Amazing food and service, we had the tasting menu and the wine pairing, best meal I have had ever!
We found the service pretentious, with the waitress pushing quite heavily for high-priced items, questioning choices and telling us what's good or not, while insisting on how lucky we were to be seated at Miami's best restaurant (their words)
A shame, because the food was really good
I don't mind an expensive check, but I do expect much better for service at this price level (they include a 20% service charge on top of everything)
It's good, but not as good as they think.
Preferred restaurant in greater Miami area. Fit for foodies.
The best kept secret in Miami Beach. Amazing food served in a location that feels like you just flew to Paris or Lyon.
Great selection of dishes, delicious foie gras and outstanding service! Congratulations to Patrick!
Always consistent
We eat here every time we come to Miami. The celery risotto is outstanding. The wine pairing with the tasting menu was very good.
Neighborhood gem. Exquisite!! One of my top dining experiences in town. Everything was well balanced , the wine pairing excellent. Great service , exquisite food!! Definitely a must!
Before coming we asked if the restaurant allows corkage. We were told YES, at a cost of $35. When the bill came however, we were charged $40. When we enquired as to why there was a the difference, we were told that we must have misunderstood. This, and the fact that gratuity (for a party of 2) was added automatically on the bill, which meant we paid tax on that too, means that we will not return. Very petty indeed.
Pied a Terre is not your typical South Beach restaurant. It is truly a hidden gem tucked away in the small Cadet hotel. You feel as if you are in the lovely dining room of someone's home. There are few tables so it feels very intimate and special. The food is superb, service outstanding. They truly want you to have a memorable meal and experience and they deliver perfectly.
Felt like we were in an intimate Parisian restaurant. Excellent
food sources, nicely cooked and beautifully presented. Not
inexpensive, but wife treated me to tasting menu with wine pairing.
Close Holiday
This was our second time at Pied a Terre. We loved it last year but were disappointed this year. The main reason was we felt we were getting a big push from the waitress to upsell wine and food. It was so obvious. The foie gras was still fantastic. The entrees were very good but not at the level of last year. It was a Sunday night at the end of the Miami Beach food and wine festival so maybe they had a different chef. We asked for a wine recommendation and we went with it and when the bill came it was a $100 bottle of wine, something we would have never ordered and we were not told that it was an expensive wine. Admittedly, we did not ask what the price was and they are known for their wines but this has never happened to us before. The whole upsell approach was very unpleasant and took away from the dining experience.
A fabulous gourmet restaurant, remarkable dishes and excellent, knowledgeable service.
This is a very good restaurant. The cod dish is simply amazing. We always make sure we visit Pied a Terre every time we come to Miami Beach.
Great service made the difference! If you like to know what you're eating, and how it was prepared, and wine recommendations - this is your spot. Informative meal with lively conversation with the owner and service staff. Delightful meal.
Very quiet dining room— so quiet you can hear most conversations around the whole room. Had the tasting menu with wine pairings. Food was excellent and wines were paired very well, BUT the wine pours were very small. Most were about 3 ounces which is fine for a wine tasting, but not when trying to enjoy the wine with the food. A couple of sips of wine to blend with flavorful French food doesn’t cut it.
Delicious!
Great menu and wine list. Patrick has done a wonderful job of creating something special in a very competitive marketplace.
Clearly they think it’s like french fine dining butt honestly it’s average and pricey! They also think 18% tip is minimum without any questions asked! Sorry but no!
We made our reservation on Open Table. When we arrived, they did not seem to have our reservation. They accommodated us and gave us an outside table overlooking the pool. We were the only table in the pool area. We ordered appetizers and main courses. The grilled octopus appetizer my have had has tasteless. I had the foie gras as an appetizer and it was good. For a main course, my wife had the bronzino which she enjoyed. I had the squab and foie gras which was not edible. It was rare and very stringy and tough. The waitress took it back to cook more. I was not able to eat it when she brought it back since I was so turned off by my first bites of it. The manger did remove this item from my bill. The wine was good at the restaurant, but expensive for the amount they poured. I would not return to this restaurant or recommend it to anyone visiting South Beach.
