Best date nite! Food was great, service was perfect. Would highly recommended it! We did several of the appetizers instead of a main course, the fresh oysters were briny and delicious. We capped off the dinner with a caviar course, what a way to end a meal!
We met friends for dinner. The service was excellent. We enjoyed the wine list. Our only concern was the amount of salt in the food especially the salmon.
We had a great time here. Great food.
Nothing remarkable. Don’t see how this restaurant gets such a high score.
Fantastic meal ... steaks were amazing ... kind of noisy and super sad they no longer have creme brûlée ... but will always return for the fabulous food, great service and stunning atmosphere.
Atmosphere and design was exceptional. Service from Courtney and bus help was outstanding. Location is historic, parking was conveinant. I didn't notice any background music but that probably is a good thing( hard to find music thay would please all). Overall, a perfectly fine dining experience...wouldn't change a thing!
Excellent wine tasting -. $20 pp and received $20 food and drink voucher for the same value. Tasting was 6 very generous selections from David Phinney/Orrin Swift. Tasting took place outside the restaurant in the main lobby of the gorgeous Union Station. We proceeded to dine inside Pierponts on charcuterie and dessert. We’ve been dining at Pierponts since it opened in 1999 and have had many delucious meals and treasured times with family and friends, in great ambiance. Service has always been consistently attentive. It’s a KC gem!
A wonderful place to celebrate a special event. Our entire experience from start to finish was superb. We highly recommend!
Had small plate selection with wine pairing. Outstanding food preparation and excellent selection of wines. Server provided good rationale for each selection.
We had a great time celebrating my wife’s birthday. Our server Chael was outstanding and the food was great. Thank you so much
This place is absolutely fantastic. My wife and I tend to come here for our anniversary, but we will be unfortunately moving out of town soon. My Mother and sister in-law came to visit from Japan and the four of us came to Pierpont's for dinner. Everyone was happy. The only thing that bothered me was that they changed up their Caesar Salad to be less than ideal. It's like a deconstructed version of a caesar salad and I'm not really a fan. I wasn't really a fan of their old version either, so who knows. Either way, they do what they do well. A little overpriced if I have to be completely honest, but the atmosphere makes up for it.
First impression: Stacy called less than 5 minutes after I made my reservation online to give me alternate parking options since their lot was being resurfaced. So kind! Food was delicious (fritto misto, GF chocolate cake) and the bartender whipped me up a superb mocktail. Love this restaurant!
Great food and very nice wine selection. Happened to be their on a Sunday when bottles of wine are half price. Nice treat. Excellent service and friendly.
Innovative use of rooms in historic station. Very attentive service from knowledgeable staff. Food of above average caliber but pricey, as you are also paying for the ambiance.
Very eloquent setting for special occasions with excellent food and attentive wait staff.
We went to celebrate a birthday and had a wonderful evening. The staff were so kind and knowledgeable. The atmosphere is elegant and well lit, and the architectural detail of being in Union Station was fascinating to look at. Will definitely be adding this to my list for special occasions!
There seem to be a lot of open tables throughout the restaurant For our semi formal occasion. But we were led to the basement and sat in an entryway to the kitchen. Wasn’t quite sure why we were put down there and in that particular spot
Outstanding food and service in a beautiful historic building.
My first experience at Pierponts was not a good one. While our waitress was nice, she left for longer than normal periods and wasn’t very knowledgeable about the menu. In addition, one of us ordered the rib eye special cooked medium and it came out very red in the middle ( definitely not medium). In the end, we informed the waitress who apologized and offered to cook it more but we had already been there a long time and needed to go. The waitress did tell the manager who gave us a $40 coupon to use at a future visit. While that was a nice gesture, the more I thought about it, the more I thought they should have comped the steak since it was inedible rather than making us come back to spend more money. Overall, not impressed with my visit.
Our kids had a great time. They got engaged right after dinner!
Pierpont’s was amazing as usual. The food was perfect and the service was wonderful.
