The service was outstanding and our meals were beautifully presented. In fact, the chef presented each of our main courses and explained the different flavors we would experience. The pork belly was rich and perfectly cooked and was paired with delectable flavor shots of kimchi pear. Really creative cooking and I highly suggest you try.

Awsome flavors bold.combination in a relax and casual environment. Their porc belly rice bowl is a show stopper.

The food was elaborate and very interesting, so you need to be a little adventurous in your taste to come here. There is nothing on the menu that I could prepare at home, and I have a decent repertoire. The avacado and Dungeness crab dish was particularly delicious. You need two or three dishes each + desert, and that makes the prix-fix menu attractive - I might do that next time.

The food was delicious and well made, however, our server wasn't quite attentive. He took much too long to return to ask whether we wanted to order more or grab the bill. He didn't ask if we wanted to order more drink either and was very absent overall.

We could have stopped at the Oyster shooters. Delicious topped with green apple granita. We went vegetarian after that and went through many flavours - smoky peppers to sweet beets.

Found Pidgin on Eater 38 when we were in Vancouver visiting UBC. The neighbourhood was a bit questionable but once inside the ambiance and the food was just amazing. My favourite was the sablefish but everything was good.

Came here in 2018 for my husband's 30th birthday and recently dined at Pidgin with another couple whom have never been. They are skeptical of fusion restaurants, but loved Pidgin!

Pleasant. The tasting menu, I assume, showcased the Pidgin experience. Many components were delightful, like the cultured mushrooms , the shishito peppers, the corned beet salad and the nuts. Some components were more challenging, mostly due to the over use of acid (vinegar/pickling) throughout the meal. The cauliflower was too mushy. The gnocchi was beautiful texturally, but the accompanying sauce was unbalanced on acid side once again. The duck was loved by the meat eaters, the sable was beautifully prepared, and delicious for one of the diners, but was overly smokey for the other, which also affected the experience with the dessert.
Over all the presentation was delightful. We can tell there is love on the plate.
Fusion can be tricky for some dinners, in my person opinion, balance the acid components a bit more and my palate would be thrilled.

When I was single, I used to eat plain rice with butter on top and drizzle it with soy sauce. It was simple but delicious. The foie gras rice bowl from PiDGiN was like the ultimate fine dining iteration of that. Can’t beat that buttery, meaty texture. And the chestnuts they added provided a nice bite for variety.

Our server Patrick was super friendly and loved to play with our 11 month old son. The dishes were brought out promptly and the atmosphere was nice. It was a positive experience. We’ll come back next time and try the Ssam dish!

Atmosphere was very comfortable and warm. The servers were very helpful with food and drink recommendations. Definitely recommend trying it out!

Very good food. Lovely service. They easily accommodated my friend who is pescatarian on the set menu for Valentines. It could have been a total disaster as the set menu had a couple meat options. But they took it in stride and made us some lovely alternates.

I've wanted to try this restaurant for a long while. DineOut provided the opportunity. I was floored by the 7-course meal for $45. It was a great intro to their cuisine. We didn't know what to say when the server asked us our favorite dish. They were all great. Friendly service too.

Nice ambiance, average service, and okay food. Sometimes the servers took our plate before asking if we were done (there was still food on the plate...). The food was weird. The steak was so chewy we couldn't eat it, and the portions were small. Maybe it's just because we visited during Dine Out Van, but I wouldn't revisit based on this experience.

I’ve been meaning to eat at this restaurant for almost a year because of all the things I heard about it. Finally got around to it for DineOut Vancouver and was absolutely disappointed with my experience. The service was amazing and loved the place but the food lacked a lot of flavour, portions were small, and was very bland. It might have just been the dine out menu but it was a bust, definitely not worth the DineOut price. Best thing I had there was the server recommended red wine. I will try to come back and have their regular menu but it might take another year for the bad memories to fade.

I was really disappointed! Everything on dine out menu sucks, the Osaka pancake thing..... are you kidding me, I think the one I cooked at home would be much better than the one in the restaurant....ordered a foie rice bowl separately, tasted much better than other dine out dishes, but still not that good...the rice was cold and tough..service is standard but very push, like both my friend and I had the feeling of rushing by the waitress to pay and to leave.............definitely not recommend and do not want to go back again......

Went for dineout and was pleasantly surprised by the unique food pairings that were both visually pleasing and delicious. The oyster shots are a MUST have, definitely taking my girlfriends back there just for that. The mushroom plate with truffle is pricey but sooooo worth it!!!

Dinner for two on a Saturday night for Dine Out. The experience was good, not great.

The good:
Table service - our server and all the food runners were helpful and knowledgeable. Great wine pairing suggestions. Room is fun, lighting is great.

The not so good:
Had to wait 25 minutes for our 9:00 reservation, with very little communication from the host about our table. I really wanted to love the food, but found it to be a bit lacklustre. Even after adjusting our expectations because it was Dine Out, presentation of most plates left something to be desired and the taste was just okay. We didn’t eat the fish plate at all after the first bites.

Overall, I would go back to sit at the bar for a cocktail or glass of wine, but I wouldn’t dine again.

It was a delicious meal! The mushrooms and cauliflower was outstanding! However, the portion sizes were very small for the prices. My friend and I ordered 2 appetizers and 2 entrees and shared all dishes, and still felt hungry afterwards. I recommend coming here when you have a semi-full stomach.
