Pied a Terre Ratings and Reviews
No one can expect that there're auhentic and quiet restaurant in middle of south beach! It's where I've been looking for during staying Miami.
Food were all great. I love truffle risotto without rice.. amazing. Owner and Server was nice to talk!
It was perfect place for last dinner in Miami.
Incredible find in Miami. Food was extraordinary. Service was exceptional. We spoke with the owner, Patrick, several times throughout our meal. He shared his love of great food and how important sourcing good ingredients is to him. I had the Maine lobster dish and my husband had the venison, which Patrick brings in from New Zealand. We then received a tour of the hotel and gardens personally from Patrick. We will definitely be back. A gem in Miami!
This place was excellent!!! The food was simply amazing, every dish was cooked and prepared to perfection. We shared the celery risotto (no rice) and it was one of the best dishes I have had in a while. I don't like celery but the preparation and technique used transformed the celery to another level while giving you the texture your tastebuds expect when eating perfectly cooked risotto, I don't know how they did it. We also had the cod and the venison entrees. Both cooked to perfection, perfect temperature, taste and texture. Both accompanied with exquisitely cooked vegetables. The host and owner Patrick was great! He made my fiancé and I feel welcomed and at home in this cozy space. The combination of the service, quality of food and atmosphere is and ode to fine dining without any pretension. I'm looking forward to my next meal here and can't wait to tell my friends about it.
Quite and romantic. The food was classic and delicious. It's unlike any other French restaurant we have been to in Miami. The foie gras trio was exceptional. The duck breast entree was also amazing. If we were judging on food and service alone, this would be the best restaurant in miami. The only negatives are with the ambiance. The restaurant was very empty with only two other couples and the space was overly lit, which added a little awkwardness to the space. With that said, we will go back!
This is as French as it can be in Miami. I wish this restaurant was in another place as I do not like restaurants connected to a hotel. The maitre d' was as French as the food and wine. Recommendable and very nice place for business and tête-a-tête. Small plates and nice presentation. Food excellente.
Excellent small restaurant serving authentic French food but managing to stay on the "healthy" side of it. Competent, discrete service. Honest well-picked wine list. All in a quiet room with 6-8 tables.
It is never packed or noisy as Miami-visiting crowd seeks hype (none at Pied a Terre) not quality (not much outside of Pied a Terre).
Outstanding little restaurant. The food and wine were delicious, the service was efficient and extremely courteous. The ambience was quiet and warm which is somewhat unique in Miami Beach where the noise level is generally high. This restaurant is a must if you visit Miami.
It was my 3rd visit to Pied a Terre with 3 guests & my expectation of superb food & service was easily met by Patrick ( the owner) and our waiter. A thorough description of wines helped us choose a moderate budget and excellent choice. I was disappointed by Open Table giving me 100 points when I expected 1000 as advertised. A glitch in some computer thing BUT unfair to me.
Exceptional place to discover. The food is excellent. The wine list is astonishing and surprising. If you are a gourmet you will adore this place. It is not cheap but it is worth it. You will remember this place, the food you eat and the wine you drink and the history around it for a long time.
This restaurant had extraordinarily exquisite food and simple, refined décor! The menu highlighted French fare prepared to perfection, as well as wonderful crusty French bread brought in from Quebec daily. There was a large choice of Foie Gras preparations as well as a massive veal chop, venison, quail, lobster and other splendid choices . The service was efficient, gracious and warm. This will be my new 1st Choice of where to dine when I return to Miami. It is a taste of Paris in Miami!
A return visit confirmed our first impression from two months ago: a restaurant about the food, creative and different without going overboard, quiet atmosphere, very good service, reasonable prices for the quality of the food, good wine list (let yourself be guided and you will not be disappointed). Excellent alternative if looking for French food.
