Food was delicious! Wait staff very knowledgeable. First timer, will return!
Great for a special occasion... We were quickly seated and our server was prompt. The fresh sour dough bread was warm with a nice crust on the outside, but chewy on the inside. Fantastic. Would go back just for wine and bread... We started with oysters which were fresh and amazing. We moved on to one of the best crab cakes we have ever had, mostly all crab, not heavily breaded. It had a nice relish on top and a delicious mustard sauce. Seafood bisque was also quite nice, but could have used a few more seafood chunks. The lobster tail was tender and delicious. We had a filet and a ribeye for our mains. As far as steaks go, they were decent, but we expected better for the price. The ribeye had nearly no char on the outside, and little seasoning. It was quality meat, but needed a little something more. Blueberry bread pudding for dessert was really good as well.
We sat in the Lounge where it was noisy. The service was lousy. The burger was very dry. The dessert was not good. We have eaten in the dining room before and it was good so won't sit in lounge again
Business lunch with a colleague. Service was good and had us in and out in an hour. The pulled pork sandwich was tasty but standard fare. My colleague's Rueben sandwich was satisfactory. For the cost of their food, I tend to expect more than I received.
Always terrific. We had a great time. Food and service was perfect.
We went for our anniversary and we had a fantastic time! Our server (shout out to Gabe) was so kind and made the evening so much fun. They really pulled out all of the stops for us.
The premiere steak and seafood place in all KC. My favorite restaurant. Period.
It is an amazing restaurant for a special occasion.
We enjoyed our anniversary dinner there, the tall bald guy that's been there forever as he described himself was an awesome server. The staff went out of their way to make sure our night was special!
We had the four-course small plate with wine pairing. We asked our server, Gabriel, to select the wines for us. He was excellent in his service and choices. It made our dinner a pleasure. The food was very good as well.
We had a farewell lunch for our boss! This was some of our first times here at Pierponts and it was awesome! Thank you !
Always a great experience!!
Food and service was excellent!!
I will be back many more times.
Everything was great once we walked in! Went for my GF’s birthday and when we checked in they wished her “happy birthday”
Food was great! Got oysters, lobster mac & cheese, and steaks.
Will go back for sure!
We flew into Kansas City from Denver and wanted to have a nice meal before driving to Kansas to visit our son for the weekend. Living in a city that knows its steak houses, our standards are high. But we know that Kansas City also has a well deserved reputation for great steak houses and Pierpont's absolutely lived up to that reputation. The dining room is lovely, the staff were helpful and attentive, and the food was fantastic. My wife's filet was so tender she could cut slices in half with her fork. In addition to the exceptional steak options, there are a wide variety of starters, salads, and other entrees from which to choose. My salad of two different types of melon combined with arugula and small mozzarella balls was refreshing and delicious. I had smoked scallops for my entree (I'm pescatarian) that were among the best I've ever tasted. It is an ingenious preparation that I very much enjoyed. We will absolutely dine here again when we are in town.
Pierpont's is always a favorite. Once again it did not disappoint. So glad it is a vital part of the restored Union Station.
I always love coming back to Pierpont’s especially as this time we had Coco as our waitress. She was so Professional and knowledgable on the food and also the wine. She had a great way with my clients who I was with which made their evening as well. 2 Americans 1 Frenchman and 1 Englishman. I will definitely recommend this to all of my friends and clients.
Courtney our server, was fabulous! The food was magnificent presentation beautiful! We come once a month , & have never been disappointed!
Loved everything about it!
Always terrific. I highly recommend going on Sunday to get the discount on wine.
The rabbit and the crab bisque were amazing. The staff was very attentive and service was quick.
Better options available for the price. Would not recommend. Would not return.
Food was good price was a little pricey We called for reservations Saturday afternoon for 2 people at 7:30 same day and were accommodated. Surprised there was no one sitting at the bar when we arrived or when we left around 9:15. Very nice atmosphere for a date night.
