Food was great
Beautiful view of the water and sunset
My wife and I dined at Pier 22 to celebrate her birthday and the food and service was excellent. The evening was made more memorable when a rainstorm blew in just as we had finished a delicious peanut butter pie. Quite an exciting evening.
outdoor dining is amazing!
Waitress was very attentive and food was excellent!
highly recommend
Going off previous reviews we had above average expectations. Saturday brunch on the patio. Lovely spring day, great views but, service and food were sub par. Service help appeared poorly trained. Had to ask for napkins and silverware after our food arrived. Basic bar food quality. Nothing special. Great outdoor dining atmosphere. Drinks were moderately priced which was a good thing considering how long we waited for someone to take our food order. Good thing we weren't in a hurry. Arrived at 11:30 left at 1:00 PM.
Overall always a nice dinner...it was a bit crowded with a wedding going on, which took up about half of outdoor seating which we would have preferred. There was know apparent way to request an outside table when reserving thru open table...left request in comment...didn't seem to work.
Overall still a very nice dinner
Unfortunately not the best experience this time. My husbands Grouper Oscar was sent back as it obviously had been sitting under a heat lamp with glazed over, barley warm hollandaise sauce. I had the Wasabi tuna, which was ok, but small portion, 6 medallions I believe, with white rice and stir fried vegetables that were barely warm and the rice was crusted over as well. Our server seemed annoyed with us. When the dining room manager brought out our redos she apologized for my husbands fish and I was told that it’s just the way they make their rice, sticky sushi rice. I have had penalty of sushi rice and well aware of the way it is supposed to taste, this was a ball of crusted over cool rice, not at all what I have had at that very same restaurant in the past. My husband was comped a dessert for his trouble. There was a private event going on, a wedding, at the same time we were eating. I believe the kitchen may have been a bit overwhelmed which was reflected in the quality of the dinner we were served. Definitely not a quality meal for entrees at $32 and $36.
Food was just ok, service was just ok pretty mediocre place but the sunset view and watching dolphins is I guess why people really go here
Always a good place with o/s food and service. Ambiance is great right along the Manatee river.
Had a great meal and visit with friends. They now have a new place to enjoy.
Wonderful experience taking my mom (who is visiting from out of state) to lunch there. All around great place especially to take out of town visitors.
We selected Pier 22 because of its location on the Manatee River and the outdoor patio. The ambiance was very nice and our waiter was attentive, but the food was only average. One diner had the jambalaya and it was watery and very average. One diner's fish was a bit overcooked. My scallops were cooked perfectly. Desserts were good. I'd go again for the atmosphere if I was in the neighborhood. Sad that places with views continue to think the food only has to be good enough.
Nice greeting upon arrival. Good bar vibe. Nice view. Very good food.
One of our favorite “Go To” restaurants. Food was great, service equally good and a wonderful view
We were seated right next to the door for the out door bar area. There was a large amount of people there....extremely. loud and destroyed out dinner....we spent almost 200 dollars for our dinner....which we thought would be in quiet setting to enjoy our guest. very disappointing ..... If I wanted to eat in a b ar I would have gone else where....David Liehr
Beautiful setting in the shade by the water, cool breeze, attentive but unobtrusive waitress and good food at a decent price. Who could ask for anything more?
Easter dinner was fantastic!
The waitress was fantastic!! We asked to speak with a manager so we could tell her her how great she was and no one ever came. They sat us next to a speaker which was very loud. Overall the food was great and so was our service!
Easter! Our server was great!! Her name was Katherine J
My husband and I both ordered prime rib, it was delicious
as always!! We love this place!
was nice but disappointed because we reserved quite some time ago for an outdoor table and a table outside was not saved for us. we ended up inside by a bar while did not appreciate since we made our reservation well in advance.
Food was pricey and quality lacking. Went for Easter Brunch but the menu offered was a dinner menu. Only I asked for brunch items did the waitress tell me they had a seafood omelette and lobster eggs Benedict. Went with the eggs Benedict. When it arrived the eggs were not poached properly( they were hard), the potatoes, peppers and onions had to have been prepared the night before as they were soggy and the Hollandaise sauce was flavorless. Lobster was a couple of small pieces on each English muffin. Our waitress was great. We sat outside and enjoyed the views of the water. Still not planning on going back anytime soon.
There was a wedding going on on the deck which was nice. The atmosphere was very nice, the waiter was friendly but a little slow. The food was good, better than average, but not quality “chef” great.
We like this place for the atmosphere and because it’s close to our home and the food is always good and consistent. This is great for a weekday lunch/weekend brunch or Friday night date. Not for special occasions..
There was a wedding going on and it detracted from our experience. Should have been told when we made reservation.
Easter brunch
Unfortunately, we dined at Pier 22 on a very windy evening. We had planned to eat outside on the deck, which would have been great, but the wind was blowing everything off the table making outdoor dining too challenging.
We moved indoors to the bar area which was super noisy. The good news is... we were able to watch golf and basketball on tv. The bad news is... it was a loud, sports bar experience instead of an outdoor dining on the river and enjoy the view experience.
Given that, the service was good, the server and hostesses were friendly and professional, and the food was fine. The sushi boat was average, the fish tacos were fine... all the food was good for a sports bar, but not good enough to designate the restaurant a dining destination.
Overall, the food was tasty. However, my Grouper Oscar was overcooked, leaving it dryer than it should have been. Otherwise, everything was very good.
Awesome birthday dinner for my niece...special of the night. Absolutely delicious.
Excellent service ,food and atmosphere!
The food was excellent although they gave me my husbands filet and him mine.
The service was not good- as I ordered a cocktail when my meal came and the cocktail arrived after I was finished eating.
The ambience- there was NO ambience-- I requested outside seating- we were put in a corner next to a smelly barrel and the waitstaff service station. The website says the place is UPSCALE- I dressed for upscale but could have been in ripped jeans as there was nothing upscale about my experience.
Lastly- the noise level was LOUD- we were a party of 4 surrounded by very large parties of screaming children
Terrible experience
Remove the UPSCALE from the website
Took guests and had a lively evening!
Dined outside on a surprising dirty table that we wiped down ourselves.
I say surprising because we did have a reservation, didn't just show up.
Tables were socially distanced, which we appreciated
Food was excellent, but service only good. Nice atmosphere.
Have had better times at Pier 22 in the past but an enjoyable meal nonetheless.

We'll be back!
We ate lunch at Pier 22 on Give Back day! 100% of the cost of our meal went to Meals on Wheels. That was very generous of Pier 22. Glad to have someone like them in our community. Thank you Pier 22!
Excellent service, staff was very attentive, tables are well spaced, the meals were excellent with a nice menu, and they have an interesting "meals on wheels" program. A very nice evening.
Had a wonderful dinner outside on the patio in beautiful weather
Very pleasant evening, great food, lovely ambiance.
Excellent as always. Had the fish and chips and the grouper piccata. Both very good. Service was excellent. Would highly recommend
Our waitress indicated that she was relatively new. May need a little more training, especially serving wine. Drunken Sailor drink was lacking rum. Food was very good. Better experience than previously at Pier 22.
Wonderful on-the-water experience. Beautiful views, very competent staff, delicious food. Amy was our personable, knowledgeable, and understanding waitress. She helps make this a place we look forward to visiting.
Sunday brunch was terrible, eggs Benedict were over cooked hollendaise congealed, Bloody Mary drinks were watery. Have eaten dinner here previously and lunch as well, always good quality food but Skip the Sunday brunch
