   Our server Angelique(?) did a tremendous job! She was friendly and attentive. Food was hot and delicious.

   My date and I were there on Saturday, May 3rd around 4:30 for our reservation. Even though the restaurant was 1/4 full, it still took around 10 minutes to get seated. We ordered two pizzas and the arancini for an appetizer. The arancini were like warm at best, and while flavorful, barely warm. My nduja pizza came out black around the outside. I know there should be some char, but this was black. The olives on it were burnt and while I mentioned it to our server, he insisted that’s how it should be. I typically enjoy piccolo Bucco and have recommended many of my friends there, but this was a subpar experience for a normally excellent restaurant. I will definitely look elsewhere in oakbrook next time I am in the area.

   In general the food was okay. Not as good as Coopers Hawk. Could be the menu items selected. The squash blossom appetizer was tasty along with the salad. However, I do not recommend the Eggplant Parmesan. The dish was covered with very thick mozzarella cheese (way too much and over-powered the dish). I think because of all the cheese the entree was extremely oily which caused the eggplant to be soggy. Being Italian, this dish didn't live up to an Italian Eggplant Parmesan. Once I moved all the cheese to the side, took a couple of bites, and was not able to eat it. My friend tasted it and neither of us liked it. Not sure I would go back. Others have told me the pizza is really good. I guess I should have ordered that. Maybe next time...???

    Great lunch spot, food is good. I just wish the pizza crust was a tad crispier. Service was wonderful.
