Pikk's used to be a favorite of ours but lately the food quality seems to have taken a turn for the worse. Specifically, the brussels spouts were mushy and slimy and the burgers were just ok. I mentioned the brussels sprouts to the waitress whose response was, "huh...they just bought them this morning". She obviously did not understand that it was the preparation that made them that way. We will probably take a break from Pikk's for a while.
My wife started with a shrimp cocktail, which she loved and loved the presentation also. We both had half a slab of ribs, me with home made mac & cheese (delicious) and her - red smashed potatoes. Matthew the waiter, very gracious and attending, put together two grenadine tinted cokes for us. (non alcoholic drinkers).
The bread that came before dinner was also fantastic and the butter was seasoned just right. Ribs fell off the bones and sauce was perfect. Good portions!
Also, NO ROOM FOR DESERT. Main course was so right, we couldn't possibly have eaten desert. Haha. 5 star dining.
Excellent meal with my sweet husband Thursday night. Dining outside is intimate & lovely. Already forgot our servers name but she was absolutely great. Didn't try to rush us. Much appreciated. The cedar planked Salmon, creamed spinach and pork chop were divine. We will definitely be back.
My picky fiancé told me that was the best dinner she had in a year. The chopped salad was huge, we split it, and all of the ingredients made it very flavorful. She loved the bread, her fish and chips, and we split a coconut cream pie. I had the salmon and it was cooked to perfection.
My burger was overcooked and although the waiter offer to have it remade, I told him to not worry about it. I have yet to have a piece of meat from here that wasn't overcooked. (Chicken usually comes out dry and hard.)
The best thing on the menu is the chopped salad with the Green Goddess dressing--to die for! But skip adding the meat, it will be cooked to a crisp.
Let me preface by saying we loved Pikk's when we first came. The steaks were great, service is always great, and the atmosphere is nice. Ever since our first time there we've had a problem with consistency of the food. This last time we also tried to BBQ ribs and the sauce is incredibly unconventional and not good. We have tried too many times to return and still can't get the same meal that we did our first time. Unfortunately we may not be returning but it's still a great place when it's having a great night. 🙁🙁
I've been here before and ate lunch outside with a friend and it was fantastic Last Summer! So that same friend and I got together again many months later and had dinner and side and it was just as great the wait staff is fantastic very attentive and very friendly! I recommend this place to everyone
Enjoyed our visit. Graduation weekend gathering dinner Great way to start the weekend. Due to events in town our group had some trouble arriving. Staff very patient and gave good service and good recommendations. We loved the pork baroque sandwich w cole slaw and the salad was also delicious.
Food was great. Service, not so much..... although in all fairness it WAS Mother's Day. Server never mentioned the complimentary buffet. Also he never came to our table to check if everything was all right. Had to flag him down to get the check after sitting there for close to 20 minutes once our plates had been removed. We'll give it one more try when it isn't a holiday.
Our waiter was friendly and helpful. The food was edible, but could have been much better. My salad didn't taste fresh, and was almost tasteless. They didn't have dinner rolls, even with the salad. The shrimp diablo ok. Both dinners were not worth the price we paid.
We are going to give this restaurant a second chance. We chose an appetizer ( Nachos) they were out of at 7p. Then one of the main entrees they were out of. The salmon was cold and raw in the center. It's my understanding they are new. So we will give them another try in a few months.
My girlfriend and I went there to try a special "restaurant week" menu that consisted of an appetizer, entree, and dessert. While we both agreed that the food was good, we also were in agreement that the three choices didn't really "go" well together. We went around 8:00pm and had a very good time. I would recommend this restaurant and I personally look forward to going back.
