I've been to & brought guest's to Pier 22 many times & really enjoyed it. But this last time not so much. My daughter's salmon sandwich left much to be desired. Lots of bread but little salmon.
On my last visit the French fries were limp and cold & the wait person suggested that next time I should ask for extra crispy. I did...big mistake! Too hard!
May I suggest that you offer commercial fries preseasoned in addition to fresh cut? They're much tastier in my opinion. Or, at least, twice fry your fresh cut.
Had the grouper sandwich. Fish was small piece and overcooked. Bread was dry
Always a favorite when we are showing people around out local community of Bradenton. Bartenders are excellent and very nice, as are the wait staff and hosts. Food quality is equal to any local restaurant and the price is good for the quality and quantity you receive.
There is no parking spaces available, no valet, & no golf cart to help you get to the restaurant. Some ordered a breakfast dish (like eggs benedict) & the home fries were greasy & soggy. However, the worst was the service. The young man said he would be right back to take our order (had already been there for over 30 minutes). He came back 30 minutes later. When we said we'd been ready to order for quite a while, he said he had to go to the bathroom. He was very unorganized & we will not be back. This was our 2nd time of trying their Sunday brunch menu. There was also no soap at one of two sinks in ladies room. I wish I could provide more positive feedback. We did tell the manager about the service.
We went early, 11:00am. The server and restaurant were amicable to our changes fruit rather than potatoes and hollandaise on the side. Relax brunch with friends.
We had wonderful drinks and food. Oysters were particularly good and so were the shrimp and grits.
The food was amazing the Buffalo was cooked amazingly I would definitely go back and definitely will The food was great
Very good food and service.
We love Pier 22 because of the beautiful patio and river view. It has been one of our favorite restaurants to visit when we have guests. Unfortunately, food and service seem to have changed for the worse in the last year or so. I had the fresh fish of the day, barramundi, which was served blackened with an uninspired mango salsa lacking heat and flavor. The food was just there on the plate with no attempt at an attractive presentation. The fish was just ok accompanied by mundane mixed veggies. The rice and corn pilaf wasn’t bad. The crab cakes were bland with no lump crab to be found. Our friend did enjoy her seafood jambalaya which looked like it had a good amount of seafood, The grouper, artichoke, and cheese gratin appetizer was delicious.
Our server was not very attentive & didn’t pay much attention to us during the meal. She brought me the wrong salad, which I just ate because she wasn’t anywhere around so that I could ask for the correct salad. The Caesar and 1971 salads are very different so I don’t know how she managed to mix them up. My husband thought she had an attitude. Maybe she was having a bad day but poor service certainly impacts a dining experience.
The food is pricey and should be better than it was. Our dinner for three was $147 and that was with drinks and an appetizer at happy hour prices! The happy hour menu has been reduced to just a few items, another disappointment.
We decided that we’ll visit the restaurant again but just for lunch. They seem to do a better job with that.
Waitress wasn't the usual personality that we get. Didn't greet us and just wasn't happy it seemed.
Yes, I have already recommended Pier 22 to friends. It is such a beautiful setting and the food and service is fantastic.
We eat at Pier 22 regularly and were delighted to show it off to our friends from back home.
Four of us enjoyed the spectacular balsamic chips and a plate of crisp calamari as appetizers. Then we dove into our various dinner selections, all lit by small, clear bulbs on a large deck overlooking Bradenton harbor.
Finally we split a key lime tart with a lovely meringue topping.
Our server kept us eating and drinking, all the while with a sweet smile and a cheerful attitude.
As alwlays we were very pleased with Pier 22. Sadly, one of the meals was not satisfactory and the waitress notices he hadn't eated much of the meat entree. Soon afterward a manager came to the table to inquire about the situation. She apologized profusely and deducted the cost of that meal from our bill. What a nice gesture but typical of the serivce at Pier 22. I doubt many, if any, restaurants would be so caring and generous. Keep up the good work. Pier 22 is one of the best restaurants in the area.
Great location particularly the outdoor dining...lots of great reasonably priced entrees. Large wine selection and great choice of top shelf liquors. Service always top notch!
