Pierre Loti Chelsea
We had a great lunch here. Altho I made a res on Open Table for noon, this location doesn’t open until 3:00! However, the kitchen staff & manager (?) was there & cordially invited us to stay! They made us a great lunch & were so nice, even tho they really weren’t open! Good food, service. Nice people !
Place was empty for Sunday Brunch; service was great along with Mimosas, food was uninspired and basic.
Pierre Loti was closed on Saturday May 25th. I was planning to celebrate my friend's birthday and had made reservation for 12:30 ET through opentable. When we arrived, it was quite surprising and disappointing to see that the restaurant was closed even though I had received a booking confirmation email. There was no communication from Opentable or Pierre Loti about this. We had to scramble to change our plans last min after arriving at the restaurant.
@opentable - please remove this restaurant from your booking system if its shut down.
The service and drinks were really good but the food menu was poor and the food wasn’t that good
Great live musician, good wine, solid small mediterranean plates.
Good food and strong drinks. Recommend the zucchini pancakes. Live music was great but made it too loud to have a conversation. Cozy, intimate setting
Solid neighborhood spot. The service is a little slow, but quite warm and kind.
Honestly, I was a bit sad this time, I love this restaurant and come here all the time, this is the second time i was surprised to have live music the music as it is a bit out of place in such a small restaurant, The singing and music is fine but it is way too loud, you really should not have someone with an amplifier playing next to tables. I love your food and just wish the music could be more of a background as it seemed like the waiters/owners were not worried about the noise level as it interferes with the dining experience, maybe the singer should play later in the evening or in the back room. I hope the owners understand that people want to come and enjoy this restaurant and be able to have a conversation too, my friends feel the same as did the table next to us.
Great food and wine options but the service was horrible. We asked to try a wine and were met with glares of disgust and disbelief. Then, in ordering, the server was not friendly or helpful with our decision-making or in taking our order. Then, the live music came. The person chose music that absolutely did not fit the vibe (Mrs. Robinson) and was SO loud. Our table of two and the four next to us asked the servers to lower the volume and they brushed us off, dismissed us, and just told us we could move if we wanted. They were disrespectful and really were the worst servers I've had in NYC in years. I'm not sure I would come back here, even though the food and wine were good - the bad service broke it for me.
Pierre Loti Chelsea was not opened at 1pm for the time of my reservation on Saturday. They did not open until 4pm that day. The restaurants website shows that they would open at 11am on Saturdays. Pierre Loti Chelsea needs to update their website and reservation time options on Open Table.
Very noisy on a Friday night - but then that's true of many restaurants at that hour. By 10:30 it had quieted - what a joy. A delicious flank steak and a bargain at $18 (the salad could have used a more tasty dressing) but at $18 I was grateful for what I was offered. Delicious wine by the glass.
We showed up late but they let a few people of our party sit. For such a small place and not being busy when we arrived it took a very long time to be greeted or get a drink order taken. The bartender was standing there with no one at the small bar so it tells me the server just didn't put our drinks in. It was to the point where we saw so little of our server we would order more drinks the second that she would bring an order. Food was good but the band was aggressively loud for such a small place.
Not safe for food allergies, charges you for the wrong check, service is extremely slow!!!
Pierre Loti Chelsea is a charming space that will remind you of a tucked away French bistro that, once found, you’ll wind up returning to again and again. The comfortable banquettes, wood floors, wooden bar, and walls with shelving displaying wine bottles are attractive.
The menu offers a nice mix of typically Turkish dishes (Middle Eastern fare) and some French cuisine as well. We ordered a variety of appetizers and they were all delicious. We couldn’t decide which appetizer we liked the best. The salad with grilled chicken was embellished with a wonderful dressing and had perfectly cooked chicken. The Pierre burger, made with both lamb and beef was wonderfully flavorful. I would highly recommend trying the stuffed grape leaves, some of the best that we’ve ever had, and the smoked eggplant salad, flavored with peppers and lemon juice. Both were delicious! We ordered a French white wine and it was a perfect compliment to our meal. So much so that I had to order a second glass.
The owner of the restaurant came and introduced himself to us and we talked a bit; making us feel like valued guests. We will definitely return.
Our server neglected to tell us that the wine we ordered was sold out, and instead substituted a much more expensive wine, which we only learned about when presented with the bill.
Noise level was way beyond energetic - deafening is more like it.