This is a really special restaurant. Patrick, the owner, was an excellent host, explaining the preparation of the dishes and even the way that he brings in chefs from top Michelin-rated restaurants in France to share ideas and recipes. (He also gave us a great reference to a restaurant in Arles which we're going to try soon.) The duck l'orange was, quite honestly, the best duck either of us had ever tried. Subtle orange spicing without that excessive jammy sweetness that so often ruins duck. The meat was so delicate. The wine pairing was superb. The assistant waiter...a young man from the eastern coast of Russia...was extremely likeable and we enjoyed chatting with him. At the end of the dinner Patrick toured us around his place. His pride in his restaurant shows in the excellence of the meals!
We are staying in South Beach, for 3 nights, celebrating our anniversary. The Concierge at the Ritz Carlton suggested the gen of a place and it was spectacular. We will return! The owner is a charming French gentleman! He was informative about the food preparation, wine and the concept. Beautiful concept!
This is a special French restaurant. The sommelier/manager has great wines. We drank a red, a Bandol 2013 that he recommended and it was superb! The bouquet was fragrant and floral, taste was rich, smooth not overbearing and not too tannic. Taste of currant and smooth texture. The menu had a choice of risotto first courses. One was made w/o rice (!!) but used celery and truffles. It was unique and really delicious! The other risotto was made w arborio rice and exotic mushrooms. The restaurant specializes in choices of different foie gras. We don't eat foie gras but I heard other patrons enjoying it. The 16 oz. veal chop was unavailable. There was a delicous and generous portion of grilled duck (breast and leg) with a light orange sauce. wWe had an amuse bouche made with a perfectly cooked scallop. I wish I'd ordered one of the fish dishes rather than the rack of lamb though it was well prepared. The service is caring and they don't hover but they're there when you need them. The decor is quiet and elegant. I loved the tablecloths and the curtains which were white linen and modern French not fussy. Also, the restaurant is a respite from the Miami Beach noise outside! Lastly, this restaurant is a block off Collins on 17th in a small boutique hotel called The Cadet. There's a baby grand in the lobby and the waitress told us they have music there a couple nights a week. There are photos of Clark Gable in the small lobby because he was in command of a West Point squad of cadets assigned to live there. He was a captain during WWII and he lived there w the cadets. I think the military suspected German submarine presence off Florida coast. So this hotel has an historic background. There's even a photo of Gable and Jimmy Stewart together in military clothing. I recommend this for special occasions and dinner anytime really. Be prepared for the bill which is quite fair but not inexpensive.
A wonderful experience and exceptional dinner. The attention to detail, the preparations and the quality of the food were consistent with the finest restaurants found anywhere in the world. Patrick, the owner, was a delight and paired each course perfectly as well. We will return to this this very special restaurant and highly recommend it to individuals who enjoy fine dining at it's beat.
Charming intimate restaurant on South Beach. Prices are reasonable. Nice french menu, excellent wine list. Well priced. Manager recommended a wine from Sicily that was fantastic. Paired perfectly with our food. This restaurant is a gem. Highly recommend it for a romantic evening.
When in Miami Beach we find Pied a Terre a haven of civilization. The food is very creative and refined and often unique. The wine list is extensive and has many wines difficult to find elsewhere. The decor is eclectic and enjoyable to be a part of. Of the dishes we have had there I love the terrine of foie gras this time with a coulis of apricot---an amazing combination. The Maine lobster was as fresh as one could ever wish. The patron is knowledgable and often offers wonderful advice on ingredients and wine combinations. Trust these wonderful food people to make it an evening to remember. Add this restaurant to the great ones because it is that---great.
Cozy little restaurant nicely located in Miami Beach. Michelin - inspired menu with fresh and unique ingredients. Great wine selection and outstanding service. We truly enjoyed the tasting menu and the wine pairing. If you want to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the South Beach party scene, and enjoy great food and wine in Miami, this is a great option!
One of the best restaurants I've eaten i Miami Beach, the restaurant area takes you back in time. The wine list is very good very complete from affordable to expensive. The food magnificent so is the presentation the service impeccable. A truly great experience.
