Dining month options were great! Food was amazing!

We have walked past Piattino over the past couple of years and were excited to try it on PDX Dining Month. I made a reservation in advance. They sat us next to the bathrooms & waiters station. (Need I say more...) I ordered off the dining month menu and my husband got a pizza. We ordered a bottle of wine and the waiter went to get glasses. He never brought the glasses until we asked about 10 minutes later. The pizza arrived first. My first course came as my husband was finishing his dinner. The main course came even later. I was sorely disappointed not only with the ambiance & service but also with the food. It was just okay.

I would think that by participating in PDX Dining Month restaurants would raise the bar because here is your chance to get new customers. I won’t go back.

Everyone at our table enjoyed the offerings of the PDX Dining Mo menu. The food was delicious and our server was outstanding.
We will return.

The food was sub par, pasta was way over cooked. Meat balls were not house made. Upon our arrival I did not have a chair at my table and had to wait before the waiter to find one. Leaving me standing awkwardly among other patrons. No silver ware either. Will not go back.

We’re residents in Portland and go to lots of events downtown. We participated in dining special and enjoyed the 3-course meal. We hope to go again.

Man, what great food. :) It's super close to Powell's Books which makes it perfect for a date night (within walking distance), but the only issue we ran into is that it's fairly cramped. There's not a lot of elbow room and it's tough to carry on conversations, BUT here's the deal - the authentic Italian cuisine and self-made bread are to die for. A must-eat in Portland, albeit maybe away from the frantic dinner hours.

in a city like portland, where food and service can be amazing Piattino was fine. the pizza was okay, great if you weren't in portland but we'd never go again when we have so many other options for wood fire oven pizza. appetizers & salads were also fine - just not alot of oomph with regards to original taste. and the waiters carrying around huge iPads to jot down orders was a total turn off.

We had a wonderful meal for Valentine's Day at Piattino! Delicious food, wonderful service, friendly to my special dietary needs (vegan). Great alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage options. Intimate and cozy atmosphere. We will be back!

Went for the second time with a friend on Valentines Day, and it was great. The food was fantastic and our waitress was incredibly nice and helpful. Their garlic bread is amazing and I am obsessed with their gnocchi. I know I’ll be back soon.

Great dinner that surpassed our expectations! Definitely try the crab pasta dish!

We ordered an appetizer to share and each of us ordered a first course followed by an entree. The server was confused by what we ordered and how he should order it on his iPad. My salad came first followed by the appetizer and then my husbands soup. Within 8 minutes our entree arrived. We were rushed and didn’t have time to eat any of the appetizer let alone our first course. I was served a vegetable medley of mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, and 3 small asparagus pieces instead of the asparagus the menu described and I have a tomato allergy.

Exceptional show at the Armory followed by an early dinner. The roasted cauliflower was amazing and I will probably crave it for awhile! Great service and atmosphere

Very small tables too close together. My husband had to move every time the table next to us sat or got up. Was bumped many times by the waitstaff serving tables next to and beheld us.
Good food but the bumping and moving ruined the experience for us.

Elegant and simple space, excellent service with very nice menu. Great venue for conversation and business lunch opportunities.

This was our first visit and we will definitely go back. Soup was delicious. Main pasta dishes were also delicious. My only complaint would be the bruschetta appetizer. The bread was too thick and the toppings too cold, obviously straight from the fridge which resulted in diminished flavor. Service was great and the ambience cozy and pleasant on a cold stormy winters evening.

The food at Piattino was ok, I was hoping for it to be better because we alway see it busy. We will give it another shot! The staff was REALLY nice!

Service was good, food and wine were mediocre. I was hoping for something better. The red sauce resembled Campbell's Tomato Soup. I wish I had something more positive to report.

Has found a nice niche with an interesting menu and Portland vibe within an Italian theme. Everything was well prepared. Staff takes very good care. Look forward to returning.

Have eaten here for lunches and dinners. Excellent menu selections with great flavor combos. Substantial portions. Service is attentive yet casual. Highly recommend.

This little gem never fails to please. Cozy setting, great bar and excellent food. Great selections and good wine choices. Our waiter took very good care of us as did the very pleasant gentleman behind the bar.

We will definitely return! Our waitress was personable and helpful, and the food was delicious. The pane bianco was superb. We never felt rushed - it was a relaxing dinner.

The space is cramped and noisy due to poor accoustics. My chair was continually bumped, despite my pulling up to the table with my belly in contact with the table. Service was average, though we had to ask several times for items like a spoon for the pasta, etc. One server seemed a bit crabby when I asked for cheese for the minestrone-style soup, as she was careful to note it normally is not offered with the soup. The entress were very good, but the soup was overcooked (all veggies were mush), and we did not get a credit when we returned the soup. The desserts were the best part of the meal, with the pear and goat cheesecake being the must have. The menu is awesome, with a huge selection, and many of them good for vegetarian fare. We won't return to this location, as the ambience is terrible, but might try them again if they relocate to a better facility.

The biggest problem with this restaurant is that it is really cold if you have a table near the door - even when they close the curtain. And, some of the tables are too high for a shorter person to comfortably sit at if they are on the benchseat.

In the heart of the Pearl a great welcoming Italian restaurant. The staff and obviously proud of the restaurant. Food was amazing. All fresh and so much flavor! Lots of options. You won't leave this place hungry!!!

We were pleased on our first time visit here. With so many Italian restaurants in Portland, this one easily can claim a position in the top five. Both pasta dishes we had were properly seasoned and prepared. For those with a gluten concern, they offer two pasta choices.

Too many diners for just two waitstaff. The kitchen was fast but the service was slow and inconsistent. The bartender was also extremely slow -- took forever to get our drinks. Part of that could have been due to the overburdened waitstaff.

Average Italian restaurant, too much light to feel cozy, a good fit for everyday dining, not for a special night.

Quiet, intimate environment, perfect for a date night and for family dinners! Beautiful interior, lots of wood! The service was impeccable and the staff is so so so incredibly nice. I always feel like I am at home when I come to Piattino!

My wife had the pappardelle lamb ragu and I had the fra diablo. Both were outstanding. We’ve both previously had lunch on numerous occasions, which were always very enjoyable. The dinner was however much more enjoyable than we had anticipated. The wine selection was well priced and very suitable. The ambiance was intimate. A definite repeater.

Excellent menu with great choices for all. Food was delicious and beautifully presented. We felt very welcomed and the service was excellent.

First time visitor. The whole meal was outstanding. We will all be back
