Piccino is a standby, in every sense of the word.
We arrived early but were seated immediately. I recommend the Luna Rosa (drink) -- light and refreshing. In terms of food, everything is interesting -- we went with the octopus, which was beautifully grilled. There is a meatball dish -- sounds boring, but it was a standout. The service was outstanding -- I wish that I could name the young woman who was our waitress; she was very knowledgeable about the menu and the wine list.
Delicious food , as always!
The star of this restaurant is the food. Delicious for all dishes we ordered. This could become my favorite San Francisco, and we don't even live nearby. I highly recommend it.
We had great and friendly service at the table. The food was delicious. It was perfect for our get-together.
Great food, wine & service. We were able to linger over dinner and dessert for 3 hours, which was lovely. We’ll be back!
Everything was delicious as usual, but for the first time, our server had a poor, ungracious attitude throughout. The kitchen timing was off so we waited for one entree to be served while two of us sat with our plates in front of us. No explanation, no apology. We had to continually ask for water. Server was simply inattentive and uncaring. Piccino deserves better.
Great neighborhood restaurant. The asparagus pizza is amazing!!
overly expensive
untrained employees
dry pizza
overcooked brussel sprouts
*hot* white wine
terrible experience happened for the 3rd time...
I won't give it a try again although I live right next to it...
Consistently excellent! Warm service, creative food, great ambiance.
Best service, tentative and professional. Excellent Mediterranean fish, and butterscotch desserts was excellent!
It had been awhile since last dining @ Piccino and it was as good as my prior visits, the staff was friendly and very knowledgeable.
Food was inventive and incredibly delicious. So, so good! Great wine list and unique non-alcoholic choices. Rebecca, our server was delightful. The overall vibe was cool and welcoming. Not too dark to read the menu, and not too loud to hear each other, but lively and fun. With all the great choices of restaurants in SF, we usually try to visit different ones, but we will be making it a point to return here as soon as possible because it fantastic. (Oh, and do not miss desert!!)
always the best! now we go to both Piccinos. :-) Piccino and Noon All Day.
We love Piccino for great value, cozy ambience, delicious food. We enjoyed the squash soup, brussels sprouts and foccacia and a pizza bianchi with the fresh lemonade and petit chablis. The desserts are also good but we were stuffed. Thank you Piccino!
Food was delicious. Service was outstanding! Going back soon!
I eat at Piccino several times a month. It is the perfect place for me to meet my SF friends and relatives for lunch since I am commuting up from the Peninsula. The staff is always very attentive and friendly. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is always very pleasant. I would highly recomend Piccino as a fun spot for lunch or dinner South of Market.
Delicious pasta and pizza. I also had the butternut squash soup, which was delicious. They didn't have any specials, but they have pizza and pastas that rotate on the menu.
Been to many occasions, each visit we never disappointed, with fresh ingredients, depth of flavors and attentive service makes dining experience
Pleasurable.
Delicious food and fabulous environment!
Great food and service.
Excellent!
Food was yummy, and they were kind enough to let us know what had dairy and offered to adjust the dishes (since one of us was lactose intolerant).
Thank you guys!
Not the first time I have eaten there which should be interpreted as speaking positively about the quality and value of eating here. We had two appetizers, warm burrada with a yummy sauce and octopus with a sauce that almost like eating lobster. We also had pasta that looked like deconstructed Mac and cheese but was actually a squash sauce—very tastey. We shared a pizza with sausage and pizzas at Piccino’s are always good. We had dessert, though one could hardly say we were still hungry, zeppoles with a great sauce of apples. I highly recommend their lemonade, lemony without being sugary.
I would highly recommend making a visit to this restaurant! I really liked everything about the place - especially the service. The staff was very friendly, attentive, and helpful.
They ran out of basil and the focaccia bread wasn’t hot but overall good experience
Pizza with asparagus and smoked mozzarella was really tasty.
Great food, lovely service sat outside with our family dog-great experience lots of charm
One of the best experiences. Daniel and I were there to celebrate our dads. February 28th is a special day for us as it's my late dad's birthday and Daniel's father passed away on the same day last year. we felt so well taken care of through the entire evening (Thank you, Leslie!) Everyone is so nice here. Thank you for the corner table. our favorite spot. food is amazing and soothing. my tummy always feels peaceful after eating here. wine selection/suggestion is always good. we love Piccino.
Consistently good food and good service. Very noisy during peak times but other then that we love going back to Piccino.
Portions are small and it’s not really fine dining but more quality casual dining. Let’s remain humble... Good care for the dishes from the kitchen but nothing really exceptional, some flagship dishes are still missing, and dishes that could be staple dishes bringing back to grandma or family cooking memories are a bit tiny lacking of sides at least. A few simple pasta with polpettes would not hurt. Service, location, decoration and ambiance are solid.
I love the ambience at Piccino. It is the perfect spot for a Sunday dinner or weekend brunch. The squash soup is exceptional as is the pizza bianchi.
Great! Good food Nice People
First of all, when I made the reservation, I did not notice it was only brunch on Saturdays or I would not have gone there. I do not like brunches. I was looking forward to Italian food for lunch. The portion on our appetizer was delicious but tiny which made the price even higher. My "salad" came with a few pieces of sliced celery completely smothered with dry, finely grated Parmesan or similar cheese. It was described as a Ceasar-type salad and there was no lettuce or other greens I could see. It was inedible as it was just like trying to eat a forkful of grated Parmesan, and I sent it back and ordered eggs. The regular coffee was not to my taste, and they do not offer refills.
I'm sure others like the restaurant as there were many people there; however, I will not go back.
Business or party or friends and family getting together, this one-of-kind beautiful place - una palazzina gialla! - is the place where to go to enjoy real delicious and simple food. That is the main thing about Italy: semplicità!
My fifth visit and it is just as astounding as the first. The food was superb, the desserts creative and perfect. Beautiful interior and marvelous ambiance. The staff was attentive, informative and pleasant.
We were greeted by a lovely Persian hostess who did everything to make our lunch experience perfect. . The gentleman gave us a
good Italian white wine. He was knowledgeable and accompanying. Even though you were very busy at lunch. We shared the smoked trout,
which was cooked perfectly. We will always return.
perfect as always! everyone is friendly, charming, and helpful. great wine selection. food is divine.
the food was great, I will definitely come back.
Valentine’s Day!
I would have to save that this place has become my favorite Italian spot. What a vibrant spot with fantastic food. The servers were mindful of every detail - including changing out the silverware and wince glasses. Friendly and well informed.
