Pied a Terre's intimate setting has 11 tables inside and an outdoor dining area from tables of 2 to larger parties of 45.
We serve contemporary Mediterranean / French cuisine in a fine dining atmosphere. No cream, very little butter, no flour nor cornstarch in the sauces that are only reductions, everything is homemade from fresh products.
Our menu changes 3 to 4 times a year. We offer a tasting menu, and a la carte menu and special promotion menus in summer.
Our Wine Spectator Award (2013/14/15/16/17/18) wine list features 320 international and domestic selections.
We can accommodate any dietary requirements or personal preferences.

The tasting menu paired with wines suggested by the owner is the best annual food experience for us. We have purposely flown here for the last 6 years from Atlanta to dine.
The food is exquisite and the wines are from small and hidden gems from around the world.

The service was terrible. We were the only couple in the restaurant (yes! completely empty) and the waitress forgot to serve water after we ask her 3 times. While we were enjoying our food, she didnt asked if we were looking for another glass of wine or more bread. Terrible for the restaurant that was losing money and terrible for our experience.

We come back here every visit to Miami for excellent cuisine fabulous foie gras and superb guidance by the restaurateur through his replete wine menu. It is a nice oasis of tranquility and civility off the strip.

I was not informed when I made the reservation that they were only offering a price fixed menu for Valentine’s Day. It was quite expensive in light of this and I would not have dined there then had I known. The atmosphere is very quiet and decidedly different from the rest of South Beach. I’m not quite sure why but the service that night was terrible. The servers were awkward, forgetful and seemed a bit confused. I’m sorry because I had wanted to go there for quite some time and Valentine’s Day seemed like a great opportunity.
Always a good dining experience at Pie ....it never disappoints!! It is expensive but the price is equivalent to the quality of food.

Although the food and atmosphere are wonderful, service was so terrible I’m not sure we will return as well as our guests. It took almost 30 minutes to get our cocktails, 3 glasses of white wine, I had to ask for bread and butter 3 times, we finally got two of the smallest pieces of bread and never got the butter. The most ridiculous was that our bottle of red wine which was ordered when we ordered our glasses of white wine was delivered to our table when we were 3/4 through our entree’s and we continued to ask for the wine at least 4 times. To top off the night, the server spilled an entire glass of red wine all over me and all over the restaurant. Yes, those things happen but when we were not offered anything as recognition for their errors, we were surprised. They seriously need to get their act together. Friends were sitting two tables away from ours and they had the exact same experience. We are very sad to lose what was once a great restaurant.
Sleepy excellent French in South Beach--now 9 years and best kept secret for French food at finest in the 305. Overachieves from reservation system to landing in art deco Cadet Hotel---Clark Gables home for a while and Pied a Terre--30-35 seats--quiet and reserved with a loud cheer for excellence. Terrific service and the food hits a note beyond that starting with excellent trio of Foie Gras done 4 different ways--each better than the last--the terrine--the poach and the pan seared with passion fruit and the potato gnocchi filled foie gras--all and each as good as I have ever had--sweetbreads are done perfectly as well---Go to Beet Salad --will be memorable and a star. The main courses of Halibut over risotto with wild mushrooms--the Duck a la Orange hits all the marks and the desserts overachieve as well with the floating islands that will smash all diets yet is as light as aire with the ever fresh plump berries surrounding the anglais made from heaven.
And the wine list is tailor made for everyone--not just overpriced known names--but carefully selected growers wines from small artful chateaus--especially the champagnes--downright accessible prices--same champagnes as La Bernadine--most famous restaurant in NYC.
Go there as soon as you can and experience real french food like no other in the 305.

Phenominal experience, with superbly defined menu items that transport you to Paris, while still near the pulse of South Beach Miami. The faux gras sampler is not to be missed ~ for the variety of ways to experience the sensational tastes. Wine list offering is top notch as well.
I reserved this place for my wife’s birthday.
I put this in the reservation, but I do not think the administration even looked at it.
The owner, I suppose it was him, was only interested in a positive rating of his place.
Food had nothing exceptional.
Sweat-bread was interesting as appetizer, but the Terrine de foie gras was injected with a kind of mousse, not very pleasant when you ate it.
The Filet was more than average, and the Bouillabaisse had nothing to do with the South of France Original. It was totally tasteless.
Service was a real adventure, as there was only one young lady serving the whole restaurant. So if you wanted mores water, more bread, or only your bottle of champagne served, you had to wait your turn, after the whole other customers were served.
Patrick is a master at welcoming guests and settling them into an evening as pleasing as any in fine restaurants in his native France. Assembling a meal and wine pairings from the selections was a joyful experience with Patrick’s expert guidance. For a step away from the activity on the beach a couple of blocks away, and an immersion in a different time and place, visit Pied a Terre.
Superb meal. Excellent service. The kind of dinner you keep hoping to find for that very special occasion. Will return frequently.