Always a great experience
The food was extremely bland, service was somewhat slow. Probably would not go back.
Nice evening! Have been to Pier 22 many, many times over the years.
Food was fresh and delicious and our servers were amazing. We had a large party of 25 and they did a fabulous job with everything.
We brought our friends there and it was their first time - they loved the place and the outdoor patio. The service was great as usual and the food was exceptional as usual. This is our go to restaurant in the Bradenton/Palmetto area.
I was about to place an order for sushi when the waitress cut me off and said the sushi bar was closed because a table of 20 came in and they all wanted sushi so the sushi bar was closed to the rest of the restaurant. I ordered the house special martini, “The Dirty,” which according to the menu featured blue cheese stuffed olives. The Dirty arrived without the blue cheese olives. We ordered prime rib and tempura shrimp both were ok but the start of our experience colored our overall impression. We don’t plan to go back.
Beautiful outdoor setting, great food enjoyed very much
This was most enjoyable occasion and the evening was a perfect finish to a great day!
As a frequent diner we love the food taste and presentation. The recent change to scallops kept me from ordering for the last 2 years but I decided to be adventurous this trip. The scallops did not disappoint but the stringy/foul tasting “stir fry” vegetables were not eatable. Thankfully, I did trade the “sticky rice” for your prize risotto. I will be back end of January, February, and March (a monthly visit) when we have out of town guests and surely will try a work around the “not so compatible” sides. Ask the chef to eat his/her pairing just for me. PS. It was disappointing to use open table comment and the hostess was completely unaware that I asked for a window table so my guests could look out at the beautiful manatee. I will go back to phoning for my reservation.
Food and atmosphere were amazing! Gorgeous sunset and will definitely be back next year!
Wonderful dining experience!
Everything was great but we didn’t have the best table. Sort of in a corner and the bar area was noisy. Next time will ask for another table. It was my husband’s 85 th bday so I wanted everything to be perfect. Food and service were top notch
Had my 73rd birthday party at Pier 22, excellent food and service.
We had a wonderful meal. We enjoyed blue crab for our appetizer and the grouper Oscar with hollandaise which was a special the night we went. It was perfectly prepared. Service was great!
You’re paying for the view. Server took forever to take orders or bring food. Food was blend. Nothing special about this place other than the location and view.
excellent food, service and the view is unmatched.
Pier 22 is reliably an excellent place to have a meal whether your desire is casual or mote upbeat. The service has been spotty in the past but the food in general has been excellent. The lobster bisque was poorly made this trip. Food otherwise very good.
Get rid of the $0.50 charge for a blue cheese stuffed olive in the martini. It cheapens the overall experience.
I brought a friend from Colorado and he was very impressed. His lobster was perfect, as was my Filet. The potatoes were outstanding, as usual, and the lemon meringue pie was great. Nice evening overlooking the water. ...5star all the way.
New Year dinner. Arrived much earlier than our reservation and restaurant was very accommodating. Had surf & turf. Best steak I’ve had in a long time. In fact took some home and had steak & eggs for breakfast. Staff was busy but attentive. Quite a nice experience.
Not as nice as last year. Heat of food was questionable at best. Buffalo rib eye excellent. Deserts,ok.
NY eve! Last minute reservations outside very comfy! Food was just ok...overpriced! Escargots were awful, instead of garlic and butter, it had a overwhelming white sauce. They took it off the bill. I had wasabi crusted ahi tuna and it was sooooo spicy! My girlfriend who likes spicy food could barely taste it actual ahi! Lamb chops were practically raw and had to be sent back. The service by Mindy was impeccable and that’s what made our evening so enjoyable! She took care of everything! I go there frequently for brunch, oh those oysters and will continue to do so!
main complaint would be that they did not have one single vegetarian entree on the menu for new year's eve.
Went on New Year's Eve for an early dinner. Drinks, service, food was good & very relaxing dinner. Can't beat the "valet service." Only disappointment was because of it being a Holiday, they only offer a "special menu". However, our choices were: Surf & Turf - Filet Steak & Scallops & Rack of Lamb. Food was delicious. Will return to enjoy another dinner.
