Piccola Cucina Osteria - Spring St.

Fantastico! Miglior ristorante italiano in cui abbia mangiato a New York !
The food is great but the restaurant is in a tiny space that is overcrowded with tables. I was getting bumped into the entire meal and my neighbor was not being considerate and backing his chair into me the whole time.
Just love this place, always have, always will. You invariably have to squeeze in to make way to your seat, no matter which of the three locations you choose, but the food is uncomplicated and scrumptious at the same time, not to mention reasonably priced. And service is miraculously warm and efficient in such hectic, crowded, and somewhat cramped spaces, so there's always time enough for a quick pasta even if your lunch break has been cut miserably short. Did I mention they deliver as well?
Very impressed with food quality and superb service from Evelyn. Also managed well by Roberto who continually checked on us. Enjoyed the grilled meatballs, arugula salad, Lobster Linguine and pasta with lamb ragu topped off by excellent panna cotta desert. Will definitely return from Guilford, CT.
Outstanding pasta. Small and cozy but great food and attention. Can’t wait to return.
The most amazing meal in Manhattan. Service is the best!!
Archetypal NY spot. Tiny, crowded & buzzing. Excellent Italian food served promptly with no pretense. Accommodating waitstaff. Just wonderful.
Fave italian in ny!
-Experience didn't start very well, we got the table next to the entrance of the kitchen which meant waiters coming and going and my gf having to move her chair every now and then to let them pass. We asked to move, and they agreed but were rather annoyied by the legitimate request.
-We ordered 2 pasta dishes one of which was "pasta with ricci", I personally love the dish and I understand that NY is not the best place to have them but in this case the pasta didn't taste like ricci at all. Chef apologized and we didn't pay for the pasta, also he offered us dessert which was very nice.
-Restaurant is extremely small, so small that when I came home I discovered a huge oil stain on my down jacket caused by some sauce being pured on it by some waiters while handling dishes behind me. Most likely that stain will not go away!!!!
In all honesty, they were nice but still this was a night out to forget
If you want an authentic Italian meal, this is the place to go. Great food at very reasonable prices. The service was fantastic as well.
AMAZING experience at the location on Thompson street
Everyone was very friendly and was extremely sweet in regards to my moms bday! Food was also incredible
i was there with a friend last saturday night, it is very funny and with good music. Italian food 100%!!!
Roberto was an outstanding server., took care of us from the moment we got there. Authentic Italian food in NYC with amazing apps (swordfish, calamari) and nice touch serving the pasta right from the pot.
We will definitely go back next time we visit New York!
Rosana and Aldo from Toronto
The food was EXCELLENT, we got the seasonal salad which was huge and enough for 2 ppl to split, the grilled veggies (Aubin I and eggplant) and the Ragu with lamb and mushrooms. All were fresh and tasted soo good. The service was friendly and prompt. The restaurant itself is very small so you’re basically sitting on top of ppl, but the food was with it. Super loud as well.
This is a hard review. Overall the food and service are amazing and I mean both are really amazing. The menu is authentic and delicious and has several amazing choices.
Con: This place is really small. All the tables are within 5 inches of each other and our servers had to physically pick up several of the diners tables (while still dining) to reconfigure seating to allow for parties that were greater than 2. That is very disruptive if you are trying to catch up with friends. I had reservations so I was seated immediately, but I think we had to move the table 3 times in the 1 hour we were there.
But food is amazing servers are great and so attentive, however, we just really wanted to get out of there because we were feeling claustrophobic and the place was so loud just because everyone was on top of each other.
I think this REAL NYC dining and if you are cool with that, you NEED to go here. If you want a relaxed atmosphere, this might not be the best place unless you can find a time when they are not busy.
it was cramped and noisy to the point of discomfort
will not recommend or return
I LOVE this place. Always incredible food and ambiance.
Very tiny place with delicious food. Servers were working hard-just not enough of them. Noise level was difficult for conversation plus music was playing in the background too. They pulled out all the stops to celebrate another party’s birthday with flashing lights, music, and everyone including the kitchen singing. We were greeted warmly and seated promptly.
Reservations are definitely a must, it’s really small but the delicious food & great service make up for that. Great options for wine as well. Definitely will be returning.
excellent, authentic food but extremely tight quarters. they do have two other spots in neighborhood with same food (overheard manager telling another guest). if you have a larger party or just want extra space, check these spots out. Please though, try this place, food was fabulous!
One of the best meals we ever had! Real fresh Italian pasta, amazing seafood, and cozy/fun/not too fancy vibe.
The food was superb but the noise was excruciating and we were all sitting like sardines. It was absolutely impossible to talk or move legs/arms.
Genuine Sicilian restaurant, great grilled calamari and lovely spaghetti ai ricci di mare. Would have liked the pasta a soy more al dente, but great anyway
We have been coming to this restaurant every time we are in NY and it never disappoints. Food is incredibly delicious and very much like a plate of pasta, you would have in Italy. You will see lots of Italians having lunch here, which is also a great review in itself. Service is friendly and attentive even when they are packed. Portions of pasta are huge, so consider sharing. The past with lamb ragu is my all-time favorite at this place, don't miss it. The place is also walking distance from great stores, so consider a nice walk after your meal and you'll have a great NY experience.
Amazing authentic Italian food! Nothing else is needed to say!
Keep on like this guys!
Fabulous little authentic Sicilian osteria. Make. Reservation; it’s tiny.
Reservation time not honored, from then on it was great, food and service, definitely would recommend
Amazing pasta dishes and incredible value at $11 for lunch. Tiny restaurant but great atmosphere.
The food and the service was fantastic.
Sicilian house wine was also excellent.
I had the cavatelli and a couple glasses of a house red.
My only gripe was how tightly packed the place is. We were a few inches away, on both sides, from sharing out table with strangers.
Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience and I will go back to try other dishes on the menu.
Went with a group of friends. Great food, service was very good. Wine was excellent. Very upbeat place - at one point, we had sprightly Italian music and it was terrific.
This was not your typical spaghetti and meatballs restaurant. When the chef and wait staff are from Italy, you can count on authenticity. The most interesting dish we had was the squid ink pasta. This was not the often seen black pasta that is tasteless. This was a blue/black sauce over the pasta that was made from the ink of the squid. The sauce was thick and rich and tasted of the sea.
Loved everything about it. Food was amazing, pasta was so fresh, service was good,
The manager dorsn’t manage reservations. Although I made our reservation through this site, he gave another group before us. In result, we had to wait about 30 minutes to sit. The same things happened to other customers. The food was too salty. The music was too loud to talk to friends. It was simply a nightmare!
Era tutto buonisssimo. The menu is very authentic and reminds of my stay in Sicilia. They speak Italian so it is a good place for me to practice my Italian!
One of my favorite restaurants in the city. The food and service is always excellent. I highly recommend the octopus and you can’t go wrong with any of the homemade pasta dishes. You won’t go home hungry!
Lunch special is amazing - $11 pastas.
Really small space. Tables are tight, they pack you in.
Great food, though - served straight in the pan.
Affordable wines. Nice service.
Excellent food, very friendly all the employees of the place !! they speak Spanish English and Italian
Best authentic Italian in NYC - delicious, fresh pasta, the green linguine is amazing. Friendly, waiters who clearly enjoy working there. Super cozy (and great for people watching!), loved th atmosphere.
Best italian food in NYC !! A very small place with lovely atmosphere and delicious menu card. Just go There and see for yourself 😃
