This is one of the worst dining experiences that I've had in a long time. It took 15 minutes for wait staff to even show up to my table. And from the beginning she was extremely rushed didn't know the menu and multiple times made us wait for food and or drinks. I spoke with management about it and they're only response was they were really behind. The restaurant was less than half full at the time. Will never go back.
They did comp an appetizer but that was not the point.
Always good food, it’s best to get there early so it’s not as loud. We got there at 745 and by the time we were leaving at 9 it was packed.
First visit for dinner was very good the service was outstanding. The portions were enough just enough food and the valve was worth it. Will definitely be back.
The menu is
Food was amazing! My boyfriend and I had been eyeing this place for a while and finally decided to dine in for an early dinner for our weekly date night.
I started with the raw oysters, which were a good size. I didn’t want to overload on seafood, so I ordered the fried chicken dish as a main course. It was amazing!!! The description immediately caught my eye and the actual taste/flavors were a perfect match. Who would’ve thought you could get an awesome chicken dinner at an oyster bar.
He had the lobster roll and loved it!!!
We’ll definitely be back!
My favorite place in Greensboro for Seafood. The food is great, service is awesome and location is perfect!
Every time we go, there is something on the menu that they no longer have available which is dissapointing. I ordered the Lost Coast Tangerine Wheat Beer, but they did not have available. My favorite entree is no longer on the menu. Bring back the Pacific Seabass! Also, your website menu does not match the actual menu which is also deceiving. However, overall, the food and service was good.
If you like oysters this is the place. However my husband and I didn’t and that made the difference. My salad dressing was bland. And the linguini and clams was overly salty and the clams were the smallest I’ve ever had. Very disappointing and will not return.
The service was excellent and our server was very helpful. The oysters were pronominal and I will say the best I have ever had. My only complaint was the extremely small portion of my entree. I ordered the scallops at $24.95 and I would have thought that I would receive more than 4 scallops. Everyone at the table noticed how small the portion was. It more resembled an appetizer. I will go back because the food is good but will have to bypass the scallops.
Oysters were outstanding! New dessert added to the menu was light and refreshing.
Collards should Never be sweet! Collards was a main ingredient for their Charleston Oysters and it was like having dessert... could not eat them. Husband's fish dish also came with Collards and affect was the same. Sisters Fried Flounder plate was strewn haphazardly with the Asparagus with no thought of presentation. No bread for the table, waitress did offer crackers. They do not use cocktail napkins under drinks on tables so there are lots of puddles to deal with. Wait staff uninformed..when asked about preparation of a dish, the comment was "it's good, I had some and it was good". Will not return. Needs help!
Excellent service, delicious mussels, calamari, Pier oysters.
So many things I wanted to order so I will definitely be back!
The hostess was very slow and untrained. Needed to smile more and be more courteous. She seemed like she didn’t want to be there.
They were out of half the menu items
Best Seafood in the Triad!! Grilled Oysters, She Crab Soup, Tuna Poke, Blackend Flounder were all Great. Great atmosphere and service. Restaurant fixtures and facilities were all clean and up to date. I've recommended Pier Oyster Bar & Grill to all of my friends.
Jamie was GREAT! Loved the oyster special $1 big fat oysters! :)
Wonderful selection, and great atmosphere. The oysters are always good. It's great to have a place like this in Downtown Greensboro.
We went out to celebrate and have a good time. The food was delicious and the drinks were well thought out. It was a very positive experience and were will definitely be back.
We were a party of six and told them the time we needed to be done due to a concert. We were never rushed but had plenty of time for appetizers and our meal. Our waitress was delightful and all of us were pleased with our meals
Food was good service was amazing
This is one of my new favorite restaurants in Greensboro. We have been twice and both times everyone in our party was very pleased with the food, atmosphere and service. The fresh oysters are very fresh and tasty. The entrees are excellent as are the sandwiches. Portions are generous. Highly recommended!
Oysters were fresh, and our meal was delicious.
been here multiple times, and each time i experience extremely slow and confused service. otherwise, a wonderful place! food is delicious.
Jimmy Buffet on the stero..... Oysters on the half shell
Very enjoyable. Food was good, delivered in a reasonable timeframe. Reasonable wine selection with varying prices so there is something for about everybody. Service was very good. We have eaten at the Pier several times and have consistently found all of these to be the case, with rare exception. Definitely recommend.
We had a wonderful Mother's Day lunch at Pier this year! I love the atmosphere, food & the sweet & spicy mule is my fav! The service was 5 star! I really felt like if our waitress went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with our time spent there. Thanks for a memorable Mother's Day!
Stick with the basics - the oysters are the best. We enjoyed them prepared Charleston Rockefeller and Pier style. Peel and eat shrimp 🍤 were also good. The scallops entree and the fried chicken were disappointing...not quite up to the level of the oysters.
Nice gem in Greensboro. Get so tied of the fried food and fast food options. I would put their tuna over saba noodles over just about any dish. Seafood was fresh, drinks were creative, and a nice find.
Great location with excellent service and food. Prices were surprisingly affordable for how much quality the food had. I had the lobster roll and my husband had the shrimp and grits, we both left very satisfied.
Large party of 13. Seated quickly. Excellent wait staff. Excellent food. Would recommend
Not bad but other options in the area exceed the quality of food we had with better service. If downtown and looking for seafood we would dine here again.
I've dined at Pier multiple times and it's always excellent quality food and service. This time I brought 9 friends with me for a girls night and they did a super job handling a large group. Kudos to their staff for making it just right!
This was our first time at the restaurant. It was disappointing. Our waiter was wonderful. He made solid recommendations. The salmon was very tasty. Broccoli was a little overcooked, but it didn't ruin our meal. Dessert was delicious! We will definitely visit again.
We had heard great things about Pier but had several issues that will keep us from returning. It took approx. 20 minutes to receive our steamed oyster appetizer. At an oyster bar that's surprising. Next I went to the restroom and there were rings in the toilet so apparently they hadn't been cleaned in over a week. When several in our group received homemade chips, they were still soggy and extremely undercooked. The kitchen staff and the waitstaff should have noticed and corrected this issue before bringing them to the table. We did receive fries when we pointed out the undercooked chips. The food was good and the atmosphere was great but because we didn't have a good overall experience we will choose another restaurant next time.
Overall good experience. I was somewhat disappointed in the shrimp and grits entree. The sauce on top was way too heavy.
I expected more of a selection of oysters at an oyster bar. Their were 2 types to choose from. The dozen we ordered were the size of cow tongues. The steamed was shrimp was pretty good, My daughters salmon was good and my lobster roll was not bad. The fries were good but I could tell they were a few minutes old. We ate early so the restaurant was not full or busy. Fries should never be limp coming out of the kitchen. I will probably try again at some point but not in a rush.
Nice atmosphere, great oysters and they let you sample wine! We enjoyed our dinner and the service was great.
The food took forever to arrive. Almost an hour between placing our order and getting entrees. Some of the food was cold
I was very impressed that the manager called me in advance to ask about my food sensitivities. My server did a great job of offering me options that met my needs. The food was great! And I thought the price was fair for the excellent quality we received!
If you are allergic to dairy, this is not the place for you. They were unable to grill a plain piece of fish or other protein so we had to leave and eat elsewhere. The server was lovely.
