Our server, Marion was spectacular! She was personable, attentive, thoughtful, and went out of her way to make our experience a great one!
As always, excellent food and service.
Great food and wonderful atmosphere! Service was outstanding!
We always bring our out of town guests to Piazza Gavi. We have lived in Tucson for 4 years and find that it is the best Italian restaurant in town. Lucky us, it’s 10 minutes from our home. The service was great despite the busy Saturday night.
Our server was very accommodating and my daughter and granddaughter had not been there before and loved it.
Kids meal was served on a very hot plate and the ravioli was so hot it was still steaming. Our daughter had to wait to eat because her food was served so hot and on a hot plate. Not impressed
The food is always great here. You'll never be disappointed!
The food is delicious and the portions are very generous. Great wine list. You won’t be sorry very good😋
Italian food is my favorite cuisine. I almost always order veal parmesan and have been all over from New York to Italy. Gavi’s veal parmesan is positively the best I have ever had and the portions are extremely generous.
Have patronized Gavi's on many occasions. Service was excellent, was seated right away and had requested a partial booth and was given one. Waiter was there quickly and was attentive throughout the meal. The food was very good as usual, I love Gavi's sauces. We took some food home as the portions are good for two meals. Our waiter boxed them, labeled the food and wrapped each one up. We were in and out in 45 minutes, which was nice. There was no rush, but Thursday nights at 7:30 are generally not overly busy.
Nice to have them in the neighborhood.
The people at the table next to us has some complaint but I can’t imagine what!? Guess some people are just complainers. As usual for us everything was fantastic. I had basic spaghetti and meat sauce and my husband had the pork tenderloin special. Amazing. Service is always spot on leaving me to wonder why we don’t go more often.
Service was very good!
Enjoyed two lunch specials that included salad, glass of wine and 1/2 order of a dinner entree. There were some minor restrictions but my eggplant parm was delicious and my friend enjoyed her pasta olio. We both took leftovers home. Service was perfect, friendly and flawless.
Great portions. Great sauces, Great wine list
Gavi never fails to meet all of our expectations, great food, excellent service!
My son and I had a wonderful birthday celebration there! They prepared a favorite dish for him that he's had there over the years even though it is not on the current menu! I also love that you can substitute a side of veges instead of the pasta.
Food and service was great.
The only downside is it is extremely noisy!!!
We had a shrimp dish and the shrimp was way over cooked, rubber like. The special of the night was very good and my salmon salad was very good. It was quit loud. Service was very good. I would definitely eat there again.
As always, food and service was great. Their pasts dishes are great. Had my go-to of Fettuccini Bolognese which is always tremendous.
A Tucson staple that has been around for years. It's not cheap but the food is fresh, plentiful and worth it!
Best meal I had in Tucson. Will definitely go back the next time we’re in town.
Great food and service. Hasam was excellent. Very professional and pleasant. I would want to have him as my waiter next time.
The food was very good and the waiter was excellent. My granddaughter has a gluten allergy and they did a great job on taking care of her needs. No fault to the restaurant, just ignorant people behind us that allowed their child to scream just because she wanted too through out the evening.
Food and service were amazing. Will definitely be going back again!
This is our favorite restaurant in Tucson. Love the Lobster Ravioli special! Everything we have ordered is delicious! Would highly recommend!
It was very very loud inside but the food was GREAT!!!! 👍👍
So let me start off by saying that we have been long time customers of Gavi, like going back to when they opened up first restaurant on Pantano and Broadway. They were the best back then. The last several times we have been to the Kolb location, service and food quality and portions have not been stellar. Something has changed and we can't put our finger on it but it was very loud which I know you really can't control the noise level. The waiter we had did not tell us the specials, did not ask us for refills on our drinks, and did not bring my salad. I had to ask for the specials and I order one that he recommended and they ran out but never mentioned it. So I was sitting there with no meal and 9 other people had their meals. By the time we flagged down the waiter he asked if there was anything else I would like.....I said yes, the salad I never received in the first place! The only good thing was that they didn't charge me for the salad.