Absolutely terrible experience with unprofessional, rude, and condescending staff. It is a shame that I must write this but this establishment is a failure on so many levels.
This was the worst dining experience we’ve ever had.
Great place for lunch. Comfortable place and good food!
The waitress was rude and the food was very subpar, compared to the last time i was there. I won’t be going back for sure.
Food was absolutely amazing. Best skirt steak I’ve ever had. The raviolis were also delish!!!
Came here with a Pulsd voucher. Food was just okay. Service was very slow and portions were very small. Wouldn't come back.
Disgusting experience. HUGE rubber band in salad. Bathroom awful, piled high with toilet paper and paper towels. Waitress knew nothing about menu whatsoever. They forgot to bring some of the food. We took some friends from California, went primarily because we had trouble getting a table for 6 anywhere. It was embarrassing at the very least. On the positive side, not too noisy. Not too cold. Octopus prepared well. Shish kebab looked like leather. If you have another option, take it.
The place has a warm ambiance. The menu is interesting. The service is apathetic. There was no one in the place, yet it was hard to get anyone's attention. I think there is tons of potential - but they just don't have everything sorted out.
Food was enjoyable, especially the cauliflower entree. Happy hour wine was surprisingly good. Noise level makes conversation almost impossible.
good food, nice staff. perfect but too noisy fri night
Comments from last visit. Seems Pierre Loti was closed for 'renovations' when we got there. discovered voice mail later that evening so they did try to contact us. Hope they re-open. R.
Bad services. Salty octupus. The vegetables on the salad were anything but fresh but liked the burrata that came with it. The risotto croquetas were good. My coke was flat and had passed expiration date. Waiter started telling me and my friend not to order tapas but to share entries, and she insisted very hard, then she wanted to choose the tapas for us, wtf.
Wait staff dressed like they were about to hit the club, took forever to acknowledge the table and first words were “You look ready”. Food was average at best. Could have provided myself with a more proper charcuterie board out of the nearest bodega. Truffle ravioli + seared cauliflower were way over cooked. Won’t be back here anytime soon..
The fries were way too crispy. We were disappointed in that, but the wine was great. Great ambiance and very friendly staff. It would be a nice date spot that’s not too formal.
The food and ambiance is really wonderful, attendant helpful staff, cozy, and easily accessible. Would highly recommend for a snack and drink after work or dinner. The only downside is the music can be quite loud sometimes making it difficult to hear.
went for a birthday dinner. There is a great happy hour wine flight with so many different options. The tapas was fantastic as was the steak and the roasted cauliflower
Dim lit and moderately quite joint with a solid selection of wines. Bathrooms are tinier those those which can be found on any commercial airplane. Cheers.
Great customer service!
I love this restaurant a lot BUT I wish it wasn't so loud. The food is excellent and the service is very very good. But the music is too loud and the other patrons were shouting. My boyfriend and I went there to celebrate our two year anniversary. Just wish we could have had a more cozy, quiet, romantic ambience.
Being from out of town, we were shooting in the dark on Open Table to find a unique place for dinner in Chelsea. I'm a Mediterranean food fan so when I saw this listing, I decided to make a reservation. I also like eating tapas or small plates at a new place, so that I can try a variety of different foods. My boyfriend and I ordered a cheese plate (3 cheeses), risotto balls and tuna tartare. The portions on the cheese plate were very generous, compared to other places that offer cheese. All of the food was wonderful. I especially liked the tuna tartare. We were both very full with splitting these three items. The restaurant is small, intimate and has a well stocked bar. It is nestled right in a neighborhood and a short walk from the subway. I highly recommend it.
Dined before theater. Not good for conversation but the food and wine are very good. Will return.
Great place for a drink. Not so much for dinner. We waited 40 minutes for our appetizer to come. But only five minutes later, our entrees arrived. Along with those timing issues, the entrees (skirt streak, asparagus and Branzino) were all over-cooked and crispy.
Really nice place, classy and the happy hour is good. Perfect for conversation, it doesn't get too crazy.
Mediocre food; abysmal service. OK for a glass of wine at the bar, I guess, but I’d leave it at that.
A special little jewel in the heart of Chelsea. Warm, relaxed vibe and such nice people working there. Affordable and interesting menu with delicious takes on classic Mediterranean for light bites or a full meal. The perfect place for winding down after a stressful work day. Will definitely be back!
