Pilot House Natchez
Delicious food, awesome service and the view of the river was beautiful.
One of the worst meals we've ever had. Everything was horribly overcooked, from our salmon, to the veal, to the angel hair pasta, to the potatoes. A waste of money.
My wife's birthday. Food and drinks were fantastic. Hospitality was warm and inviting
The view is wonderful of the Mississippi but the room/hotel itself is severely lost in the 1970's. And no its not retro-chic.
Lighting was bright, furnishings...well, lets not go there.
That being said the service at the bar and restaurant was very attentive.
They were really working hard.
The food is good......I had the duck and it was very good. The grits...with a touch of what smoked gouda was great. The brussel sprouts needed a few more minutes in the pan.
Its just the atmosphere with that great view could be fixed up and draw some more people.
We'd go again for the service and food.
We made reservations online and arrived at the appointed time. A server passed by us and told us to “sit anywhere”. We found a table and our waiter arrived promptly. He was attentive and provided good service. The appetizer was very bland and the salad was, let’s just say it wasn’t up to the caliber of the appetizer.
The entrees (filet and the duck) were both surprisingly well prepared and tasty.
Overall, the restaurant is suppose to be casual/fine dining and it’s not even close. The service was good and the location offers a lovely view but the food isn’t worth the trip.
The filet and mashed potatoes were perfectly prepared and very tasty.
Food was absolutely outstanding. Service was terrible, on every level lol, but that does not discredit the restaurant. The duck breast was fantastic! Filet, great! Pecan Pie with ice cream was the best I have ever had! Ribeye, decent but the rest was wonderful. Even my daughters fries with her chicken had a seasoning on them that made us all continuously steal them from her
Great food selection, beautiful view, the kitchen was slow we was there for a birthday dinner half of party was done eating before everyone’s food came out. I would do again just not with a group .
We each ordered the fried chicken dinner. The chicken was almost black and it was pink inside. It was like it had been cooked at a very high temperature. The skin/crust was extremely garlicky. I showed the under cooked chicken to our waitress and she said she would let the kitchen know, but no one offered any kind of discount, nor an apology. The waitress was very attentive, but the food was horrible. I would never eat there again.
Outstanding brunch including shrimp and grits and chicken and waffles. Beautiful view from the dining room. Highly recommend.
Service is horrible no training and no management
Food was excellent went twice food brought us back. Service was horrible people were not train and management was missing
We never even got to sit down. We made reservations for 7pm. We got there at 6:45. There was no hostess. There were 2 bartenders behind the bar who saw us. They never even acknowledged us. Never said hello or we will be right with you. My husband even approached the bar and they totally ignored him !!! We left after 10 min of this and went to a much better restaurant!
1 Waitress lacked skills. We asked twice for utensils, meal came still no utensils.
2. They were out of filets so requested ribeye if not much fat, otherwise let me know. She did not and nothing but fat. My husband even tried to find SOME lean meat. I sent it back.
3 The entire time the manager complained about another patron who wanted service outside which they provide. Hardly anyone in the place but service was so bad.
4 My husband and I washed our hands after looking at the menu. There were no paper towels in either restroom.
5. Our bill was incorrect and had to be fixed.
6. Took 2 hours of our time for a terrible experience.
The view was the only thing we enjoyed.
We had a great dinner, the noise level was family of six whose parents let their two young boys chase each other around the tables, just weird that the staff nor parents nipped that behavior in the bud!
Requested window view when making reservation but on arrival it was apparent it was “sit where you like” . Our party disappointed we weren’t able to sit and enjoy the spectacular window view as those tables were taken. Otherwise we enjoyed our visit and would recommend to others .
The food was excellent. The view is breath taking
Solid menu, good food, great views. Service is slow but they are always nice and kind. It’s a great place to go for a quiet dinner.
The food was good the steak was a little overcooked and the prices were a little high but we expected that
Beautiful view of the Mississippi. Very attentive staff. Excellent food. Couldn't believe the restaurant wasn't packed based on our exceptional experience. This would be our favorite, go-to-restaurant, if we lived in Natchez.
It was Valentine’s Day and they were slammed. Got seated 30 min after our reservation. Very noisy that just and staff seemed a little lost and chaotic. Food was goo however
My wife and I did not have a good experience the night that we went. There was a very large party in the lounge area that had most of the staff occupied. Service was incredibly slow. Our food was overcooked and very dry. That said, I would like to believe that it was just the crowd in the lounge that caused our night to be less than stellar.
The view from the restaurant to the Mississippi River would be better during daylight. The lights from the interior of the restaurant reflected on the windows making seeing the river difficult at best. It would be a great view during the day, though.
Great! Lovely place
Was very noisy in the am from breakfast. Was very clean and the cleaning staff and wonder was very nice.
New Year’s Eve
New Years Eve dinner
What a great choice! My wife and I enjoyed this restaurant, it's service, food selection and experience.
Really good food and reasonably priced. Decent Wine list too.
Crab cakes were great, service excellent, beef tips left a little to be desired, view was enjoyable.
Absolutely loved Pilot House! Excellent food and service. Enjoyed the Beautiful view while dining.
The atmosphere is casual and relaxing. The views are fantastic. The food is outstanding!! We will definitely be going back.
The waitstaff were rude and could not provide helpful information about the menu. Each question we asked went unanswered because "they didn't know". We hoped the food would make up for the poor service.. Boy, were we wrong. We ordered a blackend ahi tuna (rare) and a seared ducks breast (rare). The ahi came out with a sprinkling of seasoning, not blackened, and tasteless. The duck was served raw, extremely under seasoned, and was impossible to cut due to its rubberiness. The skin of the duck was not rendered and crispy.. It looked like it never touched the frying pan. This was possibly the Worst resturaunt experience we have ever had. Over the last few days, we have had many individuals tell us they had a similar experience and will never return. My heart hurts that I can not post an exciting review, I was really looking forward to a wonderful evening and the opportunity to brag about this resturaunt, unfortunately that's not the case.. 😔
Read in some reviews that the food was not up to standards. That was NOT the case with us. We ordered the grilled pork chop and the duck dishes. They both were outstanding and I was very surprised based on what I had read.
I would recommend this restaurant to anyone!! Great view, nice ambiance and the food we received was outstanding..
Dining with freinds
Overall wonderful experience.! The staff was very professional and hospitable and the food was excellent.
Food and view was amazing! Staff was very attentive.
The view of the river was magnificent. The food and service were very good. We were expecting a more formal atmosphere but the clientele were mostly hotel guests, dressed in everything from covered-up swimwear to shorts and flops.
Went for 4th if July, food was okay but the view was really great
