Pietro's Italian Restaurant
His philosophy served him well with his previous Sarasota businesses. Café Gabbiano located on Siesta Key was originated by the Migliaccio family in 2003 where is four sons grew in and out of the restaurant business.
A second venture in downtown Sarasota was opened and designed by Pietro in 2012 named Casantica, a small old house converted to a quaint homey restaurant. Both restaurants are now under new ownership.
Now, this small intimate place is where I can have fun serving and meeting new friends. Benvenuti.
The BEST Italian restaurant in Sarasota County. Pietro treats you like family
Pietro’s never disappoints! The food, service, and ambiance always reminds me of Italy. We enjoy every aspect of our meals and look forward to our return!!
Everything about the game vending was special. From our opening greeting at the door, too the relaxed atmosphere, to the friendly waiter and of course the wonderful food.
Pietro is an amazing chef. Fantastic “real Italian.”
His wife Susan is a perfect hostess.
Marco and Elena are fabulous servers.
The room is the most attractive in Sarasota.
Reservations are a must: Pietro’s has been discovered!
From the moment you walk in the door..the unique decor, ..the friendly, knowledgable, staff,...the menu,...the food,...it is a very nice experience...thank you!
We liked the restaurant very much. Nice ambiance and not too noisy. It was a busy Saturday so service was a bit slow but that was ok as we were enjoying our company and our dinner.
So happy Peter and Susan and Marco are back into business! We have missed them. The food, the service everything was wonderful. Marco selected a bottle of wine for us , we trust him totally on selecting wine. It was so good we ordered 2 for the table. We will return as fast as we can!
Great experience. Great wine off the menu. Sat in back room and it was nice. Like the ambience better in main room. Will be back soon.
I consider myself an Italian foodie having experienced the finest in NYC and Italy. Pietro’s compares favorably with all of them. Quality of food is outstanding. Veal dishes are among the best prepared. Service is also excellent. We will return!
This is a marvelous restaurant, from the time you enter until you leave, very satisfied. The food is wonderful as is the service. Treat yourself to a terrific evening!
Filet of sole Frances was delicious as was the fagoli soup. We sat in a room that was crowded and noisy as one women had a really high pitched voice. Ceilings are low and room is tight. We chose to move to the bar which was great.
Husband wasn’t feeling well so we will try again on his next trip home!
I have eaten at Pietro’s before with no problem. But, this time things were different. Our service was extremely slow. The table was too small for 4 because the plates are so big. The food was just good. It is a popular place and crowded so the noise level was high. Because of our experience that night, to their credit, they realized their mistakes and compensated us. I was disappointed in the experience that night. With so many restaurants in the area, I will probably not go back for a long time.
Wonderful new Italian restaurant! Friendly and attentive. Best veal in a very long time! Can’t wait to go back!
Smal and cozy.
Good food. Informative staff. Sweet, small cozy. A bit on the expensive side, but the food did not disappoint.
Pietro’s by far is the best Italian restaurant outside of Italy! The Italian cuisine and atmosphere are reminiscent of an Italian restaurant southern Italy.
The restaurant is decorated quite beautifully. The owners and staff were so attentive and friendly. They went out of their way to help make a birthday celebration extra special. And most importantly, the food was delicious!!
You’d have to go to Ischia to get food as good as this!
A new owner restaurant. A hidden gem. The best authentic Italian food in a city of many many restaurants. I felt like I was in Italy again. staff is over the top wonderful and owner has a great selection of many good wines. You won’t be disappointed. Can’t wait to get back.
Pietro's is a very good restaurant. The food was excellent.....chicken franchise ( not an easy dish to make), grouper, salad. The service was prompt and efficient. The host/owner could not have been more accommodating and personable . I have two personal pet peeves that prevented me from rating Pietro's higher . The tables for two are simply too small and too close together. Also, there are too many tables jammed into this space and we did not feel totally at ease. My second peeve ( and I realize this is personal ) is that I asked for my pasta side dish to be served with garlic and oil. I was told that it could only be served with marinara saucer. I am sorry but any Italian restaurant worth its salt can serve pasta with garlic and oil...it takes about two minutes to make. Pietro's appears to be doing well....it was full. However in a city with so many good Italian restaurants and so many choices; little things do matter
Food was good, We waited an unusually long time for our meals.
No redeeming features- no where close to the other Italian restaurants in town (Beulah, Mediteranneo)
Fantastic New Years Eve dinner.
Perfect, as always.
Best authentic Italian in Sarasota, with nicest people.
Just a wonderful dining experience. Everything is so delightful, from the ambience, decor and the food. Have eaten here several times and we always it.
Food was super, for vegetarians, too, as was the service. We really like the atmosphere and the table arrangements. It was a very enjoyable evening with easy conversation. Treat yourself and go.
Consistently good quality food and service. The owners are very cordial and active in the restaurant. We have recommended Pietro's to friends. Very nice for a special occasion.
Like Italian? Want true Italian? Date night or celebration of any type? This is the best place ever. Small and intimate with amazing service and food!
Christmas Eve dinner, food ok, service slow, menu limited and expensive. I really wanted to like it more. Maybe I'll try another night that owned a holiday
Everything was wonderful! The host and hostess were welcoming and provided an at-home atmosphere.
We have known Peter and Susan since their days at Cafe Gabbiano, so we were excited to try the new restaurant, Pietro's. It is a charming space, small and intimate, but tables are not too close together, as a previous reviewer indicated. Service was perfectly timed, professional and friendly. We started with bruschetta. which was fresh and delicious. I remembered Peter's wonderful lobster ravioli from Gabbiano so I ordered it. I was not disappointed! Excellent portion size and perfectly cooked. My husband had grouper, which he thoroughly enjoyed and was also cooked to perfection. An excellent bottle of Pinot Grigio completed our meal.
Susan approached our table and said that she remembered us, and that Peter would like to say hello. It turns out that he was in the kitchen that night, so it is no surprise that the food was absolutely wonderful. He came out to greet us and it was a happy reunion, as we told him how much we loved the new space and how we had enjoyed the entire experience.
Peter is a born restaurateur, and his newest project, Pietro's, is sure to be a huge success. I highly recommend it for lovely atmosphere, wonderful, fresh food, great service, and the delightful presence of Susan and Peter, who make everyone feel like friends.
Wonderful experience in this cozy, romantic restaurant. Generous portions. Great food (lobster risotto special: the taste and presentation were amazing!). Veal special was amazing!
Owners , Pietro and Susan, treat the customers like family. Staff are attentive to customer needs and take the time to remember your preferences! We plan to return soon!
Just one tipp...would be great if the plates would be heated with the hot food....that way it stays longer warm......is a pity for the delicious food you serve....thank you!
Excellent food and service.
Even though there was a loud Christmas Party going on, the owners and staff did everything
to make us feel like royalty. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Food is superb, service outstanding, décor wonderful - and it's quiet. Go! Treat yourself, you deserve it!
This was our fifth time at Pietros and the food has been consistently fantastic. Service is right on par. Complimentary grappa is a nice touch. We will be back.
Good food and great service accompanied by pleasant Italian music and decor.
Wonderful staff &owners. Food was cooked perfectly.
Great food from the delicious Caesar salad to the Dover Sole to the Cannelloni special...each bite was better than the last. Loved the Limoncello Cake and the cannoli.
