Outstanding service and adventurous and extremely flavorful meal. We attended during a pop-up event with Pācina winery and tasted four items from the menu. Everything was fantastic, but most notably the vegan red curry stood out as the dish to remember. Would have loved to try some of the amazing desserts but we were too full!

Feel a bit conflicted about this one. I reserved a patio table for 9:45 pm and arrived right on time, but they didn’t have one available. They offered bar seating instead. It was cold and loud inside, and we had been hoping for a calm late dinner in the warm summer air. We asked to be moved when a patio spot opened up, and about 20 minutes later we were reseated. Service started with a kind of forced friendliness. No apology was offered for the patio issue. While we waited, we ordered two cocktails. One was pitched as a Cuba Libre, but it wasn’t. It used Zamalek instead of Coca-Cola, which completely changes the drink. I later saw it listed as a “Zam Libre,” which at least explained the name. Still, it tasted flat and syrupy. I had been hoping for a proper cola-based version with top-shelf rum. The seasonal special, a deep-fried Japanese soft-shell crab with dipping sauce, was another letdown. It sounded promising, and although my partner couldn’t try it due to allergies, she encouraged me to go for it. When I asked the server what they thought of it, they said they hadn’t tried it. That was disappointing. Servers should taste the specials. I ordered it anyway, but it mostly tasted like crunchy batter and not much else. The tofu and fried chicken starters were okay, though we didn’t realize the chicken was going to be battered and deep fried, which imo doesn’t suit small wings; we just expected lightly fried wings in some delicious sauce. Deep frying them detracted from the meat itself since they were now mostly comprised of fried batter. The cod in green curry was the highlight. It was subtle, balanced, and very well prepared. Also worth noting, the second server we had once we moved to the patio was much more relaxed and genuinely friendly, which made a real difference. Additionally, they comp’d the first drinks we ordered due to the reservation being botched, which I appreciate. This was my fourth time here. TBH their sister spot Pumpui has a way better vibe.

Best meal I have had in a long time. Everything was outstanding. Go if you have the chance. You won’t regret it!

One of the best meals out I’ve had. No notes. Everything was delicious. The whole fish was a 10/10 though, that curry sauce is perfection. We also really loved the off-menu tofu dish with a really yummy tamarind sauce 😍

Food was delicious and the service was impeccable. The local ingredients and unique menu make the experience one of a kind. The staff was very helpful and kind! The interior also had a super cool vibe.

Pichai should be on your monthly list of restaurants to book in Montreal. Once the vibrant dishes are laid across the table, the subtle spice creeps up, the fresh wines are flowing, euphoria will hit you and there is no doubt you are at the right place.

Authentic Thai food with locally sourced ingredients. Try the laab ped. If you don't, you're missing out big-time! 🤤❤️
