I asked for no cilantro on my meal; that was ignored. We asked for split checks; got that wrong as well.
The food was delicious and the cocktails were divine. The view was beautiful. Service was knowledgeable of the menu and had good recommendations. Loved it!
Severs need to some more courageous, food was okay.
Good location with great views. Busy and loud inside a new complex. Asian fusion foods a bit too sweet. Came for restaurant week but apparently entire party must order on it otherwise we go a la carte. Pretty sure that’s now how it works. It’s like saying you can now only order on the special menu now if one of your guest wants to. Ended up spending double what we thought was supposed to be a budget night out. Our waiter left after taking the main order. Left for the rest of the night and no one told us until there was an issue with the bill.
Went during restaurant week. The chicken sandwich with curry sauce was absolutely fabulous. Eagerly awaiting going back to order it again.
Awesome. Food, location, service was top notch. I highly recommend.
Piggyback Bar has excellent food and nice service. The whole wait staff was very attentive and the food was top notch- from the rich scallion pancake quesadilla to the nicely portioned and super flavorful Fisherman's Stew to the fresh ricotta donuts. The only thing I didn't love was the space itself- a little bit odd to be in an wall-less restaurant in the lobby of an office complex- but I could see it being a fun spot to meet up for happy hour after work! I would definitely come back.
Amazing food from Chef Leah Cohen. Different food and environment from Pig and Khao, but still, amazing food and drinks. Happy hour specials available and you just can’t beat the views of NYC from this restaurant as you are literally located directly across on the Hudson River and staring directly at the World Trade Center/ Lower Manhattan.
Best lumpia I have had in a while. Keep up the inventive cuisine.
Convenient location right opposite Harborside Light rail station,, and near Exchange Place Path station. Restaurant is inside Harborside financial centre, so we didn't know about this place until now even though we live close by. Beautiful view of Manhattan. The food was good - Creme Brulee French toast was excellent. Chicken ramen was good, apart from the broth being too spicy for me (the menu did not indicate it would be mildly spicy). Food was creative and well executed. We're glad we found this restaurant and will be back!
I had high expectations after seeing some favorable reviews, but wasn’t too happy with the mall setting. Our server was nice but slow. Food was good. Especially the pulled pork dish. Definitely more of a bar than restaurant.
Great experience. Think about expanding and including the pig and khao menu beyond the bar food. I believe you will attract an even larger weekend crowd
PHO-ries were amazing!! Cant wait to back and order those again. The fried calamari was a little fishy and the wings were very spicy!!
Fresh and tasty food. Try the ricotta donuts for dessert! GREAT view. Great service. Strong drinks. Relaxed vibe.
The food was crazy awesome, as were the drinks!! The Korean honey butter wings and the 5 spice chicken liver paté with cherry chutney, we're both amazing! The cocktails are not your run of the mill - The Harborside Boulevard, with coffee infused Cynar was spectacular, and Hurricane Shandy hit just the right notes with ginger, lemon and orange! This restaurant is in a business and residential building on the waterfront in Jersey City. The views are spectacular, and it would be a great date spot except that the music is very loud in the front part of the bar. There is a seating area in the rear that's at least quiet enough that you can talk over the beat of the booming bass tones. I would highly recommend this for the food alone, and find that we are willing to come back for the food as long as we can get a seat in the rear where we were before.
Great view, food & service! Tried a little bit of everything on the menu and highly recommend the chicken roasted mami, phories (fries), French toast, and the wings.
Food was tasty. Limited selection. Worth a visit if you're in the area.
Great food and stellar service. Only complaint was the music was extremely loud/noisy and not very atmospheric. Very noisy house music and not as conducive to nice conversations.
The location is smart, and also convenient right inside the harborside financial center at exchange place. Close to the path station, and incredible day to night views of Manhattan across the Hudson. Piggyback is definitely a great new addition to the Jersey City food scene. Food was delicious, I’d choose it over many other locations in JC...although at times I felt the flavors were pushed a little too much. The butter chicken wings were just a teaspoon too emphasized on the butter but the flavor was still amazing. I think the flavors could be a little more subtle, the main ingredient is pushed so much it takes away from the dish at times. Drinks were good, but there were a few fruit flies hanging around our table and unfortunately one flew in my drink toward the end of our meal with only a few sips left. Music is a little too loud inside and made conversation hard at times, but the DJ was awesome and had a great mix. Can be a little pricey, but the happy hour deals are one of the best in the area. Overall I think Piggyback is a great spot, a few kinks to iron out, but definitely a new gem in town. Can’t beat the view.
I had dinner with guests from out of town. Everyone enjoyed the food and there was a nice selection of wine and drinks. I highly recommend the outdoor seating as it provides a lovely view of the NYC skyline. The indoor seating would be fine if you do not mind the loud music.
First time visited this place. Got amazing Manhattan view from NJ side. If you are looking for a place to drink, quick bite and enjoy the view. You should give it a try. However, I found the food the over priced with little amount. If you are looking for a place to eat, then you should think twice. The food is great but very little amount.
I would NOT recommend this restaurant. The food was inedible for most of our party of four - just awful. Very loud - even though we sat outside. The continuos rap music was horrendous. It's a good thing we sat outside because I can't imagine how loud it is inside. The view is beautiful and the service was good . That is the only reason it is getting an over generous 2.
I was really looking forward to this place for the cocktails and food. Unfortunately the cocktails seemed extremely watered down. I had “this drink is mine” and it was merely booze flavored. Gf had some peach drink that was also light on booze. Not sure if it was poor ice cube choice in my drink but was definitely disappointed on the drinks. The food on the other hand was excellent. Just did apps to share but they were all great. Almost ordered a second plate of the beef tartar it was that good.
