FYI large sign say Pier with a smaller sign Oyster bar and grill. Arrived to a Nicely lit and decorated room. Seats are in the front with bar seating. Nice easy menu with good selection. Bar has 12+ draft beers. Started with poke tacos which had good taste and fair amount of tuna. I also ordered the clams and linguine which had a generous amount of clam and good flavor. Good value for the area.
Not the best service this time had to ask another waitress for help. Mine was not very attentive.
Food was great!
Service was attentive, food was good but not special, hygiene was so disturbing that I will not go back if given a free meal. The Table had crusted stains on it and the menus had multiple stains and sticky spots on it that I will not go back until this is changed. If this establishment has such low standard to sit people at unclean..unsanitary tables...and provide menus with stains on them that you have to guess what cocktail you are ordering....this is the last time we eat at this restaurant. So why did we stay? We were hungry and did not have an option to go somewhere else. Maybe weak, but a reality. But with an unclean table and soiled menus, can you imagine what the kitchen looks like? Think about it. The pier oyster bar is never a place we can recommend or revisit.
Best burger and fries ever! Great place and excellent quality.
We have eaten here several times and it never disappoints. This trip the highlight was the ahi tuna. Exceptionally enjoyable.
Food and service was
Server was flip, rude and part of the entire server staff that was more interested in talking in a group at the bar than serving. 3 tables kept getting up going
Love, love, love your oysters!
We love oysters and oyster bars so we took a chance while in town on business but what a disaster this place is... Hostess has the personality of a pit viper, waitress is sweet but spread way too thin, drinks took forever, appetizers (simple 6 on the half shell) came without the accompaniments promised on the menu so we had to flag down the waitress and ask for them and wait 10 minutes until they finally arrived and we could start eating. 2nd appetizer was a full 20 minutes behind the first for some stupid reason (kitchen backed up I guess) and then, it took FOREVER to finally get our entrees... The waitress had to come 5 different times to let us know it would be an even longer wait.. The entire restaurant (a whole 5 tables) were in the same boat and we all griped and commiserated amongst eachother. One table got their entrees one at a time LITERALLY spaced out over 30 minutes so none of them could begin until the 4th entree was finally served. Just a complete s---show... Took us TWO hours to eat appetizers and our entrees.. Just torturous.. No management ...Nobody runs this show whatsoever... Really unfortunate as food was actually "ok" and menu is excellent.. Just nobody minding the store.... Who the heck owns this place as all TripAdvisor reviews complain about bad service across the board
While food at Piers was very good the kitchen was agonizingly slow. Complaints to the waitress did not appear to change the pace of kitchen service. This aspect diminishes what could be a completely satisfying experience.
Great food and service the house oysters are delicious. Service was attentive and professional.
Highly recommend Pier for great food and ambience!
Always great here. The nice hostess made it even better.
This is our 4th time here, and we truly do love the establishment, as well as the food.
The service was exceptionally slow on Saturday night, and it seemed our waitress was busy, so there was little checking in on how we were doing.
We had ordered Calamari as a starter, and got fried Oysters instead. She apologized and said she'd put the Calamari in again...however it never came. When I asked, she let us know that it would come with the main meal...would have been nice to know this ahead of time.
Further to this, when the bill came we were charged for both the Calamari and the Oysters, which I don't think should have been.
Our waitress corrected this, but it's unfortunate that we felt less than appreciated, or a focus of attention for her while there.
Beyond this, the energy and food was great, as always!
Drinks were watered down. I ordered a Ketel and club. Didn’t taste any vodka at all. Sent the drink back but they insisted I pay for an additional shot of vodka to put it in the drink myself.
The food was fantastic and I like the vibe of the restaurant. It was a Saturday night and we were not in a hurry but the kitchen was a little backed up so kinda wished we had opted for an appetizer but glad we didn’t because the entrees were amazing and would not have been good to take home! The scallops were THE best I’ve ever had ; large and cooked perfectly! The hubby had the fried chicken which he said was delicious!!!!
