Piccolo Angolo was fantastic! The place is charming and the food is excellent. Everyone sang happy birthday (3 times in 10 minutes) for the guests celebrating, which made it feel like big family dinner.

Family owned restaurant with a heart of gold. You feel like you’re eating at someone’s home and the service is so friendly. You feel Like you’re part of the family. Great for groups. We celebrated my father birthday here and the entire restaurant sang happy birthday to him. New York has fewer and fewer restaurants like this. Happy we found it!

Piccolo Angolo is one of my favorite Italian restaurants. It's a Catch22 - do I tell everyone about it or keep it to myself. I highly recommend this wonderful place - the food is constantly good, and the service is great. Maria & Fernando, each, have the wonderful gift of making you feel not only welcome but very much at home. Personally, I was introduced to this hidden gem by a co-worker and have been forever grateful. I am always secure in bringing friends or business associates to Piccolo Angolo and look forward to my next visit.

This restaurant is a mess. Was rudely greeted when we showed up 15 minutes early so we weren’t charged the late fee. They flat set the entire restaurant and it took 45 minutes to put order in. Asked for water refill 4 times before they roughy back a 12 ounce pitcher for 9 people. They were clearly going to a store down the street for ingredients as new orders were placed. The staff was nice enough and apologetic but for the money there has to be dozens of better Italian restaurants in the city.

Wonderful time taking my daughter and her college friends to a home cooked meal. A lot of delicious food was had and more to take home. Everything was wonderful and it was a very sweet evening. Will be back!

I've read the other reviews, and I witnessed lots of folks who clearly love this place. On a good night I'm sure there's lots to love, but apparently we were there on a very bad night. One of two dishes was served cool, the other was slightly undercooked pasta but it tasted great. In spite of making ourselves known 10 minutes before our reservation, our table was almost given to folks with a reservation after ours. We had to essentially elbow our way in. Not a pleasant start to a romantic night out. As others have stated, there is not enough staff. Having only two people (one was the owner) to serve the entire restaurant really demonstrates a willingness to ignore the basic needs of your patrons. We were given two glasses of water but no water bottle for the table. No one came by so we could request one for 20 minutes after we were seated. There were a few times we were clearly trying to get a server's attention and eye contact was made, but they turned and walked away. When our olive oil was poured, something black came out and it was unacknowledged/ignored. We decided not to have the oil. Our food arrived one hour and 40 minutes after our reservation. When we decided to leave after we finished our main courses we were chastised for not "dining properly." We just didn't enjoy the experience and didn't want to wait another hour for dessert. We won't be back.

We had a great meal starting with the Caprese Salad and the Portobello Mushrooms. I had Veal Osso Buco and my guest had Gnocci Bolognese. Service was quick and friendly and food was all fantastic. We could not have been more pleased.

Good food and large portions. I would skip the house wine and pay a few dollars more for one of the brand name wines. We were the second party to be seated that night and the service was slow in the beginning. We sat at our table for about 10-15 minutes before a server came over and then when they brought bread we had to ask for butter or olive oil. We requested menus and then were told that we had to use a QR code on the table to access the menu.

Unfortunately they had staffing problems that night. They were short 2 people so service was slow. Other than that it was terrific. Food was very good and Maria was a great host. Warm, personable and welcoming. Will definitely return.

Super friendly staff and very kid friendly! There is a sharing fee, but it was well worth it bc the portions are BIG! Food was delicious. Staff was amazing and accommodating especially for the children. It was a HOT day and there wasn’t A/C, but the staff was so great, we didn’t mind. Staff interacted with us and our children. It was very, very nice! We will definitely return!

This is the best Northern Italian cooking in NYC, bar none. The staff is wonderful, and the food insurmountable. I go to this restaurant every time I return to New York City.
