Pierpont's at Union Station Ratings and Reviews
We dined during restaurant week and the food was fantastic. All 4 of our group got the Filet Mignon, which was perfectly cooked all the way around the table. We also had great service too.
The only bad thing I will say is that my Filet Mignon was TINY. I know it was restaurant week but I wish I would have known size before I ordered. The only thing separating our meal from being perfect was portion size.
5:45 reservations before a 7:30 show in the same building. Seated promptly. Salads / soup served almost immediately although soup was sent back twice for not being hot- switched to salad. Entrees brought while still eating salads. Mashed potatoes cold, steaks lukewarm. After the rush, waited 10 minutes for cold coffee- 5 minutes for a fresh pot. 22 minutes for desert. Not an experience to be repeated. I thought restaurant week was to put best foot forward but in this case has turned a regular customer off.
We came to celebrate a milestone birthday, even though it was also Restaurant Week (they were packed!). Food and service excellent. Beautiful space.
The only negative on our evening was the rather shocking price for the "add on" scallops we were offered (and I did not ask the price before I accepted the offer. Won't make that mistake again.)
First visit to this restaurant and it lived up to its reputation. We all ordered the restaurant week special, so we were able to sample a variety of dishes. Everything was outstanding in terms of flavor and portion size. My personal favorites were the crab bisque, filet mignon, and the creme brûlée.
A member of our party also had to use a wheelchair for the evening and the staff was extremely accommodating, ensuring his dining experience was amazing as well.
Friends and I double dated here during restaurant week. The wine list is extensive and has wonderful options. The food was incredible - we all had the prime rib and it was cooked to perfection. While it is pricey, it is perfect for a special occasion date night.
First time eating at Pierponts and we were not dissapointed! First of all, the greeters and the waitstaff were warm and welcoming and not snobby which is a HUGE turnoff for me at higher end restaurants. That really placed us in a relaxed mood to enjoy our Restaurant Week lunch choices which were the Seabass and the Chitarra Pasta (HUGE portion). Needless to say we ate everything and we were happy and so full that we couldn't even breathe. I would say this restaurant is a winner!
We truly enjoyed our dinner at Pierpont’s. It was a celebration of our anniversary and the server brought us complimentary glasses of bubbly to toast. The food was excellent and well prepared. We ate from the small plates menu and found the portions satisfying. The only qualm we may have had is the delivery timing of two items. We understood that it was because on this particular evening the restaurant was not too busy and the kitchen had the items ready sooner than expected. Overall, though, we were most pleased with our meal.
Took my son here for his birthday. We've been here many times and consider it a "special occasion" dining spot. A bit on the pricey side but worth it - especially the tasting menu. Only item NOBODY at the table enjoyed was the very pungent goat cheese on the cheese tray - lol. New server was not completely familiar with the menu but provided great service nonetheless. Found out answers to questions we had and quickly let us know. Crab bisque was outstanding and the filet was tender - perfectly cooked. We will be back!
We went here for our anniversary dinner. Dinner was bland and lacked the quality that I would expect from a $140 meal for two. We were both just very dissapointed. Other than the food, everything else was great. Good service, atmosohere, and drinks. Would not recommend to a friend at all though.
It’s a beautiful restaurant. Great ambiance. The food is excellent. Tasting menu with wine pairings is awesome. The waiter was not what you would expect for a restaurant of this caliber. We go here every year for family holiday dinner. All was great but for the waiter who turned the evening (on a 1-10 scale ) from a 10 to a 7.
The food, cocktails, service were all very good. We were disappointed with our table which was on the other side of bar/ lounge. When asked for a different table they stated I would have to email them request seating in a different area before they could accommodate our table change.
Went with my in-laws, husband and daughter. We got the small plates 4 option. I got the 3 because it was my birthday and I got a complimentary dessert. Food was delicious, wine was great, service was top-notch, my only suggestion is that to add a steak to the children’s menu. My daughter is 8 and was disappointed that there was not a steak option. She opted for the fish and chips which was above average, but a steak option at a steak-house would be nice.
We’ve been going to this restaurant for years but it seems to have taken a dip in its quality. Kitchen was out of a lot of items. Menu offerings changed, old favorites are no longer offered. Bring back the calamari! Price point for the scallop entree seemed high...3 scallops for $36! Waiter was not as attentive, did not have proper etiquette and needs more training. Lastly the waiter was not knowledgeable on the menu or wine offerings. The restaurant has a great atmosphere and is truly a KC gem, but needs to be revamped to what it used to be.
Picked this spot for a special occasion and the restaurant was the perfect backdrop. The meal was memorable and the ambiance grand. Despite having a 7:30 reservation, we still had a 15 minute wait for a table and lots of scrambling at the front. That was never fully understood. The tableside service was first-rate, but apologetic at the very slow kitchen. Our dinner took nearly one hour to arrive and that seemed excessive for a Monday night that did not seem overly crowded. The food was well presented, with a steak, seafood, and chicken entrée at the table. The presentations were lovely and appetizing. Salads were crisp and well executed. Due to the prolonged wait for our entrees, we were no longer willing to try the dessert menu, as we thought that two hours there was already long enough. We will give it another try, perhaps, but not during the holiday season.
We love coming here as the food is always delicious and the atmosphere is perfect. On this occasion, a few things were off as our meals needed to be changed as the manager told us they were not up to snuff and our table was not ready when we arrived. The manager and waitress took care of the situations and we were done after two hours.
