We were there for our anniversary. This is one of our go to places. They take great care of us. The service is always friendly, they seat you on time and you can dine as fast or slow as you want.
Have not been to the restaurant for a few years and was very pleased to see that it had very good service very good food and was a restaurant I’d like to go back to again. My friends had the lunch special which included two very nice pasta and a salad and I had a Caesar salad with frito misto on top. The calamari was cooked perfectly. This is a Fine restaurant which has managed to keep its Standards high for many many years
This my local go to for excellent and authentic Italian food. Always impressive and consistent.
The food was tasty but the servers were not terribly friendly. The portions were small for how expensive it was
One of our favorite downtown Mill Valley restaurants.
Took friends from out-of-town; they were impressed. We always ask to be seated in the back room (no kids); great for conversation. Good food, warm ambience, attentive wait staff, and of course, it's located in downtown Mill Valley.
We love meeting friends here for lunch. It can be noisy at peak time, so we try to get a table in the alcove by the window, or just come later.
Great service. Good food and nice wine list. Lovely dinner.
We had a wonderful birthday lunch! The food was outstanding, and very generous quantities.
Consistently good food.
Fantastic as always! Terrific service and food!
It feels like a special night but also casual. The food is good and worthy, without being precious. The atmosphere is lively but one is able to have a conversation. There is parking and they take a reservations. Great pre-theater for MTC. My review would have been even better but the waiter was just okay and normally they are quite good here.
We were 15 people and the table was nice but a bit crowded
Some people got served before others who were there earlier and needed to leave earlier with their food to go instead of enjoying it at the table
Have eaten here often. We were a party of 5 and the waitstaff was wonderful. Very attentive even though the restaurant was busy. We come here early as it can get quite load, Always have enjoyed this restaurant and will return.
Very disappointing. We sat unnoticed for 10 minutes before flagging down a waiter, who wasn't "ours." Another 5 for fulfilling drinks order, incorrectly. One half of the $10 Caesar salad was made with visibly discolored, old lettuces, removed to a separate plate and noted to the server. But full price was charged.
We've had good meals here but will be looking for other places in Mill Valley now.
Service rushed. Owners children don’t seem to care or know how to run a restaurant, seafood linguine great, sea bass marginal. Probably our 20th time there and sadly, our last. Waiter rude. J
It was a really nice restaurant with lots of good servers
well prepared, tasteful fare. Excellent prix fixe lunch - delicious sole and spinach
We had another wonderful experience at Piazza D'Angelo! The food, service, ambiance and wines were excellent as always. Looking forward to the next dinner with them.
My wife and I ate here on Monday night, December 24th-Christmas Eve, or in our case, our 51st wedding anniversary! Despite the crowds, the service was attentive, food excellent, noise reasonable and parking readily available. This is a great, consistent Marin restaurant no matter what the occasion.
Christmas Eve dinner. Great food, great sraff
I ordered the soup, veal scallopini, and gelato. All were delicious. Portions are large. Excellent service.
Very loud the night we were there. Server was great..Angelina. Silly $10 Ceasar Salad.. just sloppy dressed lettuce with nothing else and soggy bottom pizza
Were looking forward to our dinner here as we have in past years .Sadly the food was terrible as well as the presentation . The ambiance was not good for us and a few tables as the lighting was not working correctly one table the guests were using the flashlights on their phones to see their food. Food was over cooked and a very sloppy presentation . We shall not return
Had our 2nd Annual Holiday party there...amazing service. Felt very special and lucky to have such a great place to go...so convenient for the group! Thank you!!!
Excellent homemade pasta, creative entrees, & full bar.
We love Piazza D'Angelo's! Although it is our favorite neighborhood dinner spot, it is worth a drive. The food is authentic Italian, the pasta homemade, the fish always fresh. The kitchen has happily accommodated our special requests, which is no small thing. The waitstaff and buspersons are gracious, prompt, well-informed, and discreet enough not to interrupt a conversation. Felicia and Luigi, the owners who have taken over from their fathers, the Petrone brothers Paolo and Dominic, have hit just the right note - updating the space and the menu just enough to feel fresh, but not enough to disturb the traditions we all love. Thank you to Felicia and Luigi, Paolo and Dom, for 39 years of offering our family and the community a festive, lively, and delicious place to gather!
A very enjoyable dinner...delicious food, good service, quality all around...definitely will return
To hell with "energetic" for the noise level. It is intolerable. Three of us in a booth and we could not hold a conversation. I have lived in Mill Valley for 50 years, and patronized this restaurant for most of its existence. This is the last time. If you are a single diner, and have no companion to converse with, you can get a good meal here. If you are paired--forget it. You might as well order in a pizza and skype your friend.
I ate lunch -- salad of mixed greens with walnuts and barlotti beans, pasta bolognese -- and my spouse ate brunch -- french toast with mascarpone and berries, maple syrup dripping down the edges, and a side order of mild sausage -- and we were both so happy! Lovely room, lovely service. We easily made our curtain at Marin Theater Company just up the street.
I cant believe this restaurant in Mill Valley is so popular. The Bolognese pasts was on the level of Hamburger Helper, utterly tasteless, although the fettuccine noodles were definitely homemade and good. When i mentioned the tasteless of the sauce to the waitress, she said "sorry about that" and made a quick exit. The fireplace was lovely, the noise level deafening, and i would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Great service, fun times. 5 star except the food is a bit salty
I have dined at Piaza D'Angelo for many years. I am a local Mill Valley resident and know I can always count on this restaurant for consistently great meals and excellent service.
The food, as always, was excellent. The service was very slow. They must have been short staffed be sure in the past the service has been excellent.
Our two pasta entrées were poorly prepared. My pasta vongole was a big lump of glutinous spaghetti surrounded by clams and a bland oversalted sauce. I had to mix the two together. The mushrooms pasta was dry with a bitter aftertaste that later made my date feel ill. I’ve eaten here a half dozen times recently and never had such poorly prepared pasta.
The service was as usual very friendly and attentive and even though it was busy we were never rushed. I like this restaurant and hope management pays attention to this lapse in food quality.
The service was very good, the servers friendly and attentive.
The food was executed well, but there was nothing exceptional about it. For instance, the steamed spinach and broccoli were not overcooked, but there was nothing from a flavor perspective that added anything to the preparation--just generic vegetables. The veal scallopine, again, was cooked well, but lacked that extra oomph/dimension that would elevate the restaurant beyond many other 'meets expectations' Italian restaurants--and for the relatively high price, certainly not exceptional.
If you're looking for a convenient neighborhood restaurant with a nice atmosphere and good service, but average cuisine, Piazza d'Angelo won't disappoint. If you're looking for something that's a cut above from a taste perspective, you're more likely to find it at Picco's or Poggio.
Excellent specials which change frequently.
Veal was extremely tender & tasty.
We celebrated our 6year old’s birthday and had a wonderful meal with great service! It feels like family when we eat there.
Highly recommend Butternut Squash Ravioli & the Sole ❤️
We ordered a veal scallopini artichoke dish & a wonderful risotto with crispy bacon, both were delicious. The service was charming but at the same time professional. This place is big enough to be both a good date night spot and a family outing treat (with usually pretty well behaved children). Just ask to be seated somewhere quiet if you don't want to hear kids. I give this place 5 Hearts!
We so enjoyed a excellent dinner. The truffle items were terrific.
