We dined on a Saturday night. Easy to make reservations. Great service and the food was terrific. Asparagus with crab is now a favorite - Stuffed shrimp was a hit too!
Greeted at the door and later at our table by the owner John. Obvious he keeps a careful eye on things and is invested in operating an efficient and top class restaurant. We will recommend and will definitely return!
The consistency of high quality meals and service is the hallmark of Piatto's. Never disappointed going there...and I go often!
This place was practically empty at 8pm on a Wednesday evening and for good reason: the food was incredibly ordinary, full of salt and not fresh. I am a decent cook and my pasta is much better.
Convenient location in Galleria, with adequate self parking in the evening and a valet if desired. We enjoyed seafood entrees and a bottle of Chiante - reasonable selection.Private room was in use for a group of 12-15. Service was prompt. Unassuming "neighborhood" feel, a not too noisy, and well priced.
Very good food with reasonable prices. Will definitely return for dinner.
Made reservation for my God-son and his girlfriend for Valentines. The staff did amazing job making a wonderful evening for them. Heard rave reviews
Great food and great service - great place to get together with friends and visit while dinning.
Neither my husband or I thought our food was anything but ordinary
My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful meal. He had the rosemary chicken and said it was delicious. It was half a chicken-on the small side though. He also had the wedge salad and it was on a cold plate and a nice portion. I had the linguini pescatore with a lemon butter sauce instead of the spicy marinara. It had shrimp, small crab fingers, and muscles in it. The seafood was fresh and tasty. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and had great service as well. Wine was resonably priced
Obviously a favorite with the locals as it was apparent that the wait staff knew many of the diners. Food was good; not great. Portions were very generous and we loved our waiter, Juan AKA "Squash".
A hidden gem. One of the best restaurants in the city. Really fabulous Italian fare..............but strangely enough..............the absolute best filet I have ever eaten. LOVE THIS PLACE SO MUCH!!!!!
Always good Italian food and great service. Convenient location. A must try.
Come here for pasta.
Salads are pretty basic ... not an organic produce ...
The food was really good especially the appetizers. One could make a meal just from the appetizers.
Disappointing experience at Piatto tonight. We’ve come to this restaurant for years, and have always had positives experiences. Unfortunately, this visit was not up to their usual standards. It was a busy night, and it was obvious the staff was running around to try and keep up with the high demands. We had about 3 different waiters, and it appeared they weren’t talking to each other. Our appetizer came out quickly, which was great, but our salads came with them (although they forgot 1 persons). It would have been nice to have the appetizer, and then the salad. Then we waited a very long time for our entrees....a very, very long time. So long that one waiter came over to acknowledge the long wait. When the food finally came out, my entree was all wrong. So I had to wait about 10 min for mine while everyone else ate theirs (I was not about to make them wait any longer). And it was obvious my entree was quickly thrown together, as it was not the usual presentation or taste. The waitstaff apologized for the mistake, but the manager never even came by to acknowledge it. We got coffee and a small dessert, and not that I’m looking for comped stuff, but it would have been the right thing to give us coffees or the kids ice cream on the house. But no...everything was listed on the bill, including my crappy $36 thrown together entree. Shame on you Piatto. You lost a long time customer tonight. Best of luck.
Great food and service
Little hard to get to with all the road construction
Worth the drive from the burbs
Very crowded and very very loud could have done without the music
Delicious as always! The gentleman busing the table was a little too quick to remove dishes -- generally a good thing, but on this occasion was irritating. He took away my sister's bread plate while she was waiting for more bread and then attempted to remove the bread bowl while there was still bread in it (stopped him on that one) and he got visibly upset with us for stopping him. The waiter was very attentive.
It was an excellent venue for New Year's eve with a small gathering of friends. Piattos accommodated us and provided great food and service
Piatto is still one of the best kept secrets in Houston. It never disappoints.
