Our menu still features the classic and seasonally driven thin-crust pizzas and polpette Piccino is known for; our salads and soups use the finest organic produce sourced directly from small local farms. Piccino's menu has expanded to include more small starter plates, house-made pastas, contorni (vegetable sides), and special entrees of meat, fish, or poultry. Seasonal desserts and expertly made coffee complete our daily offerings.
What Insiders Are Saying
Piccino is a standby, in every sense of the word.
Disappointed. Bad service, oversalted fish with no flavor.
Service was great. All the staff were friendly and helpful and the food was absolutely incredible. The ambiance was nice and the space was lovely. It's a great place to go for a small celebration or date. I'm definitely coming back.
Love this local neighborhood restaurant. Always a great experience. Menu changes to the seasons which makes this a special treat each time we visit.
As usual, Piccino did not disappoint! Even for my guest, a food conscious vegetarian New Yorker, it was a wonderful experience.
Service was very good
As was the food - nice choices on the menu for any appetite
Great food and pleasant service. Only downside was each course came out super fast and we felt rushed even though we mentioned we were not in a hurry and wanted to take out time with the courses. Outside if that, overall very good experience
Food always good and love the hood.
Service really fell down for our lunch. They failed to clean up dirty plates etc.
And, there was a little attitude from the server.
My favorite place to go for dinner with just my husband. Absolutely delicious!!
Terrible service, mediocre food.
Great (but expensive) wine selection. The burrata was surprisingly small for the price and I wasn't the biggest fan of the accompanying endive potato chip combination. I had the waitress choose my meal which was a pasta with fennel sausage, kale & cheese -- very good. The people I dined with got a personal pizza (which was good) and the gnocchi (cooked to perfection). And the best part: dessert. Their mini zeppoles accompanied by an icing + small berries was amazing. We also got the chocolate hazelnut moose & ice cream which was brilliant.
Will be going back v. soon -- thank god we live so close!
Good food beautifully prepared.
A light bright setting with a calm ambience, excellent food and service.
Great preparations - but a little inflexible on changes
One of my favorite spots in SF, terrific food, great wine and a really lovely staff. Don’t miss this gem!
This restaurant is a favorite of mine. The food is consistently good. It is one of my go-to places to take friends, especially ones that are visiting. They also have a wonderful coffee bar next-door where you can pick up a latte and a baked good to enjoy as you stroll around the neighborhood
Consistently great seasonal fare - fresh and always a unique combination of ingredients (flavor profiles) that upon reading on the menu makes you curious and always pleasantly surprised when they pull it off.
Piccino has become one of our all time favorite places in SF. It’s away from the more frenetic dining centers of the city but matches the quality of the finest. Its cozy location and ambiance reminds me of the excellent neighborhood bistros you’d find in Paris or Rome. All the food was wonderful, but the pizzas are always a standout.
So good! We are regulars. Never disappoint
What a wonderful evening!! Food is delicious, service lovely and friendly, and cool vibe! Highly recommend and we will be back!! Thank you Charlie and team!!
Food is amazing here. Continually creative salads pizza and brunch. Delicious always. You have to try the ginger scones.
Chose a seafood dinner with champagne and quite possibly best meal ever.
Fresh food and creative menu. Excellent service!
This is a great place for a lovely lunch. The food is fresh and delicious. The service is friendly and attentive and the setting is beautiful.
I love this restaurant and am never disappointed in the food or service. My only quibble is that the glasses of wine are extremely pricey.
The beet salad is to die for! It’s one of the best dishes I’ve ever had, here and in Italy.
Consistently excellent food and service.
It was amazing! Food is outstanding and the atmosphere makes you want to come back
LOVE the food!!! Every time!!! From apps to pizza to dessert and wine - we were delighted, as always. Never disappoints. We had a lovely server, but both of the hosts were terrible - unfriendly, inflexible - unclear why they have placed themselves on such a pedestal. My friend barely made it in the door with his suitcase (carry on) - he wasn't even welcomed, but immediately instructed that his suitcase must go in a specific area on the restaurant. Our reservation was for 3, but we were put at a table that basically fit 2 people, so we adjusted and moved a chair to be comfortable. Restaurant was not busy (and never was the whole night) and both the male and female host chastised us. All pretty ridiculous and rude.
Our server was lovely. Attentive, professional and personable.
My favorite restaurant! Love the food, staff is friendly, great location . . .
The best restaurant to go to regularly - you can always count on quality and freshness.
Great as always...aside from someone cranking the music up to unpleasant bar levels. This caused everyone around us to start shouting. Pretty bad. First time for that in the 20+ times at Piccino so guessing it was a one off.
Otherwise, keep up the great work! Oh...and the change to the Funghi recipe was a nice touch. Liked the arugula.
I expected a better experience. 1st, menu was not customer friendly. Couldn’t tell which were entrees, or pizzas. After our dinners, we were ignored for a long time and had to ask for dessert menu. Music (hard metal) sounded like it should be used to clean up kitchen!
Worst, we were still eating dessert when we got our check! It wasn’t even crowded!
Not the best experience when you’re trying to impress your in-laws.
Picinno is our “go to” neighborhood restaurant. We are never disappointed. The food is invariably inventive and delicious and the service and ambiance are always welcoming. A great place!
Since opening, Piccino has been one of my favorite restaurants. I have never had a bad experience there! The food is an incredible balance of original yet comforting. The menu changes often so there is always a new discovery. Each visit there is sure to be at least one bite that blows my mind. Sometimes it is a salad. How can their salads be so far beyond what most salads are? Refreshing, tasteful, full of contrasts. This recent visit a friend and I shared 2 salads and 2 small plates. The salad with burrata, artichoke, caper salsa verde, endive, potato crisp, celery has me thinking about it days later. SO GOOD! And the dungeness crab arancini, garden gremolata, espelette yogurt, preserved lemon was gorgeous on the plate (I did not take a photo) and so delicious eat. Both are levels of food I could never achieve at home, and yet Piccino is not pretentious. The service is fantastic, the wine is great ( I often let them pick it for me), and the visits with my friends there are always are brilliant experience.
Great neighborhood spot. Cozy but good spaces for groups. Not al all loud but just lively enough for a fun date night. Prices were appropriate and everything we had was amazing.
Piccino’s is always wonderful... fabulous food, knowledgeable and personable servers...
Great restaurant for a family brunch. We had three generations including an 18month old and we all left with happy bellies and a smile on our face. Great selection of dishes thoughtfully put together and also great for sharing. Great value for money too.
Nice restaurant in a lovely building and a fun neighborhood. The food was delicious but a bit tiny. Servers were really good and efficient.
