We booked a family outing to Piggyback and couldn’t have been happier with our experience Sadly, it was a quiet night there, due to the apprehension regarding dining out right now The waitstaff paid special attention to offering extra serving utensils, and to keeping everything clean.
The food was delicious, and the interplay of flavors and textures made the experience interesting.

Piggyback is a pioneer on this forgotten block on W 30th Street. From the outside it appears to be an unassuming hideaway amid parked police cars and scaffolding. Inside is a buzzing and hip restaurant and bar. The quirky interior design is inviting and inventive. Diners are encouraged to explore the different rooms and to have fun.

The menu is a bit limited and leans toward comfort over health. However, everything that came to table was well-made and delicious. Plan on sharing because the kitchen sends the food out as it is prepared.

Piggyback has great food and a really fun atmosphere. The menu has a lot of fun and interesting selections and everything is executed so well. The plates are not "large" and so it was really manageable for me. My date ended up wanting more for his main course, but he's a big eater so that was expected! The staff is really helpful and nice. Five stars!

I've been a big fan of Pig & Khao for years, so not surprised the food at their next venture, Piggyback NYC was delicious. Loud hip-hop blares, so if you may need to raise your voice over the table. Lumpia is $14 for 4 small pieces so a bit overpriced, but comparable to NYC restaurant prices in general. Meat-heavy menu so Vegans/Vegetarians/Pescatarians may wanna check the menu first. Overall, definitely worth it!

This place is such a find! The service was excellent - everyone that helped us was attentive and knowledgeable. The cocktails were well-crafted and delicious and the food was amazing. Great ambiance as well. The bar area is welcoming and has a very relaxed vibe, although the food and drink are elevated. Great experience, highly recommend!

Service was very disappointing. I informed our server that I can not eat spicy foods which I assumed he understood. We ordered the lumpia and S & P Shrimp and it WAS very spicy even for my husband who can tolerate spicy food! The menu should be updated to include something to specify how spicy an entree is on their menu!

We were seated in the back, where it is quite a large space with high ceilings. The drinks were great, tasted just as they were described. We ate the tar tar and spring rolls, which both were pretty good/average. We also shared the duck, which unfortunately came to the table room temperature/cold. We were competed our drinks which was nice, but the duck was something we were looking forward to. Wanted to check out their second location after eating at Pig & Khao and being such fans, but felt a little underwhelmed and I think understand this location to be a little more low-brow, Midtown bar food customer. I will stick to Pig & Khao from now on.

Never bad to learn a new restaurant across the street from your hotel is linked to the people behind Pig & Khao. The layout is very similar to what it was when it was Till & Sprocket. Narrow and loud. But also nicely energetic. Friendly, professional service. The menu is creative--but not as extensive as Pig & Khao. We tried the wings (excellent), the tuna tartare (very good), the wanton noodle dish (okay) and the crudo (good). Enjoyed all of them and will definitely go back on future trips.

The only negative experience was the cocktails. Creative menu, but the drinks themselves were nearly undrinkable. The Three Guarantees was really sour, The Cafe Banana tasted mostly like coffee cynar--wouldn't have known it had mezcal if it wasn't listed. Finally, tried the Wing Sauce in hopes it might be better. It was the worst of the 3. Tasted like a glass of melted brown butter.

So go for the food and service, drink the wine or beer.

This was our 2nd time visiting the restaurant. We were so impressed the first time, we had to come back the next week. The manager recognized us and thanked us for coming back again so soon. He sent out a complimentary order of charred edamame to show his appreciation, which was very nice. The edamame was very good, it was deliciously buttery. We sat in the middle room this time and it was a little quieter than the bar area. Our waiter was very nice. He did a great job of explaining the menu and highlighting popular dishes, which I'm sure first-time diners would appreciate. We had to have the crudo again because it was so good. It didn't disappoint. The tartare was also very good but it wasn't unique like the crudo. The lumpia was excellent. The skin was paper thin and crispy and not oily. The cha ca la vong was also very good though not what we had expected. I think the best comparison is to that of a Vietnamese bun bowl but on a plate. The texture of the fish was unexpected, I think it might have been sou vide but it was delicious. The coconut rice was amazing! It was slightly sweet and had a lot of coconut flavor without being oily. Finally, we had the lamb rendang. The curry sauce was very good and the roti was the perfect accompaniment to soak up the sauce. The coconut rice was also very good with the curry sauce. The lamb was very tender. Overall, another great experience! We hope to be back soon to try more dishes.

Food was fantastic. Really good and very flavorful. Service was pretty bad though. We had both our appetizers and one entree before our cocktails even came. One cocktail had so much ice that it was above the rim of the glass while there was only about 80% liquid. After waiting for my entree for 15 minutes I asked our waiter and he told me it was coming. 5 minutes later he came back and told me everything is prepared with the idea that we would share and that’s why the entree hadn’t come out yet (would have been nice to know). 5 minutes more, food comes. So 25 minutes just for some noodles. We had to ask for the check twice before we got it. Again food amazing...service very bad. Still worth it.

Ate here on a recent Saturday evening with my husband and it was DELICIOUS! Made the rez online which was quick & easy. We were seated right away towards the back of the restaurant which is the main dining room. There are front high tables once you enter, a long bar with tables opposite, then the back dining room and even a super large area past that which seems to be a more loungy cocktail chill area. The waiter was great & so was the support staff. The cocktails were great and the menu selection and food were top notch. Really a good selection of the vast different types of Asian cuisine all in one restaurant. I'd HIGHLY recommend dining here!

Love this place! Cool space, delicious food and great service. They also play great music. Our server was wonderful. She was very friendly and outgoing. My BF is gluten free so she was able to steer us away from dishes which contained gluten and if there was any uncertainty, she was very happy to ask the kitchen. The food was flavorful and nuanced. Most of the dishes had a little kick to it but it was not overwhelmingly spicy where you couldn't enjoy the food. We had the crudo, which was amazing! I cannot recommend it enough. We also had the smoked mussels. It wasn't what I had expected but it was good nonetheless. The dish was served with the mussels out of its shell in a spicy sauce. The choeng chee see ew was outstanding! The rolled rice noodles were crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. I have never had such textures. It was so good. We also had the Hainanese duck. Another incredible dish. The duck fat rice cake was out of this world! I could have eaten multiple bowls of this rice. The duck was also cooked perfectly. We had so much fun! The whole staff was very friendly, which made the experience so enjoyable. We are definitely coming back.

Outstanding experience. We are big fans of Pig and Khao and we’re ecstatic this place opened. The food was unique and flavorful. Even if you are non pork-eaters (like us) piggyback has an amazing selection. Our favorite was the Choeng Cher See Ew - perfect crunch and taste. We also ordered the oki toast, Brussels sprouts and Naki Nemak. Every dish was so unique and full of flavor. Definitely my new go-to spot!

Great place for Asian Fusion! Food was outstanding! I can see this place being a hit!
Staff was excellent with knowledge of wine list, beer selection, menu, origin of dishes and overall conversation.
Back bar/dining area construction wasn't completed yet but, waitress showed us the space-it will most certainly rock-mark my words!!!
