Pied a Terre Ratings and Reviews
Excellent food in a great setting. An obnoxious maitre d' insulted the food choice of one of our group members, and then a server spilt two drinks on me, breaking two glasses and soaking my jacket. The staff retreated and I was left to work out how to get the sugary liquid out of my jacket. Nobody apologized, although at the end of the dinner we were told that one desert was complementary.
The food was quite good but not the best we've ever had. The foie gras is exceptional, but the squab was a little undercooked. The service was attentive but a little curmudgeonly. That seems to be their brand. Competent old-school French Canadian cuisine served in a somewhat stuffy dining room by aging European waiters.
Restaurant is a real gem. Very quiet, beautiful and refined. Food is excellent as is the service. If you like foie gras this is the place for you. They have it 4 ways or a sampler of all 4 which is what I had. Fabulous. The duck and cod was also excellent. Wine lust is quirky, well curated and fairly priced. Staff is very knowledgeable
Wow! Really there are no other words to describe what an experience dining with Patrick and his staff was. We had the tasting menu and chose to pair wine with our courses and could truly have not been happier with everything from beginning to end. Our courses ranged from foie gras that was perfection, to branzino that could not have been cooked better. I chose lobster for my main course, kind of silly since I'm from new England but the consomme was delicious and like nothing I have ever had before with my lobster. I used the owner Patrick's name because by the time dinner was over (sad) we felt like Patrick's friends. If we are ever in Miami again this is number one on our list to return to.
This is now my favorite spot in South Beach. So beautiful and serene and nice break from the craziness. The food is spectacular with the best ingredients. Highly recommend the Truffle risotto made with celery root instead of rice, amazing. The sea bass and scollops were delicious and so well prepared. Excellent place
The best FRENCH gastronomic restaurant I have tested in my 7 years in Miami. It is a nice combination of FRENCH flavors in a quiet and elegant restaurant. The quality of the menu is generously commented by the owner Patrick who will also help you to choose a nice wine in a large but accessible wine list.
110% recommended, price is totally accessible compared to the standard of Miami.
Not excellent, not at all. This is one of the most disappointing restaurants (read: broom closet) in Miami (if anyone pays attention at all.) First, there is no chef—just a few fry cooks who are taught how to meal-prep twice a year by a real chef flown in from France. Second the tasting menu is an underwhelming disaster. Third more than one of the staff has a communication deficit. They have ONE waitress, who does her best to stay afloat in her second language. Avoid at all costs—take a risk somewhere else.
Had a Miami Spice based 3 course dinner For first course was a non-rice celery risotto. I chose the Cod for the second course. For the dessert I had an egg-based fluff with fruit. The food, the glass of white wine and coffee were exceptional. The service was super. The owner took time to explain the makeup of the different courses. The dining room had a warm Feeling of a French inn
What a beautiful restaurant. Miami has tons a great place to eat but not to dine. Pied a Terre is dining without the pretentiousness one would expect. The food was outstanding and the service was friendly and informative.
If you are foodie looking for a quiet dinner this the place to go...the risotto was excellent, the fish was even better.
Elegant French cuisine and knowledgable Host. Just when you think French cuisine can't get anymore delicious, think again! The game is fresh and prepared with a twist. Progressive yet Traditional...
The wine list and recommendations were superb as Patrick walked us through every step of the way. Incredible grace. Royalty Service. Be sure to check out the cozy pool terrace-Great for events.
