Was good! They were a bit busy, so the food / drink timing wasn’t the best. Our food was great tho.
We were a party of 7, I love that we were seated at a round table, great for conversation! The menu choices were great, food was great. Service was slow, but it was peak time on a Friday night during a labor shortage. All service staff were working super hard. Thanks for a 5 star evening!!!!
Great experience! Food was delicious, drinks were amazing. Our server Jen was great and gave us great suggestions! Everything she suggested was perfect!!! Can’t wait to come back!
Seated immediately the server was conscientious and professional. She kept coming back to make sure we were okay. Food was good - just not enough of it!! All in all it was a pleasant experience
The food was delicious and the ambience was warm and inviting. But it was the service by Rachelle that was fantastic!!
Seated promptly for a 5:45pm reservation though surprised to see tables placed so close together. Another family next to us had a child behind me that was so close to us that his chair kept banging against me throughout most of the meal. We were all prepared to show our COVID vax cards, but were never asked which perhaps was an oversight. Deb, our server, was excellent and regretfully informed us that warm bread was not available for early dinner service which was disappointing and then later informed us that the espresso machine was down, so no coffee drinks were available with dessert. The speed and quality of food service was excellent with generous appetizer and family-style salad portions. Our entrees included impossible lasagna, ravioli, and clams with squid ink pasta which were all excellent. The only slight critique is the ravioli entree was noticably undersized compared to the other entrees, so plan accordingly. Dessert was a major letdown and is the area in need of improvement. The tiramisu was disappointing, and there are more gelato and sorbet choices offered at local family pizza joints. It seems addiing a few dessert items, eg. creme brulee, fresh fruit dish or lemon cake would make a huge difference and complete the meal.
Excellent food and ambience. The service was good to with the restaurant taking pain to print a menu with Happy Birthday at the top of the menu.
The service was slow and the shrimp was dry and overcooked. This is not what I expect from this typically excellent restaurant.
Good service, good food and nice patio seating for lunch.
The bread is a must as well as the chopped salad why hi how is enough to share with 2-3 people. The pasta dishes are fresh and flavorful. Ate dinner here twice on our trip to Seattle.
The food was ok. The olives and Brussel sprouts were doused in oil, which really took away from the flavor of the foods. The pizza and halibut were good. We had to hunt our server down a few times when we wanted to order more drinks or needed condiments. I wouldn't likely go back.
Visited with my adult nephew for lunch, and found Piatti very nice. I would dine there again. We arrived right at opening (11:30) and were seated immediately respecting my preferences as noted in my OpenTable reservation. The gentleman that seated us was very pleasant, personable and professional, as were our 3 different servers. The table was a bit sticky in one area, and though they assiduously disinfect, they simply missed a spot and were happy and quick to correct it. We began with the antipasti fritti (which was suitable to share) and tasty. My nephew had the rigatoni bolognese which he said was served hot and tasty; I had the short rib with polenta which was truly done to perfection and very tasty. Service was attentive without being intrusive, and both the patio, interior and bar spaces offer very comfortable and attractive spaces and seating that is comfortably distanced. The restaurant adds an additional 5% to the total (not paid to the server) and, while I do not like to quibble and this is a "cut above" Italian restaurant, the prices seemed a tad high for lunch. ($12.00 Aperol spritz, $4.50 for American coffee, $19.00 rigatoni, $22.00 short rib) Having said that, our food was very good, portions were quite sufficient, and best of all the staff was simply delightful from the moment we walked in the door. I imagine this venue is very busy in the evenings and weekends...it's a nice choice for adults, but could physically accommodate little ones (check out the on-line menu in advance though) or large groups. University Village is a hopping place, so plan on parking in the free garage with a nice little walk to the restaurant. I will definitely return. Very yummy and very friendly.
Food was good but service was slow and unintentional. My party shared a pizza and salad, both were looked good. I had the short rib which was good but the polenta was marginal. I asked for bread and the olive bread was great but I was charged for it when I just asked for a roll to replace the polenta. That was really disappointing.
good food, good service, outdoor patio and moderately priced
Lovely lunch on the patio with friends.
Everything tasted great and the service was fabulous!
Delicious! Great place to meet up with friends. Love the warm focaccia bread with dipping oil.
Piatti's is better than it used to be. It is not a good place for people who want to converse, however, as the noise level is beyond reasonable.
Great food and ambience. Perfect when you want a restaurant that is nice but not stuffy.
Both entrees were way too salty. Salads were good, bread was good. Wait staff was over-booked on her tables.
Outstanding Italian Bistro.....modestly priced, very accessible, very friendly staff!
I have eaten all at your properties with my two daughters and mother. Your menu has changed drastically and you charged us for bread. Four times. I will never eat at your restaurant again. Ee had to ask for everything. Cheese, chili flakes, oil, salt and pepper. This is not Acceptable and our waiter was not service oriented, this is not a covid matter!
Piatti updates their menus quite regularly, and quite often. The offerings were tweaked a bit and there were some new dishes. My wife likes raviolis and ordered a dish. It had a cream sauce so we switched that to Bolognese, as she has lactose issues. Nothing we could do about the ricotta cheese in the raviolis though. There were also 5 large raviolis. So, she had plenty of room for dessert.
I ordered the Squid Ink Linquine with clams. The sauce was good, a light wine sauce, but the clams were spiced, and for me, it ruined the meal. I like to taste the pasta with the sauce and I love shellfish of all kinds, but I want to taste the pasta and the shellfish, no spice. I can eat spice, but do not prefer it on most meals. I was not aware and not warned that it would be spicy.
Service was good, although a little slow. and bread, wine, dessert were all great. Price was reasonable, not cheap, but not crazy either.
Special Mother's day for my wife was good for her not for me.
I still think this is a good restaurant, but I am more of a traditional Italian and probably would not go back unless I review the menu and see something that I like first.
Excellent food. Great service. Only thing I would change is that the server did not come over to ask for drinks or appetizers until the whole party arrived. Parking in the U District can take a while sometimes. Would have been nice to get the appetizers in early as the group was hungry.
We were there for the Mother's Day brunch and were seated outdoors. Everyone enjoyed their choices. I had the grilled halibut, which was outstanding. My daughter had the short ribs, very tasty. My husband had a spaghetti dish with shrimp and my son-in-law, a ravioli dish. The service was excellent as always.
My mom, mother in law, sister in law and I had an amazing lunch yesterday.
We love the restaurant and will absolutely be back soon.
Sparse food menu for Mother’s Day. Would have liked more brunch egg selections. Service charge should be posted on the menu
One of the best dining experiences I have had. What a great staff and amazing food!!