We’ve just returned from a 50th birthday celebration at Pierpont’s. From the moment we arrived, we had exceptional service. We were greeted with a “Happy Birthday” and it only went up from there.
I choose the 4 course tasting with wine pairings. Mushroom risotto, Walnut & Pear salad, Filet Mignon with roasted garlic whipped potatoes, asparagus, and a delicious Cognac demi-glacé, and the Strawberry Rhubarb Shortcake. Each of the wines poured with the accompanying course were delicious. There wasn’t a thing left on my plate. The serving portions were enough to feel full but not uncomfortably full. I can’t recommend this meal enough.
My boyfriend had the Bone-in Rib-eye and has happily told everyone THIS was the best steak he’s had in Kansas City.
We shared the Citrus Marinated Yellowtail ... delicious.
The service was amazing.
I couldn’t recommend Pierpont’s more. Thank you for making our birthday celebration one to remember
We had not been to Pierpont's in a year or two, but it remains a great restaurant. For starters the ambiance of Union Station and the art deco style of Pierpont's is great, especially for a special occasion (we were celebrating my wife's birthday). The staff is very friendly and helpful. We opted for a bottle of the featured wine and the fixe pris small plates, both of which were excellent choices. It is a consistently great place.
What's not to love at Pierponts? The tasting menus are a great way to sample various plates at smaller portions. Their cocktails and wine list are comprehensive and their service is always appropriate. The venue is enchanting and it's always a good dining experience.
Great food and dining experience. The setting is always wonderful. Service was exceptional. What you would expect from a higher end restaurant. Paired it with dancing at the USO dance:)
Our dinner at Pierpont’s on July 11 was for our 38th Anniversary. The food was outstanding from the crab cakes and Walnut Pear Salad to the Seafood Stew and Filet Mignon. Craig was our server, and he did a great job! He was very knowlegable about the menu, and he entertained us with his stories. Tim, the Manager, came to wish us a Happy Anniversary and stayed to chat with us. It was a wonderful and memorable anniversary dinner!
Anniversary lunch always go to Pierpont’s however, missed Jan this year. Alex was very nice and helpful. We enjoy these visits even with the drive and crazy parking situation.
We enjoyed our dinner at Pierpont’s. The waiter was knowledgeable and made great recommendations. Our steak and porckchop were the requested temperature and tasted delicious.
Biggest disappointment was our table for 6.
Very cramped and uncomfortable.
Wonderful experience at Pierponts - food and service were both excellent.
Great iconic restaurant within the Union Station in Kansas City. Proprietor Tim provided exceptional wine service with a list to seek out and explore! The bar is the best in the city. Menu did not disappoint with my filet being cooked to perfection. Definitely recommend this experience, especially on Sunday when parking is not a challenge.
Service was a little slow, but the wait staff is very friendly. The food is always great! It’s one of our favorite restaurants in KC.
A great place. Took my husband there for his birthday and everything was excellent. A little pricey but worth it if you're celebrating something special or craving a great steak. Their fresh bread and wine were also great.
Good food and service
Two of us ordered salads which were just ok. I ordered the pear and walnut salad and it wasn’t what I expected after reading the description in the menu. Another person ordered the melon salad and she also said it wasn’t what she expected after reading the menu. She ate the fruit on the salad but left the greens. One person ordered the Reuben and it was good although she said she wished she had ordered the steak burger. The only person that was really happy with the meal was my boyfriend and he ordered the steak burger which was a blend of ground filet, ground sirloin and ground ribeye. He said it was delicious. Thus the reason for my 3 star rating because 3 of us thought the meal was just ok and one of us thought it was very good.
Superb in every way. It was a treat to go to dinner where the food exceeds our expectations as we cook at home every night. Fresh ingredients beautifully prepared, excellent wait staff. Fillet was cooked to perfection. Elegant setting. We haven’t found a restaurant in KC that rivals Pierpont’s.
Great food and ambiance. The blue crab soup was delicious! Excellent steak. Would highly recommend.
