Pierpont's at Union Station
Pierpont's at Union Station has been providing food and service as memorable as the historic setting since its inception in 1999. Named for railroad baron J.P. (Pierpont) Morgan, Pierpont's serves perfectly aged prime steaks and fresh seafood arriving daily. To complement your culinary selections, we maintain an extensive wine list featuring bottles from all over the globe, as well as boast a gorgeous 2-story bar equipped with a rolling library ladder.
Our Private Dining Rooms-located in the Wine Cellar, along with the Pierpont's Belvedere Room on the 2nd floor overlooking Grand Hall, offer more intimate settings for groups of 6 to 60. They are perfect for business or entertaining guests and each room is individually decorated, offering an exceptional place to celebrate a special occasion, close the deal, or have a gathering with friends.

Food was delicious with a modern approach. Our server Dalton was professional, knowledgeable and seemed to enjoy his job. Would highly recommend.
It was an amazing experience and we had an amazing time.
The staff and meal were outstanding. During these crazy days ahead of us it was nice to enjoy a good meal out!
Our meals were excellent! Kyle was a wonderful server. Tim, GM, is always available and attentive. We love Pierpont’s.
Thank you fir a perfect evening for our birthday dinner of 8
The steaks - salmon - desserts everything was excellent
Delicious food, especially the filet. Yummy drinks and wonderful service. We all commented on how quiet it was despite a crowd.
Friends Anniversary 🥰
I come through often for work. I always take advantage of happy hour. However on my last visit I couldn’t believe the level of poor service I received at the bar. Not only was your female Bartender Slow to assist me in any way at all. I witnessed her pour herself shots and take them, which I guess explains the lackluster service I was receiving. I do not expect such unprofessional from a restaurant of this caliber.
I truly enjoy your menu but was disappointed that you no longer have the Acts I-iv. It was definitely the best bang for your buck. I hope you’ll reconsider and bring it back.
Great place to catch up. We closed out the restaurant and had a great meal with friends. Service and food was top notch. Always enjoy Pierponts!
KC Strip Steaks. 4 of them werent good. Waiter was excellent. Disappointed. Will not return
We love Pierponts!! This is not our first time..but every time it does not disappoint!! Wish we could find seats at the bar when we get there, but that is a good problem for them to have!!
Updating prior review that was partially critical we found this time to be much better. We did not experience any of the prior problems. Food was good. Service was great. Overall experience was excellent. Much quieter to sit in back away from busy and noisy bar area. Not as crowded on Wednesday as on weekends and that helped. Food arrived hot and was well prepared and service appropriately attentive allowing us to finish in time to make our evening event. Glad we gave them another chance.
It just wasn’t typical stellar service and food and the excuse was that it was the tail end of Valentine’s Day weekend. When you spend nearly $400 for a meal, it better be exceptional.
Food lacked flavor. Very average for the price. Nice ambiance, service was excellent, but would not return.
Elegant atmosphere, creative cuisine, superb steaks, fantastic service.
We were in for a late Valentine's dinner. As always, the food was great, the service was spot on, and the ambience was wonderful. We celebrate a lot of special events there, and this experience will not stop us from returning yet again!
The food was delicious
They were very busy during Valentines' Day and the service was a little slow, which was understandable. My wife ordered the Filet Migon which was very good. I had the Ribeye and it left a lot to be desired, not great quality or taste for a $52 steak. Pierpont's was okay but I have had better experiences elsewhere. Will probably not go back.
The steaks were great but all other food was average and the wine pairings were terrible. The service was sub par- very slow and several errors. The price was exorbitant - $250 is ridiculous for 2 people who didn’t even want dessert.
Always a fave!
My wife and I are not accustomed to fine dining, and I'm sure that is obvious to the staff. However, we have always been treated very well here. More to the point, the restaurant is very nice, in a historic setting and the food is amazing! When we want to go out and celebrate a special occasion, this is where we will continue to go.
We dined here for my fiancé’s birthday. Neither of us had been to Pierpont’s but saw it was a nice steakhouse and the menu looked good. The food was great but the service was poor. For a $200 bill for 2 people, you should expect great service. Not sure if it’s worth the price because of the overall experience.