Always look forward to coming to Houston so we can dine at Piatto. John Carrabba always does an outstanding job serving his customers
The service is always nice and the food is well prepared and nicely presented. When we arrived it was still quiet which allowed us eat and be able to carry on a conversation without having to shout. The food is consistently good.
We went as a group of 6 and were easily accommodated at a table that was big enough to fit us, which was round and very conducive to all around conversation. The wait staff was very friendly and professional and constantly checked in on us without being intrusive. The food was excellent and came out promptly. Particular highlights were the asparagus and crab appetizer, the linguine with clams and the seabass. The wine selection was very good and reasonably priced. We look forward to going back.
Hadn’t been in awhile. The asparagus and crab appetizer is still fabulous! Tried a pasta dish this time- the mezzaluna was delicious. Don’t know why I stayed away so long. Great service and good food.
Really nice dinner. Service was excellent and the food tasty. We had Chicken Romano and Risotto Primavera with calamari as an appetizer. Nothing to complain about. We'll be back.
Amazing food and service! This is such a hidden gem. I'm so sad the construction is impacting the servers livelihood and hope to visit more to help out!
the food was really good, very fresh. my husband had a simple spaghetti and meatballs and the simple sauce was quite tasty - i could just eat that with a spoon by itself so good. i had the tuscan shrimp and it was so good also. my only issue is the place itself felt dated and needs and update. the walkways for the servers were very cramped so it felt like you were constantly being walked over. the food was exceptionally good though.
always a great restaurant - quiet enough for conversation - always good food -- friendly service
One of my favorite lunch spots, both for pleasure and business. Very good family. Family owned and run. Very dependable.
Great as always!
The service was great - quick; the food was delicious. It lived up to its reputation and our expectation. It's also a fun atmosphere with quick service which is very ideal for lunch.
Quiet place! Exceptional service. Great tasting food!
Love this place, the food quality is great as is their service. Great place for lunch or dinner.
The service (Vasquez) was just attentive enough without being intrusive. The asparagus appetizer is outstanding and is something not found elsewhere. As usual, Johnny Carrabba was a gracious host and greeted us personally.
The was my first time trying this place out and I have to say the food was DELICIOUS!!!....The service was wonderful our waiter answered all the questions we had about the menu and also recommended a great bottle of wine!
So many things wrong I don't know where to start! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE starting with the hostess. Opentable had a website error and sent me an email showing my points redeemed, but did not confirm my time. I called to confirm as I had company joining us from out of town (4 hour drive). I left a vm with no returned call. I also specifically stayed away from 'kid friendly' friendly, as this was an adult evening and none of us have kids. I contacted the restaurant a second time when we got lost and a very rude hostess told me 'show up whenever!' (and still didn't tell us how to get there, just that we were not in the right spot, as we had clearly figured out) I want y'all to know the place is very small, and I did not want to wait AND I had people who drove quite a bit to join me. I walked in and the snarky hostess told me I could sit where I wanted rather than sitting us as there were only a select two tables that were open. I also felt like I was in a zoo, from infants screaming to preteens wandering in between tables that were crammed together ... it is not ideal. I would have left except my points had already been allocated to this restaurant. I was then served a meal that was cold on top and warmish on the bottom. There is nothing authentic about this Italian food and I can see why there were so many kids there. Reminded me of college day TV dinners. Lack of seasoning and poor delivery. My husband had a stuffed shrimp that was decent, however it was served with a rice pilaf of sorts, that if I could have spit out I would have. Save yourself and go Tango and Malbec one block up. BETTER staff and much better food. Do yourself a huge favor and retrain or fire that hostess. I could have overlooked the food, and tried again as our waiter was excellent and thought you may have had an off night - but I will never go back because of that girl up front.
This place is awesome. I’ve been a loyal customer for over 10 years. ALWAYS delish food and service. Our waiter Enrique is the best!!!
The food was excellent and got our group in and out timely... menu provided gluten free pasta options for my celiac son... recommend to anyone.
Food excellent -- Service Friendly - Enjoyable evening.
