining experience. And that's what dining should be....an experience. Last night went far and above our expectations. Had we not had a schedule we might still be there sharing dessert, sipping cordialls; hoping the evening would never end.
We made reservations and not needed on a Friday evening after work. Parking is scarce.
The restaurant experience was as if they had run out of food.
1 young server for 5 tables (we were his 6th) made it difficult for him to navigate from one end to another. The young server was busy so we didn’t get acknowledged right away.
I liked the menus were on the table; easier and faster to review.
We order water with lemon wedge and he only brought 1 wedge.
Did not replenish my glass and I had my guest.
I order calamari, BAD! It was cold and dry.
My guest order paella -small portion- and did NOT look like photo on the website.
I order the Beet Salad and VERY/EXTREMELY disappointed. The small rectangular plate it came in had wilted greens “3 “ SMALL stripes of a half round size beat set on the side of the leaves. Goat cheese was not even visible crumbs neither were the glazed walnuts.
I might had just order the white rectangular plate by itself.
The server came once, asked about our meal, and never saw him again.
Once we paid and departed, no one thanked us nor waved us good bye.
Very disappointed from what I read. It was a disappointment.
Absolutely amazing food! I would definitely be coming back!
Josh was a great server the chef/owner is very engaged with customers. I cannot wait to go back
Food was unbelievable great. Live music was a nice a touch. I like the fact that the wait staff are actually the owners of the restaurant and provide the right amount of conversation to make you feel like family. I have never had a bad meal here.
The food and the service is amazing!!
This establishment is awesome! The only thing that could make it better is a nice view! Food is outstanding!
Great experience! Always a reliable choice for an enjoyable meal.
Great restaurant. Owner very friendly and spent time talking to my daughter and me. Exchanged empty creme brulee bowl for new one!!
This was my second dinner at Pimienta and I enjoyed it very much. I am glad that I gave it another try. My companion and I both enjoyed delicious meals (food and wine), the service was attentive and helpful, and the ambiance was very nice (busy but still not too loud for conversation across the table). This is a gem of a restaurant in the North Tacoma/Federal Way area. I'll definitely be back!
We are happy that you enjoyed your experience at the restaurant. Thank you for your patronage and thanks for taking the time to leave us a review. See you at the restaurant soon!
One of the best restaurants in all of south Puget Sound. Tucked away in Federal Way but worth finding
We were greeted immediately, glasses of wine showed up right away and the appetizer we ordered shortly thereafter. The food, ambiance and service were outstanding.
I personally have never had a bad meal or cocktail. Customer service is on point and the owner check on our group several times. Great overall experience.
This was my first visit to Pimienta after recently moving to the area. I will definitely return! The menu looked really appealing and my meal that night was delicious. I had the Pimienta salad, seared scallops, and a warm apple pie for dessert. The service suffered that evening though there were few diners at the time. For example, I ordered a bottle of wine and was instead brought a glass. I had plenty of time for the meal so I ended up drinking three glasses for virtually the same price as the bottle would have been (but I would have had wine left to take home with the bottle). Still I look forward to returning soon.
Very enjoyable vibe. Great food and loved the small venue.
Love Pimienta! Food is always delicious. Best restaurant in Federal Way, wish it was closer to where I live.
Excellent meal, excellent service. We have been dining at the Pimienta Bistro since it's opening several years ago and have recommended to all our friends. They also have enjoyed this establishment. The food is exceptional and not your ordinary menu. Its wonderful to try new food choices on the menu.
Small and friendly place with an eclectic and delicious menu. A bit surprising for a small strip mall in Federal Way, but the food is excellent and the service was well-timed and friendly without being intrusive.
Food was perfect!!! Chick peas are a must have! Not sure if they are finger food or not
Love this place! Service and food are spectacular. Recommend highly. We had burgers and paella. Love the vibe, so relaxing.
I was really excited to ear at pimienta, but sadly was disappointed by my experience. I sent back a dirty dish, had bacon soup with no bacon in it and the lamb dish my husband ordered was flavorless, to say the least. My husband did order a side car from the bar and said that was the best part of the night. Sorry pimienta, but for us, it was not good. I'm happy there is an upscale, Latina owned restaurant in Federal Way and really want to see more. The room was packed, so apparently folks like it. Perhaps we went on a bad night, but we will never know since we won't be back.
This was a first time visit. We were quite taken with the quaint atmosphere, The service was very friendly. The food was very good.
This was our 2nd visit and enjoyed it again
Awesome everything! We were amazed we had not heard about the place earlier...we've been missing out.
We had not been to Pimiento in several years, although we live 8 minutes away. In the past when we went, we ordered a glass of wine and they were pretty stingy with the pours. This time we ordered a bottle, which is a better value anyway. We didn't quite finish it all but we were allowed to cork it and take it home. The food was very good! My husband had the paella and I had the mesquite grilled scallops and prawns. The seafood was quite fresh and the food arrived piping hot. The servings were pretty generous. We'll definitely go back after this experience!
We had 8 of us celebrating my bday . Many had to drive hour or so , but said it was well worth it . Food was delicious, quite impressed with the diverse menu . Will definitely come back
A family run restaurant that was a great treasure of a find. Wonderful service and fantastic food!! We will be back.
Good was amazing wait staff was not the best but the food was amazing!
Another excellent dinner. Quaint restaurant. Family owned and operated... owner and staff are friendly, however service may be a bit slow, due to minimal staffing.
Great find first time there worth the trip to try.
Food was amazing! Josh did a great job of managing the restaurant .. it was unexpectedly very busy, so everyone was pitching in! Nice to see the collaboration. Food was delicious and piping hot... the new Malbec/Sarah rose was a perfect compliment too!
As many reviews have previously said, "don't be fooled by this restaurant being in a small plaza next to a nail salon". The food was delicious and the service was impeccable. The only problem we had was choosing what great plates and drinks to order off the menu. We will definitely be returning.
What an incredible find! Not in the vicinity often, but we liked it so much we may go out of our way to revisit. Charming interior. We were lucky enough to have chef/owner at our table assisting us with our choices. Warm and personable, she clearly takes pride in her work - deservedly so. Good variety of cocktails, some with real flair, but without the pretentiousness of most places these days. Every menu item is intriguing - wanted to try all the appetizers. Settled on pork belly, ahi, and queso melt. All exceeded our expectations. Licked the plates clean. Entrees are equally well executed with a nice balance of flavors. Pork loin is extremely difficult to get right. This one was perfectly done. Huge portion, shared with my companions. All raved. Same for scallops. The prices are downright reasonable for the quality of ingredients and preparation. Hats off to the chef.
