Love the food here!! So sorry to see this little gem disappear.
Food was absolutely delicious! The burrata and the patte were phenomenal!
The food was amazing. We had the Siracha buffalo wings and the Disco Phories. Super delicious. To top this off, we had outside seating that was overlooking the Manhattan skyline. Fun, Affordable, and Friendly.
Service was very slow. We ended up asking them to take the ribs off of our order because we never received it and didn’t want to be there all night. Calamari was not worth $15 for portion and the dish itself wasn’t impressive.
Great spot with views and delicious food
Servers were hard to find and it wasn’t crowded, what gives?
Something different- skirt steak was good but not much for the price
The restaurant was nice however, the service was terrible. My boyfriend and I visited The Piggy Back bar since it was listed as participating in Hudson restaurant week. Our server forgot about us twice, he asked us if we were waiting for dessert while we were waiting (for a while) for our entrees. A manager came out to apologize and offered to pay for our drinks... but when we ordered drinks, they never came lol. The food was good and we may visit again but, definitely not for a weekenddinner date. I'm guessing the Piggy Back Bar would be best enjoyed on a
I enjoyed my experience and I would return and recommend to a friend. Three of us sat outside on beautiful summer evening and enjoyed the restaurant week menu. It was mostly delicious. The dessert was a bit bland and I would have liked a 3rd bun for my Steak Bao. For the price, it felt more like a lunch portion. The Brussels Sprouts were out of sight and the froze was good and refreshing. I'd return to just to drink froze and eat brussel sprouts! Although the staff was very nice and attentive, they were forgetful on a few things. For instance, a friend had to request her side order of rice multiple times. Also, I think you should NOT allow diners to bring their dogs/pets. We seemed to be surrounded. One one side, a large dog barked throughout the evening. Then, 3 tables down, a woman had her dog seated in a chair. Later, she brings her dog to do his business right in front of our table and well away from her table. I was thoroughly disgusted at her entitlement and poor taste. In general, businesses need to curb this (service animals only) because it's getting out of hand in Jersey City.
The stunning waterfront view was everything, and we really appreciated the hostess accommodating our request for a table by the windows. The food was very good and everyone was pleased with the dishes. The table service was disappointing: the person who took our drink order must have been new and training because he asked "what kind of soda" my husband wanted when he asked for a vodka/soda (he also had no idea what seltzer or Perrier meant - we finally had to say "fizzy water"), and then our assigned server was nice but not very attentive and we had to flag him down a few times (empty drinks, paying the bill, etc.). Overall a good experience and worth going back.
OMG, The Pat LaFrida burger was AWESOME. It was my first visit to Piggyback Bar. My friend and I both enjoyed our time there and the food was delish, will definitely return there. The waiters were very attentive and friendly. I highly recommend going there.
This is a place to hangout after work with amazing views, delicious food and drinks. All good except the disinterested Maitre D who seem to have a bad day going through her work with no eye contact and smile. The waitress and rest of staff are friendly and provide excellent service.
Piggyback Bar offers a limited bar bites type of menu, but what stands out is that each bit is awesome. We almost ordered one of each item on their menu and loved them all. The corndogs and Korean wings were my favorite.
Also nice is a wide selection of draft beers, many of which are local. And the view... Spectacular!
The scenery of the city is unreal! Our server was very tentative and everyone’s food was delicious! We thought with the wonderful view we may need to compromise on food quality but that was not the case and the prices were very reasonable.
This is American food with Asian influences. Generally, the food was tasty although the bass fish was a very small cut for the price. Salads and burgers were much more substantial portion size and the appetizers were delicious. The restaurant has a nice view of the Hudson and NYC skyline, and we received attentive service. Overall, it was a good experience.
Father’s Day and birthday
We used to really like Piggyback bar, but like it less so now. The food is overly salty, and the service is hit or miss.
Very good happy hour offerings all week. Outdoor seating weather permitting. And even when seated outside, service coverage was consistent and great.
The view of lower Manhattan is fantastic with their outdoor seating, but service can be a bit slow. It's not a problem though when you're having a leisurely meal.
Great food in a terrific location in Jersey City, overlooking the Manhattan skyline. The burgers are out of this world.
Everything I had was delicious
Good food, courteous staff, great ambiance, convenient location
The bar tenders service was sub par but the waitress and the delicious food redeemed itself.
Love this place! The view is amazing. The food is absolutely delicious! We had out of town guests and the LOVED it too!
Ambiance was beautiful outside. Food was good but disappointed by how much steak you get with the bao buns.
Great spot for brunch!
This is our third time to Piggyback Bar. This time the food was very salty (compared to same orders other times). The hot ciders were so-so and the setting was very noisy. We will not go back.
My sisters and I go here a lot, but this last visit was an utter disappointment. I’m sure it’s a fluke and hope my next visit is amazing. We sat there 30 mins waiting for someone to even come back with our drinks. We came in for Brunch at 2pm and didn’t leave till 5. Not our normal experience. I hope I don’t have to cut it from my faves.
Server could be friendlier, she seemed very angry from the beginning and unapproachable.
Consistently good service and food
We have eaten at Piggyback Bar multiple times for lunch, happy hour and dinner as well. This was our first brunch experience at Piggyback and it did not disappoint! We had the onion petal appetizer as well as the honey butter wings(WE LOVE THESE!), both were great! I had the longanisa bowl which was EXCELLENT, great blend of ingredients with the egg, cucumbers, crispy sausage and delicious rice! The only thing I did not like at all, was the Smokey Mary, their version of a Smokey Bloody Mary. It tasted watered down, almost no tomato juice and just was not appetizing. Service was good, we will definitely be back!
Had a great time! Great meal!!
The edamame was delicious. Staff was terrific. Did not like the fluorescent lighting. But view was nice.
Great time with excellent food, service was on point prices were fair. The View of New York was incredible. This is an awesome place for a date night or just to hang out with friends
The edamame is the BEST. Everything we’ve had has been super delicious. The sriracha wings are spicy- but sooo tasty!
The happy hour menu is worth the trip. Only comment the music is too loud that makes it hard to talk, instead I feel like we are screaming to each other.
Great food, particularly the pulled pork sandwich and burger, and excellent value for a Restaurant Week special.
The food was good and I enjoyed my meal up until the end. The tables are very close together and I accidentally bumped into the table next to me as I was trying to get by- just because it was tight, I hadn't been drinking. The table was empty but there were glasses on it and I accidentally knocked over a glass and it broke. I apologized to the waitress but she wasn't having it at all. She was very annoyed at me and looked like I had ruined her whole night. I was really sorry and I did apologize, but accidents happen. It seemed like overkill to me for a waitress to be that upset at me over one broken glass.
Disco phories are worth the trip alone! Everything we had was delicious I will definitely be visiting again!
We saw this place from Fios Cable channel and seems interesting to check out. The View and Restaurant were nice. Food is so so. I ordered their ribs, which I find a little bitter and salty, My friends ordered the Burgers and Lobster Sandwich, which is okay, but nothing spectacular about it. Grain Salad was good and the Salt and Pepper Shrimp appetizer were also good. The Fries comes with the burgers was also good. We may consider coming back just because of the place. Excellent Location.