I made a reservation for four people for dinner on 8/17/19. This occasion was to celebrate the birthdays of two of the four. On the reservation, I wrote that we were celebrating two birthdays. When the hostess checked me and my husband in, I told her we were there to celebrate the birthdays of the other two members in our party who had not arrived yet. I asked her to let our server know. When our server came to the table, I asked him if the hostess had let him know about the birthdays. She had not, but now he knew because I had told him myself. During the entire dinner, not one mention was made by the server about the birthdays. And we were there a long time because our server seemed to have disappeared after picking up an empty plate from our table. In the meantime, we all finished eating and sat for a while. Finally we asked for the check and when we got up to leave, the hostess says to my two friends, “Happy Birthday”. Gee, a little anti climactic.
Also, the server never mentioned the specials, never asked if he could bring anything else except for more bread, which he never brought, or if we’d like to order dessert. And, we ordered a $35 carafe of sangria that was mostly ice.
This was a special occasion for my friends that turned out to be very disappointing.
We really enjoyed our meal at Piazza Gavi. The food is exception, with a wide variety of choices. The prices are fair. However, we did note on our reservation form that we were celebrating an anniversary and neither the waiter or hostess made any mention of it. We thought that was strange. Why bother asking if they aren't going to do anything about it.
Wonderful Italian food. Good wine. Very good service.
The food is always amazing, the service is spectacular and the wait staff’s knowledge of the menu is incredible. You can never go wrong with Gavi’s
PIazza Gavi has been a favorite for many, many years. However, on this last Saturday night it was a little bit disappointing. Restaurant was extremely crowded with every table taken and people waiting and the noise level was overpowering. We could not carry on a normal conversation with the five of us at the table. Our server seemed quite rushed in fact told us a few times how busy they were that night, so we did not get the warm, personalized service than I am used to there. Out of the five of us, three of us ordered a veal Parmesan. It was not the fork tender veal that I am used to at Gavi. Although the taste was there and the dish enjoyable, the veal was thicker than usual and therefore became chewy towards the middle of it. All three of us agreed on this. I also mentioned that there were two birthdays at the table to our server and this was completely ignored which again is unusual there.
Loved the ambiance although it is too noisy to have a conversation with four people at the table. I ordered the fresh clams with white sauce. It was so salty I couldn’t eat it. Everyone else likes their meals. I would try it again. The menu was extensive so I’m certain I could find something yummy.
We love dining at Piazza Gavi. We have never received bad service, and the food is always delicious.
We took my cousin and her husband before they left town. They LOVED it!!! Dean had a seafood dish and it was so generous and he said delicious. Cousin had a chicken dish that she also loved but could not finish. We had the veal Milanese. We get that often because it is so wonderful and tasty. The appetizers are always delicious and I look forward to the pistachio and chocolate gelato. (Best Gelato in town!) I was nice enough to share with my husband. And it also is generous. We LOVE GAVI'S. You won't be disappointed.
We were sat outside and it was very hot. They didn’t have sprinklers and just one fan that blew hot air. There was also a large grasshopper and tarantula roaming around the area. We were never offered to be moved inside or have another fan put out for us. But The server was personable and kind though and the food was good. Management needs to take better care of the outside Dinning area and only seat outside if they can accommodate during hot times of the month. It was unacceptable that they let us eat outside without sprinklers with a tarantula.
Best Italian food in Southern AZ. Outstanding!! The portions are huge--take home some for lunch the next day.
Piazza Gavi is an excellent restaurant with exceptional staff. Our waiter - Daniel - was nothing short of fantastic . Excellent food as well.
Very disappointing. First visit since rest. moved from Broad way Pantano. Very loud, conversation not possible. Had to request table setup and utensils. Food okay tho order was incomplete. 40 minutes in and out. Guess that means service was fast? Cost double old place for half the enjoyment. Won't be back. Typical Tucson experience. All hat, no cattle!
I hadn't been to piazza gavi in years, but it was always a favorite of mine. As I'm moving out of Tucson soon, I wanted to make sure I went at least one more time. Things were slightly different, and wow, has it gotten busier! But the food was incredible. And HUGE portions. Our server was outstanding...considering how busy it was, he never seemed rushed or overwhelmed. My water glass was always full and he was attentive and friendly. As I looked around the restuarant, it seemed like all the servers were that way. Very impressive. If I have time, I definitely want to go back one more time before I move-even if its just for takeout.
