Parioli Italian Bistro
Took a long time to order..had a hard time getting our orders right, had to correct my bill, food was so-so for each of our 4 orders. Probably will not return
Disappointed overall with the Valentine's special dinner and not worthy of $60pp price tag. Food was served warm at best, servers seemed unhappy and likely due to kitchen's lack of performance. Restaurant is in need of updating as well.
Good choice as always for a delicious meal with excellent service! Nice place to meet up with friends too
The food was good overall, but to me, the pasta has to be al dente, and it was not...
Lovely attentive service and every dish delicious! Perfect evening
Excellent service and meal. Authentic Italian cuisine.
I will recommend it, but it was kind of run down. The lobster ravioli was good.
Meh ok food pretty over priced so many other choices
Food was well below average. Steak overcooked. 5 raviolis for a $30+ dish. Penne pasta was something you could cook at home with a store bought jar of Marinara. Was a family get together with siblings and family members that had not seen each other in awhile. Disappointing
Food is excellent! Service varies from slow to excellent. Reserve chianti is excellent.
Good food and nice out door patio
I checked the menu on open table prior to my reservation. When I got there, the menu was completely different. There were items on the open table website that were not on the menu in the restaurant. Also, prices were higher in the restaurant than on the open table website. It would be nice to check the menu before arriving, and then actually have the same menu in the restaurant.
Food was excellent and server was very good.
Fun night, excellent food.
Food is good, service is an I don't care, I just need to do this type of attitude. Ambience is not as good as it could be due to the spotty service. They seem to be geared for alcohol sales.
Rude waiter gave daughter a hard time for asking not to include certain ingredients because of her stomach problems. He made a scene at our table and embarrassed my daughter and our whole table which was was noticed by other patrons He added a mandatory 20%gratuity to a table of 4 kids and 3 adults and told us after we dined. Overall bad experience. Nice ambiance, good drinks but that was all.
We booked after looking at menu in line. When we arrived the menu was not as shown. We asked if we could order ofc the on line menu and were reluctantly allowed. The special was branzino but the server could not tell us about it because she didn’t eat fish. Just a wierd vibe. Arrived early and the place was empty.
Overall enjoyable experience.
Pleasant but would not go back or recommend.food was OK. Had seafood linguine long on pasta, short on seafood, and it was over cooked. Ordered Sangiovese, had been open bottle for a long time. Sat outside. Pleasant but you’re by the street with lots of sirens and street sounds.
Server was nice, attentive and best part of place.
This restaurant was recommended by two ladies we meant at Sbicca in Del Mar. The were residents of Las Vegas that vacation in Del Mar frequently and gave Parioli very high reviews. My wife and I decided that since they were from a major restaurant city that we would dine at this establishment. The food and service were good, but not up to the over stated recommendation we received. We will not return to Parioli for another meal.
Small, comfy family restaurant. Nightly dinner specials & although a small-ish menu, everything we ate was done to perfection. While vacationing in Solana Beach, we liked Parioli's so much, we went back for dinner a 2nd time - Particularly enjoyed the lobster ravioli. Full bar & great wine list.
Food was alright. Very overpriced, 5 ravs for $20. Service was very slow.
We were seated by the window and the room was quite comfortable and quiet, at least when we were there. The service was good and the food very good. Not posh but very comfortable and intimate setting.
First time at Parioli Italian Bistro. It exceeded my expectations. The food was delish! Our server was fantastic. Plus we used a gift card from Costco and saved 20%
We were disappointed in the food. My spinach ravioli was extremely bland and Luke warm and the garlic bread arrived as I was finishing my entree and was Luke warm at best and not appealing. I expect an Italian restaurant to serve quality and flavorful food, especially since this is their specialty and Parioli’s has been here for many years. I should Add that the salad was very tasteful and our waiter attentive and charming but this does not pursuade me to return. It is unfortunate, since SolanaBeach is severely lacking in good full service restaurants and this is such a charming little spot. All this being said, they had a full house so somebody must like it!!
Service was good. Food was ok. Should be a bit better better for the price. No bread with dinner at an Italian restaurant?
Delightful neighborhood find, with consistently excellent food. This time, we had marinated olives, sautéed mussels, and fettuccine bolognese, caesar and arugula/pear salads. Asked for, and received, a freshly made order of garlic bread, accompanied by olive oil. Would be nice if their bar selections of both wine by the glass and whiskey were a bit more extensive, but this is a minor criticism given the wonderful dining experience they provide.
Had reservations for 7PM, seated at 7:30. Much confusion involved. Took 15 minutes to get simple drinks. My lobster ravioli was delicious, but 6 ravioli, no bread or salad for $24 a bit steep. Never asked about second drinks or water refilled. Never offered dessert or coffee.
Was there last February and experience was MUCH better. Sad....
Horrible- they do not interface well with open table
We waited more than an hour to be seated
No bread offered
Mistake with bill
We went on Valentines Day and was not informed they would have a Prix fixe meal which did not reflect the value of the food or experience. It did not seem like they were prepared for the evening. Basic meal for $60 a person, could understand if it included a glass of wine and offered great service. We were brought the wrong meal, casually tossed the selections onto the table without proper utensils for the dish served. We may try again on another evening since we live across the street and want to find great restaurants close.
We all really enjoyed our dinners. The ambiance was great and so was the food. The service was good enough but not extra good.
The restaurant will be my”home away home” Italian restaurant when we visit San Diego area.
We found this restaurant while we were visiting San Diego area on rainy weekend. We enjoyed the whole experience throughly. Excellent food, wine & desserts and attentive service. We like to visit the area often and this restaurant is definitely going to be our favorite.
Menu turnover sent them in the wrong direction dishes not as goid
Best kept secret in town
Before choosing this restaurant, we checked the menu on the Open Table site. It included a number of sea food options. However when we got to the restaurant a few hours later, the menu was totally different and none of the fish options were on the menu. The waiter told us that those items had not been on the menu for awhile. It was too late to go somewhere else so we made alternative choices. Had their present menu been on the site, we would not have even gone there.
Had dinner with 15 people. Owner very easy to work with when our group keep getting bigger. Josh, our service, was a gem...funny, ensured all the orders were correct, and just a great example of the outstanding restaurant. Food came out quickly and was delicious. Highly recommend!!
Terrible chicken marsala with pasta. The chicken was dry and tasted old. The sweet marsala made the pasta taste like it had an ice cream sauce on it; that's the only flavor it had. The server was not friendly and seemed disinterested. The salad was decent.
We never got a chance to taste the food or experience the restaurant because upon entering we found that there was no A/C and the restaurant was warm for us to enjoy our meal. Really would have liked to have eaten there. We are in the area every year. Would be acceptable any time but summer.