This is one of the worst dining experiences that I've had in a long time. It took 15 minutes for wait staff to even show up to my table. And from the beginning she was extremely rushed didn't know the menu and multiple times made us wait for food and or drinks. I spoke with management about it and they're only response was they were really behind. The restaurant was less than half full at the time. Will never go back.
They did comp an appetizer but that was not the point.
Always good food, it’s best to get there early so it’s not as loud. We got there at 745 and by the time we were leaving at 9 it was packed.
First visit for dinner was very good the service was outstanding. The portions were enough just enough food and the valve was worth it. Will definitely be back.
The menu is
Food was amazing! My boyfriend and I had been eyeing this place for a while and finally decided to dine in for an early dinner for our weekly date night.
I started with the raw oysters, which were a good size. I didn’t want to overload on seafood, so I ordered the fried chicken dish as a main course. It was amazing!!! The description immediately caught my eye and the actual taste/flavors were a perfect match. Who would’ve thought you could get an awesome chicken dinner at an oyster bar.
He had the lobster roll and loved it!!!
We’ll definitely be back!
My favorite place in Greensboro for Seafood. The food is great, service is awesome and location is perfect!
Well understaffed, our waitress was friendly and attentive, but she was covering 3 sections due to a lack of staff. The food is good. Best dishes address the different styles of chargrilled oysters.
Every time we go, there is something on the menu that they no longer have available which is dissapointing. I ordered the Lost Coast Tangerine Wheat Beer, but they did not have available. My favorite entree is no longer on the menu. Bring back the Pacific Seabass! Also, your website menu does not match the actual menu which is also deceiving. However, overall, the food and service was good.
If you like oysters this is the place. However my husband and I didn’t and that made the difference. My salad dressing was bland. And the linguini and clams was overly salty and the clams were the smallest I’ve ever had. Very disappointing and will not return.
The service was excellent and our server was very helpful. The oysters were pronominal and I will say the best I have ever had. My only complaint was the extremely small portion of my entree. I ordered the scallops at $24.95 and I would have thought that I would receive more than 4 scallops. Everyone at the table noticed how small the portion was. It more resembled an appetizer. I will go back because the food is good but will have to bypass the scallops.
Oysters were outstanding! New dessert added to the menu was light and refreshing.
Collards should Never be sweet! Collards was a main ingredient for their Charleston Oysters and it was like having dessert... could not eat them. Husband's fish dish also came with Collards and affect was the same. Sisters Fried Flounder plate was strewn haphazardly with the Asparagus with no thought of presentation. No bread for the table, waitress did offer crackers. They do not use cocktail napkins under drinks on tables so there are lots of puddles to deal with. Wait staff uninformed..when asked about preparation of a dish, the comment was "it's good, I had some and it was good". Will not return. Needs help!
Excellent service, delicious mussels, calamari, Pier oysters.
So many things I wanted to order so I will definitely be back!
The hostess was very slow and untrained. Needed to smile more and be more courteous. She seemed like she didn’t want to be there.
They were out of half the menu items
Best Seafood in the Triad!! Grilled Oysters, She Crab Soup, Tuna Poke, Blackend Flounder were all Great. Great atmosphere and service. Restaurant fixtures and facilities were all clean and up to date. I've recommended Pier Oyster Bar & Grill to all of my friends.
Jamie was GREAT! Loved the oyster special $1 big fat oysters! :)
Wonderful selection, and great atmosphere. The oysters are always good. It's great to have a place like this in Downtown Greensboro.
We went out to celebrate and have a good time. The food was delicious and the drinks were well thought out. It was a very positive experience and were will definitely be back.
We were a party of six and told them the time we needed to be done due to a concert. We were never rushed but had plenty of time for appetizers and our meal. Our waitress was delightful and all of us were pleased with our meals
Food was good service was amazing
This is one of my new favorite restaurants in Greensboro. We have been twice and both times everyone in our party was very pleased with the food, atmosphere and service. The fresh oysters are very fresh and tasty. The entrees are excellent as are the sandwiches. Portions are generous. Highly recommended!
Oysters were fresh, and our meal was delicious.
