   What happened to the pork belly ?? It used to just fall apart and so moist. Now overcooked and dry. So disappointed as I promised my international visitors the "best pork belly in town" Brownies still good but very sweet. Very disappointing visit

   Was just the feel we were going for- old English pub! Hearty food & great selection, cosy atmosphere, authentically English aesthetic. Staff seemed a bit harried & not a lot of table service unless we caught their eye. Probably cos it was so wonderfully busy. All in all, a great experience for our English loving family.

    Having previously been to the Pig and Whistle and loved our experience, we felt confident bringing my mother here a week before Mother's Day for a lunch. We sat down and were immediately asked what we wanted to eat. We wanted a few minutes which our waitress gave us begrudgingly. She returned a few minutes later to take our order. The room was less than half full at this point. My partner asked for her gravy on the side of her Bangers and Mash. We were told substitutions were not possible. We pointed out it wasn't a substitution, just the gravy on the side. We were refused. AFTER being refused, the waitress yelled to the kitchen to see if it was possible and snarkily said, 'don't shoot the messenger.' (We had never indicated we were angry with her - we've both worked in retail and wouldn't do it.) What followed was constant badgering to order our next round, next drink, and get out. I'd never felt this unwelcomed before. I ended up ordering a pie and mash so my partner could have her Bangers without drowning it in gravy. The mash was dry, though the pie was delicious. The mulled wine was tasty but $12 a pop. Then, to add insult to injury, though I wouldn't have cared in the past with good service, there is a compulsory additional fee for paying on card. Even though it was $140, I had to pay more.