Convivial. Friendly. Manager took his time to explain the history of the restaurant. He also made great recommendations on the wine. Wine and champagne were excellent.
Great food. Excellent service. Expensive but worth it.
Wonderful food at Pied A Terre. We chose the tasting menu, with paired wines - some very lovely tasting combinations. The service didn't quite live up to the food for such a gourmet restaurant - in particular, the tasting menu dishes felt like a race to the finish, with plates taken away the minute the last mouthful was taken, and the next dish served within minutes. A little more leisure would be fine - and we asked for a break after the third course. That said, the food lives up to all promises, so as long as you're happy to make your case for a little more leisure, then it is very much worth it.
Great meal and service every time.
Excellent! Sampled the four foix gras -wonderful. Duck and cod mains were beautifully prepared and tastes sensations! Two great bottles of wine from an unusual list with variety and depth. Fabulous service and music from a wiz kid pianist! Wow! What a great evening. We bought four chargers -beautiful! Thank you!
Our go-to restaurant when in Miami. Celebrated our 20th Anniversary and enjoyed the tasting menu paired with delicious wines. Everything was perfect. Sonja, our wonderful waitress, was so nice and attentive. This is a great restaurant to enjoy quiet conversation and fine dining.
Phenomenal! Don’t miss the four gras sampler. Besut
This was a great find. We had read mixed reviews about this restaurant.
Once we were seated we embarked on a wonderful food adventure. We were served light lobster bisque that wet our appetite. The foie gras was paired with tangy fruity flavors. The (not) rice dish was creamy and incredibly light. The duck and filet mignon were cooked to perfection.
If you are not a food connoisseur (do not bother to go). It is for those who love and are passionate for food. It is so rare to find a place where technique is still valued… where stocks are made not bought.
The maître d’s guides you to choose the food to complement your evening. It was delightful and delicious experience.
Excellent food , well presented by a well trained pleasant staff in very quiet atmosphere. Have already booked a 2nd visit
first & foremost, the quality of food was excellent. The preparation exceeded our expectations and clearly rivals the finest of French culinary experiences...and the casual ambiance erases any form of pretense. I’ll certainly return on our next visit to Miami.
Service was slow and food was average.
Excellent food in a great setting. An obnoxious maitre d' insulted the food choice of one of our group members, and then a server spilt two drinks on me, breaking two glasses and soaking my jacket. The staff retreated and I was left to work out how to get the sugary liquid out of my jacket. Nobody apologized, although at the end of the dinner we were told that one desert was complementary.
Excellent food . Attentive , professional staff . I would highly recommend it to the "foodie " looking for that old world French charm ... without the kids . What a find !
Outstanding
The food was quite good but not the best we've ever had. The foie gras is exceptional, but the squab was a little undercooked. The service was attentive but a little curmudgeonly. That seems to be their brand. Competent old-school French Canadian cuisine served in a somewhat stuffy dining room by aging European waiters.
The food was delicious. The menu was meticulously designed with optimal taste in mind. Patrick was extremely helpful and insightful. Even the martinis were excellent made with a great dry vermouth.
Beautiful, serious French restaurant. All of the food was exceptional, as is the service. The ambience is NOT South Beach. If you want a serious dinner away from the South Beach scene, but right in the heart of SoBe, this is perfect.
Restaurant is a real gem. Very quiet, beautiful and refined. Food is excellent as is the service. If you like foie gras this is the place for you. They have it 4 ways or a sampler of all 4 which is what I had. Fabulous. The duck and cod was also excellent. Wine lust is quirky, well curated and fairly priced. Staff is very knowledgeable
Sound classic French cuisine tasty and well executed