It’s was a very romantic place and the food was absolutely delicious. The warm olives are a must as well as the bread.

I was disappointed.

Celebrated new years at Piatti and really enjoyed the experience and quality of food despite sitting outside due to government regulations (covid19).
Thanks for dining with us & for your kind words, MattS. We hope you'll dine with us again soon.
We ate outside in 30+F weather with heaters and tents in Seattle on Christmas Eve.....the service and food were as good as can be expected given the circumstances...Overall Oiatti did a very good job and I am VERY GLAD they were open to serve us! Thank you Piatti staff!!
Thank you for your kind words Jon! We're happy to hear you enjoyed your holiday meal with us. We're thankful you chose to dine with us and look forward to seeing you again soon! My Best, Erin GM
Excellent for business lunch. Quiet, tables well spaced, very good food & service.
I took my girlfriend to this restaurant for her birthday.
We have been there before but it was so-so experience this time because (1) I requested the table seating when I made a reservation but the host took me to one of bar seat. (2) two servers forgot our request to bring new clean plates for pastas (3) calamari was sooooo salty. I told the server but he didn’t do anything about it.
Tasty food, but small portions. Fair service. Expensive.
Food and service were very good with low noise level.
I miss the portobello veggie sandwich.
terrible wait staff. Had to ask for silverware and napkins!!
The pasta he recommended was so bland and tasteless. Doubt I would go back.
Hi Peggy. Thank you for your feedback. I'm so sorry you had a negative experience with our food and service. It's obvious we didn't meet your expectations and for that I apologize. It is difficult to improve the restaurant when we do not know all of the problems, so thank you again for taking the time to let us know. In an effort to improve our menu and service standards, I will be sharing your comments with our team. I do hope you'll give us another chance to shine. My Best, Erin
Disappointing changes in the menu!! This has been our “go to” place, but certainly not now. They have cut their menu down to far fewer choices—only three entrees: chicken, steak, and a lamb special. Plain Jane. This is the Northwest, but not one fish or shellfish main course.
Even pasta dishes are pretty basic. One has some shrimp, but with lots of red sauce. One has clams, but with sausage. No scallops. No fish. Little that is light.
Also gone is the marvelous octopus appetizer, the seared tuna main dish salad and the steak salad.
Tonight was my fifth meal at Piatti since Dec.24, 2019. But I must not be the customer profile they are looking for. Sad! So tonight was my fifth and I don’t want it to be my last...but the “new” menu simply does NOT appeal.
Hello. Thank you for your feedback, a less loyal guest might not have taken the time. I am glad to hear that you have previously enjoyed coming to Piatti frequently. I'm sorry to hear you didn't enjoy our new menu items. We're in the middle of a large menu change- we've just finished with our new Starters, Salads and Desserts. Next will come our new Pastas and Entrees. We're excited about these new menu changes and look forward to helping you find your new favorite dish. My Best, Erin GM
