Piero's Pizzavino Ratings and Reviews
The issue I have with Piero's is that they seem to overbook reservations. We had a reservation for 6:30 and didn't get seated until 6:50. Sorry, but I thought the point of reservations is that wait time to be seated was either eliminated or minimal-not 20 minutes of continually moving this way or that to try to get out the way of others in a way overcrowded area. The hostess continually offered up the excuse that people would not leave after they finished their meal, but people come here to enjoy the company of family and friends, not to bolt down some food and leave. After all, this isn't Burger King. All in all, a rather unsatisfactory experience.
Server delivered a burnt pizza. We tried to eat some of it but told the server and half of the pizza was untouched and clearly black. She offered free dessert but we didn’t want dessert. We were disappointed she did not adjust the bill for at least half the price as she could clearly see the pizza was burnt and uneaten. Normally we have had good food at the restaurant.
The food was great and the service was exceptional. Will definitely return. Celebrated my wife’s birthday, they brought out a complimentary creme brûlée. Also, my wife didn’t care for her cocktail and the waiter reacted intuitively and took it off the bill before presenting the check. Always a touch of class. Can’t wait to come back.
Food was good had the penne vodka sauce pasta. Great but the chicken isn’t good in it. It needs meatball option instead of just chicken and shrimp. Dessert was good, had the Nutella pizza but it took a long time to prepare- a heads up on the menu or from server would have been nice. We also tried the cannolis and there was orange peel in it which was untraditional and overpowered the flavor. It’s the first cannolis I didn’t like much. They should take out the orange or minimize the flavor greatly. Server was accommodating (we have had the opposite experience here too with another server) but somewhat knowledgeable.
Came in with a vegetarian friend and were pleased she found a few options from
Which to choose. We started with the margherita pizza, yummy! Pasta bolognese was tasty as was the Tuscan wedge salad. They were quite busy so service was a bit slow but we were happy to take the time to sit and chat.
What I especially liked was that most salads were offered in half size. This is always a selling point for me.
In our party of 4 women, 2 of us had a half salad - the other 2 shared a pizza.
We sat outside and it was very pleasant and easy to talk.
The 4 of us try to meet once a month for lunch during season - i know we'll be back.
I took a neighborhood college student to lunch before she returns to school. The staff was friendly, the food had good flavor and the patio was nice on a 70 and sunny afternoon. That said, the waiter disappeared between drink refills, the meatball sandwich could not be picked up and eaten, had to use a knife and fork. Pricing was slightly on the high side. A three star review is a fair and average review based on this one experience.
We had a late lunch at Piero Pizzavino - they portray their pizza as authentic Neapolitan - Although the pizza sandwich "bread" is clearly Neapolitan crust, the pizza crust is thicker and doesn't seem to jibe with the claim they make. The food was excellent, however. Service was good. The waiter, however, packed up only the arugula leftover for my son, and not the crusts he left, which he DID want. We would come here again just for the pizza or generous pizza sandwiches.
This restaurant was recommended by a friend and we loved it. Lovely comfortable decor, friendly staff, GREAT food. Portions are ample, so plan on ordering desert to go. I enjoyed the Cheese Tortellini with mushrooms and walnuts. The pasta was perfectly prepared and the sauce was a great balance between rich and flavorful, yet not heavy. I enjoyed a nice glass of Prosecco with my meal which was also delicious. My companions enjoyed baked ziti, the pollo sandwich and an arugula salad. They both enjoyed theirs completely. I was thrilled to see my favorite wine from my favorite city in Italy, Orvietto Classico. I would have ordered a glass, but it came only by the bottle, which I understand completely.
Only one drawback to the meal, was the temperature in the restaurant was quite warm. It was a sunny day that warmed up quickly and I noticed the staff was actively working to draw the shades. I'm sure this was resolved quickly.
We had an Open Table reservation and were seated immediately, although we arrived 15 minutes early and there were many people waiting for tables. We were very surprised and appreciative of the prompt seating. The service throughout was efficient and friendly. We just split a salad and a pizza - that pizza was perfection! People around us had delicious looking pasta - I’ll definitely be back, but I may never get to the pasta because the pizza is just too good!!! The restaurant was packed and very noisy - a little difficult to carry on a conversation, but hey, we’re there to eat! We can talk later...
Everyone's food was terrific. Pizza look quite good but I had white fish. Yum. Pizza next time. It was crowded and we were seated in the back room, which was quite loud. The lighting above the tables is waayyyyy to bright at some of the tables - felt like an interrogation setting. We opted to move to another table where the lights above were not so focused on the table. Much better! We will come back.
We went to this restaurant for my husband's birthday which was not recognized. Even though we had reservations our table was not ready and we were given another table after waiting for fifteen minutes. The restaurant was very busy and crowded and has no real seating area to wait which made it difficult for my husband who is handicapped and can't stand for long periods of time. The food I must say was very good and came out promptly and hot. Since it was very crowded, it was very very noisy and hard to have conversations without shouting at each other. I am not sure I would go back after this last visit.