Foie gras was amazing. Tried it fried, poached, and pan fried.
Our first time at Pied a Terre . A restaurant where you can have normal conversation, no loud music and no loud people and not freezing.
After 30 years that we are leaving in this country ,it was really the first time we had a so pleasant atmosphere for diner.
The service was excellent , the food of high quality and the owner Patrick Gruest very helpful to explain the way the dishes are made and the origin of the ingredients .

Though the website said there was a fixed price menu beyond the tasting menu, this did not exist ..however, our dining experience was superb.. when we arrived the staff came out to help with my husband’s rollator. We were the first diners of the evening and very quickly the pretty room filled . Since I don’t drink, my husband had a Martini which was not too wet ..The foie grasse choices were very good.. I then had the fillet and my husband selected the SeaBass . Presentation was beautiful and choices were nicely prepared and delicious.. not too saucy for a French restaurant. We decided to share dessert.. The piece de resistance was the deconstructed log with a divine tart sorbet to offset the rich , but not overly sweet chocolate with blackberries which was on the side of the Marscapone and marinated strawberries. When we asked for the bill, it came very quickly . Service was fast and efficient..returning guests were treated with more attention. I definitely would go back next time we are in Miami Beach
Another splendid meal in one of Florida's finest dining rooms. It is quiet and intimate; not stuffy or precious. The food is as good as any in Miami. The host is warm and generous. I even managed to sustain an interesting conversation with my companion. This is not a restaurant -- it is an opportunity.

Just off wild, crazy Collins Avenue is this surprising hideaway, tucked into a hotel so close to the madness that is Miami Beach, yet seemingly miles away. Entering the hotel's reception area, one feels drawn back to the 1950's, surrounded as well by memorabilia of that era. With a 7:15 p.m. reservation for two, we were somewhat surprised, given our proximity to the host of mediocre dining establishments on Collins and Ocean Drive (yes, there are some fine restaurants along those streets, but many whose survival is a function of having landed leases in those locations), that we were the first guests of the evening (we were ultimately joined by another party of 4 some 30 minutes or so later). This restaurant is not for the masses, however, which includes for us the overly bright dining room, which we would have found more relaxing if the lights were dimmed. We chose to do the tasting menu, as the waiters did an excellent job of explaining the unique preparations and flavors on the menu. While none of the dishes was a "10", they ranged (in our judgment) from 6.5-9, so were certainly pleasant. One of us also chose the wine pairings, all of which turned out to be white wines, reflecting the dishes chosen; given his love for red wines, he might have liked to sample a red, but the wines served were appropriate for the coursing. The staff was excellent and knowledgeable. Overall, as a well traveled diner, I found this a pleasant meal, not an outstanding one. I would recommend this "with reservations".
Pompous, egotistical maitre d who forgot the wine list and when wine finally arrived meal was over. The squab was minuscule like they had ran out, two small pieces, don’t be hungry. Had out of town guests and we were very disappointed. They need to do something about the curtains, they had holes. This is a very expensive restaurant, they can afford to do better.

They offered him more wine while he was waiting but then in the end charged him an extremely high price for the very light pour they had given him while waiting

Attendance in Miami Beach has been up and down this last months. We understand your disappointment at this level. But apparently you appreciated our food and service and the high season starting now it will change the environment at this level. Looking forward for your next visit
We were 2nd table seated in small restaurant, dead quiet. Asked for some music which we got at end of meal. Another couple arrived & left, just no ambiance & staff were not present unless serving. Food was very good fois gras terrine & venison excellent .

This is the fourth year we have returned to pied a terre during our annual visit to South Florida and Miami South Beach. It is a quiet place to have an amazing French cuisine experience. Every taste on the tip of your tongue is an orgastic epicurean experience!

Wr arrived on Friday at 7:50 pm for our 8 pm reservation right behind another couple who also reserved. The hotel desk clerk confirmed the reservations and told all of us to have a seat and wait a few minutes. At 8:10 pm another couple came in and were greeted by the captain and shown to their seats. At 8:20 pm I rang the phone as no employees were around. The captain and desk clerk came running and a five minutes later showed the couple who arrived first to a table. At 8:40 pm I asked the hotel desk clerk how much longer itcwoukd be and he replied he would have to ask. No I am sorry. Bar closed entire time. We walked out. Terrible attitude and zero service. Stay away.