The lamb shank had the flavor profile and consistency of pot roast.... like, bad pot roast... No herbs or garlic to speak of at all. It WAS cooked well, but without flavor what good is that?!
The service was lackluster. We sat for around 7-9 minutes before getting water or drink orders taken AT 5 PM! The waitress never stopped to inquire about how we liked the food until we were basically finished. When I expressed my dissatisfaction with the lamb she did offer to get me something else, but this was easily 1.5 hours into our experience, so definitely not great.
There are dozens of better choices for high quality food with ambience and attention to detail... spend your hundreds of dollars elsewhere.
A great place to have dinner! Not everything was an absolute hit, but it was all really good. The smoked scallops were incredible. Excellent service. We will definitely be back.
Had a reservation for 8:45 but wasn't sat down at a table until 9:30. Then after that they forgot our 1st entree. We eventually got it after our second entree came out. The food was very good, so was the wine. They gave us a "$10 off" coupon for the inconvenience, but considering the price of the place that's laughable.
We had high expectations for such a revered restaurant. We called early and asked for a certain area in the restaurant. We were placed instead at a table only half set with dishes and next to the kitchen. To their credit, after we complained to 3 people, the manager came and moved us. We had wine pairings with our meal, our server failed to bring one of our glasses of wine and the others were all after the courses were delivered and after we asked about them. Food wasn’t anything special and was room temperature.
Our Valentine experience was perfect — beautiful, delicious food, and fabulous service! Thank you so much!🥰
Valentine’s Day dinner was an enjoyable experience. I would have preferred to be notified of a limited, 3 course menu selection instead of an open menu. $70 for a three-course for one person seemed a bit much. The entrees were excellent. The dessert Yates like it had been frozen and thawed. Very dry.
Not our best experience at Pierpont’s but would definitely visit again.
I was a bit underwhelmed with the price and relative value of the Valentines Day menu.
Our server Destiny and all the staff were good and attentive. Food was very good. Special Valentine's Day menu was a little pricey, but it made service easy and quick. Was pleased to get a last minute reservation using Open Table. I have enjoyed Pierpont's in the past for drinks and lunch, but had been underwhelmed for dinner until now. Great job tonight!
Food and drinks were fantastic, such a great atmosphere.
Valentines dinner. Fixed menu. The food was outstanding. The service was Less outstanding than usual probably due to the crowd. Getting our drinks to our table on time Was a struggle early. Otherwise, everything was great.
Very poor and extremely overpriced. With a limited choice menu it took forever to get our food. Portions were small and the wine “pairing” were extremely small pours for a ridiculous price. $95 for one crab cake, one asparagus, one small filet, a desert and 2oz pours of wine.
We waited 15 - 20 minutes between our plates being cleared and the next course arriving. We had to ask for our bill and our desert as it had been 90 minutes and we had to catch a theater performance. Inexcusable with a limited price-fix’s menu.
Tiffany took great care of us on Valentine’s Day!
Our dinner was an excellent experience thanks to the staff's efforts to make it so.
Our bisque and salads were perfect.
The food was great, but maybe a little pricey. You have to specify the bar to get the deals there. However, the bar is pretty loud. Overall, it's great. The bar is fun and the dining area is nice and quiet.
Jan was our waitress and she was spectacular. Our food was outstanding and we loved the place. Recommend this place to anyone
To acknowledge a special birthday, I selected Pierpont's. I booked on Open Table, indicating it was a birthday celebration. This is a beautiful restaurant. We were nicely greeted and seated on time. Drinks were selected, timely delivered - each was excellent. Then the problems started. The bottle of wine we ordered did not show up. I finally inquired and was told "we can't find the bottle or the wine steward". After 20 minutes - the bottle finally arrived. Our meal was equally disappointing. Two of us had the pepper type steak. It was very tough. Difficult to cut and chew. Our table also had the soup - too salty, and the scallops - just OK. I spoke to our waiter about the steaks. He indicated he would talk with him manager. We never heard more from anyone. As we were leaving, our waiter, who we liked, said "Oh, yes, Happy Birthday". In the end, this hoped for great night was a disappointment. With so many quality KC restaurants to pick from - we won't be returning to Peirpoints.
