Every thing was excellent. However. we missed the seafood and prime rib buffet, which is offered on Friday and Saturday.
Menu was boring and lacked choices. Food was bland. May have been due to COVID issues, but still disappointing considering that dining options at Callaway Gardens are very limited. Feels like they are not even trying.
Delicious food, great service, I absolutely love the Valentine's Day dinner menu
Unfortunately on a holiday weekend this restaurant ran out of food. Seafood to be exact.
Was very surprised by the dining area. It was not the same room as the pictures showed, but was a very romantic.
Limited menu, asked if a wine list was available, response was "there should be". Onion soup tasted like beef bouillon, little cheese, soggy bread. Chicken tenders over cooked and dry. Tried to order fish and chips and told they didnt have any fish. Served the cheese dip with potato chips. Not going to comment on the meal our guests had, but would never take guess there again for lunch.
The food at the dinner was fantastic. I totally enjoyed he Onion Soup, the Shrimp and Grits and the great Cheesecake.
The Food and service was excellent. Very nice atmosphere. will definitely be coming back.
The food was great and friendly service and staff. We ate dinner there 2 different times.
This seafood/prime rib buffet was not worth anywhere close to $44.95 per person. It was sub-par to Callaway's dining in the past. I realize Covid is a factor but the food was not worth the money. And the selection was limited. Not like previous buffets in the past. Callaway has really messed up!
This was the second time we were here, and was outstanding. We would recommend the Piedmont Ding Room to anyone who would like an extraordinary evening out for a very romantic evening.
A separate line for reservations would eliminate the long wait .we spent a good 20 minutes just waiting next in line for our table that was reserved.
Getting into and dining at the Piedmont was very nice, Covid19 precautions aside, but the obvious decline of attention to all things horticulture is disappointing.
The food was very well prepared. I especially like the swiss chard that came with my salmon. The waiter was attentive to my wife's needs, as she has to eat gluten free. I ordered unsweetened tea, and the waiter brought me sweetened tea. It was a good fifteen minutes before he cam around to check on us, and correct the mistake.
Felt good about their Covid precautions. Everyone was masked in the lobby as well as walking around the restaurant. All servers were masked. We had young children and were seated in a a bar area where the other tables had young children as well. We always appreciate this. Tables were spaced out.
Our waitress (Natasha?) was great. Bar drinks were good. Wine list is limited. Steaks were cooked to our specifications, But the quality of meat did not warrant the price.
Overall a good experience. We would return.
Don’t bother booking reservations, they don’t acknowledge them. This isn’t out of bitterness, we were seated immediately once they opened, but the hostess made sure that we were aware that they never look at them.
Also, they don’t open until 8am. Which was a little bit frustrating that I booked a 7:30 slot for breakfast, and had to wait until 8 for them to open, which would have been fine if we would have known.
Great experience! Good food and excellent and friendly servers!
We wish, though, that all servers should wear gloves at all times (only a couple of them didn’t have gloves and made us feel less safe)
We had a reservation, but they were not acknowledging reservations, so we waited for a table to be “set up for 5” for about 10 minutes. Our server was hardly seen. We had to get our own coffee paid separately from a coffee cart. Cold buffet food with minimal options for the cost. Our server was nice but not available. Overall, would not recommend or go again. Maybe it was Covid but it was a terrible waste of time, money, and a meal.
It was a great experience! The only thing I will add is a green salad to the line up of offerings. The cooks or servers in the line were not too knowledgeable of what they were serving. The prime rib, although was tasty, it is NOT served with a gravy as they did, but with an au jus. Overall great experience and we will come back if we are ever in that part of town.
The seafood and prime rib buffet was outstanding. The collard greens were probably the best thing on the buffet. The service was stellar, both the buffet servers and the waitress.
Food was mediocre and expensive. We had the seafood buffet so possibly menu items would be better?
Surrounding was pleasant, main dining room decor was plain not dressed for the season. Was not ready to receive guest (staff did not want to sit guest until 5pm) but line started to become very long and guest were anxious.
