Our menu still features the classic and seasonally driven thin-crust pizzas and polpette Piccino is known for; our salads and soups use the finest organic produce sourced directly from small local farms. Piccino's menu has expanded to include more small starter plates, house-made pastas, contorni (vegetable sides), and special entrees of meat, fish, or poultry. Seasonal desserts and expertly made coffee complete our daily offerings.
What Insiders Are Saying
Piccino is a standby, in every sense of the word.
Great Italian food and wonderful wine list too. Great value and not too hard to park.
Wife's meatballs excellent, salmon dish, collar bone (am I describing it correctly), was delicious. Excellent service. Nice ambience.
I love here. Food are beautifully placed on the plate and very very tasty. Not too much, not too simple, just great. I have been visited many Italian restaurants in Tokyo but this is definitely one of my best. Please visit here with your loved one when you have chance to stay in San Francisco.
This was my first visit and we were 5 adults & a baby. They were totally hospitable and attended to all our needs seamlessly. Most importantly, every dish we ordered was excellent. Will definitely go back!
Always great. Always fresh. Always interesting.
I love the location, ease of parking and the menu is always fun. The wine choices this time weren’t my favorite. Our wait person was wonderful. She shared her thoughts on the dishes and helped us make some great decisions for a meal we thoroughly enjoyed.
If you're tired of the edgy hipster SF resto's that seem to compromise on comfort for creative, look no further. Piccino has creative plates, comfort in every bite and an atmosphere of busy calmness. Service was friendly and knowledgeable without being pretentious - like being welcomed into someone's home.
The short rib was possibly the best I have ever eaten - perfectly seasoned, uber tender and just the right amount - and the creamy cloud of polenta on which it rested was also delicious. Appetizers did not disappoint either - the chicken liver crostini was as delicious as it was unique. Dessert, prepared by a chef with the warmest smile in the room, was a lemon meringue tarte - with a handful of quarter-sized circles of meringue - the perfect amount.
The only reason I couldn't do 5 stars across the board was the wire chairs at the bar, which are fine but not perfectly comfortable. This will not stop me from going back nor from sitting at the bar.
Everything was great and service was top notch!
Hey informative and friendly staff
Our pasta dishes were so delicious!
Love the ambience!
First time there... Loved everything about it. Food was outstanding. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Atmosphere was casual. It was a perfect relaxing Friday evening... We will be back!
Disappointed. Bad service, oversalted fish with no flavor.
Service was great. All the staff were friendly and helpful and the food was absolutely incredible. The ambiance was nice and the space was lovely. It's a great place to go for a small celebration or date. I'm definitely coming back.
Love this local neighborhood restaurant. Always a great experience. Menu changes to the seasons which makes this a special treat each time we visit.
As usual, Piccino did not disappoint! Even for my guest, a food conscious vegetarian New Yorker, it was a wonderful experience.
Service was very good
As was the food - nice choices on the menu for any appetite
Great food and pleasant service. Only downside was each course came out super fast and we felt rushed even though we mentioned we were not in a hurry and wanted to take out time with the courses. Outside if that, overall very good experience
Food always good and love the hood.
Service really fell down for our lunch. They failed to clean up dirty plates etc.
And, there was a little attitude from the server.
My favorite place to go for dinner with just my husband. Absolutely delicious!!
Terrible service, mediocre food.
Great (but expensive) wine selection. The burrata was surprisingly small for the price and I wasn't the biggest fan of the accompanying endive potato chip combination. I had the waitress choose my meal which was a pasta with fennel sausage, kale & cheese -- very good. The people I dined with got a personal pizza (which was good) and the gnocchi (cooked to perfection). And the best part: dessert. Their mini zeppoles accompanied by an icing + small berries was amazing. We also got the chocolate hazelnut moose & ice cream which was brilliant.
Will be going back v. soon -- thank god we live so close!
Good food beautifully prepared.
A light bright setting with a calm ambience, excellent food and service.
Great preparations - but a little inflexible on changes
One of my favorite spots in SF, terrific food, great wine and a really lovely staff. Don’t miss this gem!
This restaurant is a favorite of mine. The food is consistently good. It is one of my go-to places to take friends, especially ones that are visiting. They also have a wonderful coffee bar next-door where you can pick up a latte and a baked good to enjoy as you stroll around the neighborhood
Consistently great seasonal fare - fresh and always a unique combination of ingredients (flavor profiles) that upon reading on the menu makes you curious and always pleasantly surprised when they pull it off.
Piccino has become one of our all time favorite places in SF. It’s away from the more frenetic dining centers of the city but matches the quality of the finest. Its cozy location and ambiance reminds me of the excellent neighborhood bistros you’d find in Paris or Rome. All the food was wonderful, but the pizzas are always a standout.
So good! We are regulars. Never disappoint
What a wonderful evening!! Food is delicious, service lovely and friendly, and cool vibe! Highly recommend and we will be back!! Thank you Charlie and team!!
Food is amazing here. Continually creative salads pizza and brunch. Delicious always. You have to try the ginger scones.
Chose a seafood dinner with champagne and quite possibly best meal ever.
Fresh food and creative menu. Excellent service!
This is a great place for a lovely lunch. The food is fresh and delicious. The service is friendly and attentive and the setting is beautiful.
I love this restaurant and am never disappointed in the food or service. My only quibble is that the glasses of wine are extremely pricey.
The beet salad is to die for! It’s one of the best dishes I’ve ever had, here and in Italy.
Consistently excellent food and service.
It was amazing! Food is outstanding and the atmosphere makes you want to come back
LOVE the food!!! Every time!!! From apps to pizza to dessert and wine - we were delighted, as always. Never disappoints. We had a lovely server, but both of the hosts were terrible - unfriendly, inflexible - unclear why they have placed themselves on such a pedestal. My friend barely made it in the door with his suitcase (carry on) - he wasn't even welcomed, but immediately instructed that his suitcase must go in a specific area on the restaurant. Our reservation was for 3, but we were put at a table that basically fit 2 people, so we adjusted and moved a chair to be comfortable. Restaurant was not busy (and never was the whole night) and both the male and female host chastised us. All pretty ridiculous and rude.
