Piccolo Mondo Ratings and Reviews
Piccolo Mondo is a neighborhood gem that my family adores. It’s our go-to place for special occasions. Ambiance is wonderful, upscale but not stuffy. Staff is attentive, service top-notch. Food is sometimes better than others but consistently good with nice options and daily specials. We love this place!
We've eaten at Piccolo Mondo for about 30 years and are never disapponted. Food, service and atmosphere is always the best. Valentine's dinner was no exception, although they do increase the prices which I don't understand. They had a full house but didn't rush us or bring our check until we were completely finished. Exceptional dining experience!
Very Great Experience... my daughter requested oil and vinegarette dressing for her salad, and gluten free pasta and the were kind and accomodated her dietary needs... Our waiter was busy but very attentive and engaging.... Brilliant attentive service, one of the best romantic restaurants in Arlington!
My husband and I arrived at the restaurant and was seated promptly. Our waiter was excellent !! The atmosphere was perfect for celebrating our anniversary. We loved the piano music and she played my requested song of "Fly Me To The Moon". At the end of our wonderful meal we where going to order Tiramisu but to our surprise our waiter brought us a yummy dessert dish with a light candle. I highly recommend Piccolo Mondo for great food and service.
We love Piccolo Mondo and have dined there for years. The food is outstanding and a great value. Service is always perfect! We usually meet friends before dinner for cocktails in the bar. The bar tender has been there for years and knows us and our friends; she always is friendly and takes great care of our bar needs. Can’t go wrong with cocktails and dinner at Piccolo Mondo!
Our family had a delicious meal to celebrate my son going off to college. Centrally located and easy to find. Service could not have been better. The meal was delicious. I wish gluten free pasta was on the menu but plenty of options .. thank you for a wonderful evening!
After many very good dining experiences over the years, this the first time that the food was lacking and that the service was only fair to poor. Veal Marsela dish, soup of the day and Caesar salad were pedestrian in taste. Our waiter seemed mechanical and perhaps inexperienced and not attentive, which is the opposite of our prior experiences. The size of our party necessitated being seated close to the performers, so that, in addition to the fact that the table was in a heavy foot traffic area all made it difficult for us to converse. However, kudos as usual to the talented piano and saxophone performers. This is one of the very few places to be able to enjoy a lounge area with a variety of music including Cole Porter and the great songs of early and mid 20th century. We believe our Saturday night experience was an aberration and definitely will return.
The food at this restaurant was really good and quite authentic. We had difficulty understanding what some of the dishes were as many were in Italian. The waiter explained them when we asked. However, this was a department luncheon and although the food came out quickly, the service was not fast and we ended up waiting for quite some time after the meal for wait staff to come to our table. Since it was a workday, we were unable to order dessert as we ran out of time just waiting.
Piccolo Mondo is one of my favorite Italian restaurants in the Dallas/Ft. Worth metropolitan area. The menu is very good as is the wine list. The food is consistently delicious and freshly prepared and the service is typically outstanding. You can't go wrong if you love Italian food!
I thought the food was good and the place did serve well for business related dinner. I liked the live piano player which gave a nice setting. I would have liked more attention to drink refills and to have been offered take out boxes. This environment did serve our purpose well.
Excellent menu selections and wine list. You can price point your meal as you like. From many very flavorful Italian dishes to hand cut steaks and seafood. We were there on a Thursday evening and the piano player with saxophone accompiament in the bar - were outstanding as well!
This is my go-to Italian restaurant in Arlington. It is one of the few restaurants where you can have a conversation without shouting across the table. Never had less than an excellent meal. My only disappointment is the so-called Italian bread served with dinner. Hard to find a restaurant that serves Italian bread with the right density in this area.
