When we opened the doors of our tiny restaurant in December 2006, our goal was to make Piccino as welcoming as the home of a close friend, our food as simple and beautifully executed as possible. We're honored that Piccino became a thriving hub of the community. In May of 2011, we moved from our original space into a new home (dubbed The Yellow Building) on the corner of 22nd & Minnesota Streets.
Our menu still features the classic and seasonally driven thin-crust pizzas and polpette Piccino is known for; our salads and soups use the finest organic produce sourced directly from small local farms. Piccino's menu has expanded to include more small starter plates, house-made pastas, contorni (vegetable sides), and special entrees of meat, fish, or poultry. Seasonal desserts and expertly made coffee complete our daily offerings.

Piccino Ratings and Reviews
Still a fave. I have now been to this restaurant at least a dozen times and have never been disappointed. Always love the creative seasonal foods as well as the old standards. Tried a pickled tomato appetizer this time that was surprisingly yummy. Soups are always good too. The service is always great and I always enjoy the restaurant's vibe. Highly recommend.
A wonder meal. Finally tried it after living on Potrero Hill for 30 years. Delightful and best seafood squid ink spaghetti ever. This from someone who eats out in SF and worldwide often for 40 years. Best house made fennel sausage. This will be our weekly Italian dining room after Aperto on 18th and Connecticut closed 3 May this ago. Would recommend this to anyone who appreciates finely prepared and creative food.
Such a nice space, but—-once again—-a disappointing pizza. I won’t order their pizzas any more. The ‘za was nice and thin but clearly needed more time in the oven. It was so soggy, I had to eat with a fork and knife. Couldn’t pick it up.
The green salad needed more dressing, though it tasted very fresh.
Super easy making reservations on OpenTable and when I called to confirm it went through, they were glad to double check. As soon as we walked in, me and the girls were warmly greeted and seated at our table within minutes. Their menu is printed daily, and offer some of the freshest seasonal items that are locally available. Their staff is friendly and extremely personable - they ask if you would like anything on the menu explained and will let you know if what you've ordered is sufficient for your party. We ordered the mushroom pizza with an egg added, the pesto burrata + crostini, and the seared trout. I cannot say this any other way, but the food was amazing. The pizza was thing and crispy to perfection; the egg was huge and yolky just how we wanted it; the burrata was creamy and smooth and covered in this delicious savory pesto with roasted tomatoes and warm crostini on the side; the seared trout was perfectly cooked - tender, juicy, flaky - with a golden crispy skin!! We topped it all off with some mimosas and a bottle of their white. We're GOING BACK FOR SURE! Mahalo Piccino!
Food was great, service was not. There were four of us, three received dinner and the fourth received it 15 minutes later. After asking for water and the other meal after 10 minutes, the waitress said it was coming and brought some crackers. But, again, the food was really good. When we were done, and asked for the check, nothing happened. 5 minutes go by. 10 minutes go by. Nothing. Then someone comes by and again asks if we want dessert. We say no, but we want the check. Nothing. It is a small place, not too packed. Just really inattentive wait staff. I would recommend it, but I would also encourage Piccino to place a greater emphasis on service.
I love the convenience of the restaurant. Parking is generally easy and access easy from the netherworlds of suburbia. Love love the food but find salad prices ridiculous. $10 for a baby lettuce salad is beyond the realm. Wonderful waitstaff
Three of us went here before a Giants game. Ballpark prices are so expensive it makes more sense to go to a nice restaurant rather than eat at the game. The restaurant is in a cool, up-and-coming neighborhood and the interior of the restaurant has a nice, hip, vibe. Waitstaff was friendly and engaging. For food we split a salad make of burrata, beans, and cucumber with a very citrusy dressing--excellent. We also spit two pizzas--the bianca and the salciccia which were very thin crusted and very, very good. We finished up with the the beignets, which were piping hot and served with a sort of icing to spread on them that wasn't too sweet and had crushed pistachios sprinkled over the top. Overall experience excellent and will definitely go back.
Very good food, interesting menu, modern "tech" decor, somewhat pricy. We had the radish salad, refreshing and tomato salad beautiful, heirloom tomatoes and shared a margarita piazza. The piazza was just ok, needed more care.
The service was good, friendly and efficient. We found the noise level distracting, fortunately we had a late lunch and the sound level improved.
When we politely ask you to make a no sauce cheese pizza for our young child.. and you charge us for a "Margherita pizza with only cheese" for $14.. that's a joke. And it's ridiculous because the rest of the table's tab more than made up for the trouble.. that and 1.5 hours to finish a meal. No thanks.
This was our second time here. It is a magical place, and this second visit was even better than our first. We had the eggplant purée as an appetizer, and then two pasta dishes, and then we shared the chicken main course. Wow! Wonderful food. The service here is attentive, but not stuffy. The vibe is friendly and homey. We love this place.
