Pied a Terre Ratings and Reviews
The food here is amazing. The ingredients are all fresh authentic. The owner comes to every table to discuss food and wine suggestions. That was a nice touch. This is a small local place with a following. The overall atmosphere is nothing special. A small, quite room with maybe 20 seats. It's the food we appreciated.
We ate at Pied a Terre about 2 years ago when we were travelling through Miami. We had had such a great experience that we wanted to go back. I had requested outdoor seating if the weather was nice since that was where we had eaten before. When we arrived, we were led toward the main dining room...not to the outdoor spot. I questioned it and the waiter said, "I read your note. Just wait!" He took us to a special private table that had been set up on another patio. It was beautiful, quiet, and even more special. Then he said that the menu had changed and they had a new chef as of about 2 weeks ago. That made me a little nervous but we were happy to give it a try. The appetizers were fabulous...especially the celery risotto. The entrees were very good, but not quite as special as our first visit. The wine list is wonderful and the waiter was very helpful with a recommendation of a French wine that we had never tried before. We will definitely try to track it down at home. Also the dessert wines are amazing. The owner came by several times to check in with us. All in all, it was another great experience. We will return when we are again in the Miami area.
This was our second time there. It did not disappoint. The service was attentive, but not intrusive. The food was marvelous. Both the presentation and the preparation were outstanding. My lamb chops were excellent and the duck was superb. There were also interesting and creative variations from the prior menu. And while three of the other four members of my party were not interested in desert, after looking at the dessert menu, they changed their minds. They were not disappointed! I consider this restaurant to be one of the hidden gems on Miami Beach, which is extraordinary, given its convenient location, just west of the Lincoln Road mall, the convention center, and the New World Symphony concert hall.
Hidden gem! Michelin star quality French food in a warm and cozy atmosphere that will make you feel you've been transported to Paris.
The food is exquisite and the service even better. Perfect for a romantic dinner, date, or a night out with friends.
Can't wait to come back!
My wife and I went there with two friends after seeing Art Basel. We had been there a few times before and always enjoyed it. It was, as usual, spectacular. The food was delicious; my wife ordered the Foie-Gras Terrine and said it was very good. We had also Venison filet and Veal tenderloin. Everything was exquisite, including the desserts. The Manager, Patrick, made sure that we had a pleasant evening and runs this restaurant perfectly. This is one of our favorites restaurant in Miami and a rare place where you can eat well-executed French Food. Go there without hesitation, you will not regret it.
Wonderful French cuisine in a cozy romantic restaurant. Mouthwatering menu. High quality of ingredients, preparation, presentation and service. Everything we tried was pure pleasure.
Great wine list.
We would definitely go again and we highly recommend it to quality food lovers.
Pied de terre is one of my favorite restaurants! The food there is amazing- I don't care for foie gras and they do wonderful things with it the foie gras dumplings in the soup we had were fantastic! I had the lamp chops which were melt in your mouth good and the lavender creme brûlée was a perfect ending to a perfect meal. The manager and sommelier are very knowledgable about the wine selection and guide us the right way every time. The room is also beautiful and cozy at the same time- very romantic! I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who appreciates fine dining!
A little gem--from ambiance to service to exquisite food!! Our waiter was so helpful and we learned a lot about their visiting French chefs. Particularly pleased to learn nothing is made with cream or flour which were two reasons I avoided French cuisine in the past. Highly recommend.
We recently enjoyed a wonderful meal at Pied A Terre. After studying the various menus (standard, tasting, fixe prix and Taste of France), we decided to go with the Taste of France. This would give us a choice of several appetizers, entrees and desserts for the price of $39.00. We wondered if the portions would be miniscule since the price was lower than most of the single entrees. Not so! We are not really big eaters, but we had more than enough food. For appetizers, we ordered the Sweetbreads and the Mushroom Risotto - both delicious. For entrees, we chose Black Grouper and "Chef's Favorite Cut of Beef." The grouper was the winner here; the beef was a little tough. For dessert, we both went with the fruit sorbet. Light, refreshing and tasty.
We arrived at 7:30 pm and were surprised to be the first guests of the evening. As such, we enjoyed a quiet atmosphere as well as a delightful conversation with our server. Towards the end of our dinner, other guests began to arrive and we imagine that it could get pretty noisy if every table was occupied. The service was very professional and attentive.
We definitely enjoyed our experience at Pied a Terre and are happy to recommend it.
I'm impressed... I haven't had a better dining experience in my 16 years of being a Miami resident; not in South Beach, not in Miami... not anywhere in Florida...
Pied a Terre reminds of the upper end French restaurants I would frequent back in New York cIty during my decades there, restaurants that I would go to for business, pleasure, and special occasions... for whatever...
They were special environments back then, and special dining... and Pied a Terre is the ONLY restaurant in Florida that I have ever gone to that comes close, equals, and even surpasses many of them...
Dinner the other night was an absolute treat; just as it was on my prior visit too.
AND SO WORTH IT...
I have to think up an excuse to go back and soon; it's a shame I don't live nearby...
My friends couldn't stop raving about the entire experience; not at dinner itself, not in the car on the way home, and again at breakfast the next morning... and then again before they left to go home.