Food was good, prime rib tender, crab legs overflowing as well as shrimp but lacked seasoning (plain, no taste of bay seasoning or any seasoning). Still food was delicious.
There was no other restaurant close by so Piedmont Dining Room was it.
Not enough menu selections. Didnt like the food taste.
Waitress not friendly.
I was there Christmas night. Nothing special about it, was told it was full (no more reservations) but got there and there were numerous open tables and no line (not counting tables spaced apart for covid reasons). Should have ordered from menu as buffet was average at best (not worth the $30+ price). Wait staff very good.
Christmas Day Dinner
The very first person we met was the hostess, and instead of a warm greeting we were yelled at. When spending over $200 on a meal I would have expected, “welcome to the Piedmont Grill” instead we got “where yo mask at” “you can’t come up in here like that”. Next time I decide to drop hundreds of dollars on a meal it will not be at this establishment.
Christmas Brunch! Food was outstanding, waitress was exceptional! COVID guidelines on point
Prime rib was more like fillet of boot sol.
Broccolini was also of poor quality and tuff as tree limbs.
The price didn't match the food. Items have been taken off buffet due to COVID-19 and the price should be adjusted. I was very disappointed with the breakfast. It was good the last couple of times I had it.
How disappointing! We had a reservation at the resort and decided to have our Christmas dinner at their restaurant. From the arrival time to the leaving time, we all were so disappointed. Not only the waiter treated us so poorly and indifferent but the food was just awful. We eat out all the time and this was the worst of the food we ever experienced. It was cold and uncooked. The fries were just strange looking and cold again. Too bad we had no other choice otherwise we would have left.
We were told that the menu is currently limited due to covid, so that explains why we felt the selections were sparse. While the food quality was fine, it certainly wasn't great; for the price, we can only rate it 3 out of 5. My wife is more sensitive to food temperature and thought her risotto was too cold. And while I am happy with more reasonably sized portions than are served at most chains, this was too small.
So while I expect to pay a premium at a hotel restaurant, I was still disappointed with the meal for the price.
Completely uninspired. No passion, no desire to create a memorable experience, no sense of urgency. Absence of leadership. Staff standing around and removing PPE to snack. Avocado covered in lemon to prevent browning, which makes it uneatable. $14 for a slice of cheesecake. This could be so much more, but instead it is regrettably mediocre.
The onion soup, ribeye, shrimp and grits and bread pudding were all outstanding.
The ambiance, decor and condition of the dining room needs significanr improvement.
This was our 1st experience going to Piedmont dining. We saw the All You Can Eat Seafood & Prime Rib on the Callaway Gardens website and it looked fabulous. Sadly, we should have just gone to Golden Corral. Definitely not worth $45 pp and the hour drive there.
My wife and I had the all you can eat crab legs and prime rib. The food was Amazing, probably the best prime rib I've ever had. Overall, we had a great experience.
My sister and I dined here while visiting Callaway Gardens for the holiday light show. We were lucky to get a table and were seated in the lounge close to the huge fireplace - great ambiance and warm on a cold night. The restaurant did such a good job during this COVID challenge, converting the prime rib and seafood buffet into a safe option. Servers were on hand to serve "cafeteria style" anything and everything you wanted from the buffet. The layout was beautiful, especially considering that salads, dressings, and condiments had to be dispensed in ready-to-go plastic containers. The desserts were to die for, and ready in perfect portions to sample more than one at a time!
Food was great!!
The crab legs and oysters were delicious! For dessert, we had red velvet cake and cheesecake. They both were delicious. Everything was great! The servers were very cognizant of the pandemic and kept CDC Guidelines at the forefront of their serving. Everyone had on masks, were socially distanced, and practicing protocol such as the servers only touching the plates. I ended spending $100 for both me and my 8 year old to eat. It was worth every penny because the ambiance was everything!
This is the worst restaurant you can eat at when visiting Callaway Gardens. Over priced buffet with over cooked food. Crab was so over cooked would not pull out of shell.oh yeah and the prime rib was more like prime shoe sole. Dont waste any money here ,breakfast was just as bad.