Our waiter Kyle was professional, personable, and very knowledgeable. This is our second time dining at Pierpont’s. We were celebrating my birthday this time. We got the meat and cheese plate with olive bread appetizer. It was an awesome combo of flavors! I had the Roasted Chicken Roulade and my husband had the Kansas City Strip with garlic mashed potatoes with a bowl of Wedding soup. I had the bread pudding for dessert, which was complimentary for my birthday!! We both had a few drinks a piece...whiskey sour (my husband said the best he’s ever had), tequila sunrise, a Paloma, and a Dunkel beer.
EVERYTHING was phenomenal!!! We love eating here and it’s always amazing!!
Great service and received a great free blueberry bread pudding for my birthday dessert.
Absolutely terrible in every respect. The steaks were undercooked and of poor quality.
My boyfriend and I had dinner at Pierpont’s Thursday evening. While we’re not opposed to spending nearly $500 on dinner, we are when the food be service is below average. Not a fan at all.
Menu is somewhat limited, with most options being different cuts of steak. Union Station is so iconic for KC, so we love to go for that reason. Service was excellent. Prices are extremely high. The bar area is very lively and noise level is high if you’re anywhere near it.
Always a favorite... for special occasions as well as a weekday lunch. Our server, Alex, is excellent.
Pierponts is a Kansas City classic. First you have the majesty of walking into the soaring over the top Beaux-Arts Union Station, and then on into Pierponts which is equally beautiful. If you are thinking romantic, this is the place. The Chef and kitchen deliver up beautiful fare, and the service is flawless. Our host George was gracious, finding us a perfect spot, and our server Adam was equally fabulous, as were the other wait staff. Highly recommend Pierponts as that special place to treat yourself and others.
I love the architecture, and the feeling of being in a time long past while I dine and enjoy the company of good friends. The employees are friendly and courteous, and the food is delicious. I'm particularly partial to the cocktails which I have many.
It's hard not to like anything at Union Station. Although, our lunch at Pierpont's was rather blah. My Rueben sandwich was below average in taste. The meat had a slight off-taste to it. Would I go back? Yes, but I would certainly try something else.
Pierpont's has a great happy hour and good bar service, so I'd recommend that. However, had I realized that this steak house did not serve baked potatoes (unbelievable!), I would have selected another locally-owned steak house for my out of town guests. We had a novice server who poorly timed our plates. Steak was cold. Love the Union Station location!
It was wonderful and enjoyedy every minutes it was a pleasure, ,, the wife and I enjoyed our anniversary dinner
Good food in a terrific setting in Union Station. The filet steak was excellent. My wife had the red snapper special that was a bit salty, though were very accommodating about it. It was good otherwise. Service was friendly and efficient. The bar cocktails were also very well made. We’ll be back.
Delicious steaks special, and I was told the salmon was better, but I doubt that. The bottle of French wine was ok and would have been helped if given a decanter to breathe. Dessert was tasty, but the description was not well given, and the big slice of something passing the table at the time of the description made for a bit of bait and switch.
The ambiance was hurt by the staff's seating choice that had my wife bumped again and again by the staff, which she took like a trooper, but for the price, no! (Not like they could not have taken a moment and moved the table four to six inches; the room was not full.) So overall, good but pricey.
The quick summary is that the kitchen seems to have the situation under control, but the wait staff had a less than competent night, for the price. Don't get me wrong, everything was very good, but for $100 a person I expect excellent, with a minor mistake or two, we’re all human, but not a systematic fixable error.
Great service and food as always!
Went for my 94 year old Mom's birthday luncheon. Server was gracious and kind. Free birthday dessert was offered (she was too full) . My lobster/corn bisque was amazing - Mom was very happy with a grilled cheese! This was memory lane for her, as she remembers frequent visits as a child to Harvey House with her parents, and remembers with pride her involvement in the Save the Station effort.
Very nice all around. Good spot for a relaxing lunch. Asparagus was cooked perfectly.
The server was very attentive and extremely professional and friendly and anticipated our needs.
Your specially-priced meals are enticing. We came for the filet/steak burger and fries at lunch and enjoyed the meal very much. Thank you.
