Piatti - Seattle Ratings and Reviews
This is a fun little place on the edge of U-Village, great for couples, families or groups. I love the outside dining options.
Service was really great but the pasta was overcooked so I was disappointed to bite in and find it mushy. I had risotto on a previous trip and it was outstanding so I am not giving up just yet.
Had a gathering of 10 ladies for a reunion lunch...all about to turn 75! We sat outside and the service was outstanding....Bruce M. took such good care of us. It was a little chilly at first so asked for the red wraps which are so nice. I had asked if separate checks could be given out and he said no problem! Outstanding food, desserts and Bisol Prosecco was enjoyed by all. Pizza was delicious with the lovely heirloom fresh tomatoes and some had the fresh pasta with shrimp (delicious). The chocolate desserts are outstanding and also the ice creams and sorbets. Great Place for Dinner too!
We were a group of 4 plus we had a baby with us. They accommodated us with a table height sling to put the baby seat in which we had not encountered in many of the "kid friendly" restaurants that the paper has listed. Food was fabulous, service good, we were pleased.
Piatti at University Village is one of a whole group of 9 in different cities. But you'd never know it as a chain. The restaurant is very gluten-free friendly with a sub-set version of their full menu for us with that need. It skips the pizza and pasta, and only lists things that are GF or that can be prepared GF. And the food is very good at a reasonable price and friendly service. It's one of our favorites.
The best word to describe the food is 'meh.' I was excited to learn that they had a vegan menu but disappointed to see that it was filled with non-vegan dishes with the dairy and meaty bits taken away. The most expensive vegan dish consisted of several varieties of steamed and roasted veggies coated in oil. No grilled figs, couldn't taste the saba, but the service was so slow there wasn't much point in sending it back. If your parents are visiting from the midwest and are not adventurous eaters, bring them to Piatti: it's one run above The Olive Garden. Your mom will be impressed.
This was a most incredible experience! We were celebrating our daughter's college graduation and they were most accomodating. Our party of 26 was taken care of by a very efficient, helpful and flexible Luke. The manager was great, the service was fast and the food was raved on by everyone. We stayed a long time and our guests will surely be back since it was such a great time! I hesitate to give too rave of reviews because I feel like keeping this gem to myself....Lisa
I typically go with one other person and order plates to share; Piatti was very accommodating. I should have been more specific, though, about the order of plates, as the salad came before the (hot) appetizer, which I guess they thought we were treating as an entree, though we did say we'd share, and they brought extra plates. So many wonderful choices on the menu, this is one way I deal with it, while keeping my consumption and the price moderate. Nice, reasonable wine list, with three choices of volume from bottled vintages. The main room can get noisy, I recommend a table to the sides, if you can get it. We did.
Everything about this restaurant is memorable! Menu choices are excellent and include a variety that allows even picky eaters to enjoy a delectable meal. Piatti's service is beyond exceptional; employees manage the perfect balance of serving quests with proper etiquette and making guests feel comfortable and welcome with casual conversation. A perfect place to dine, whether you're looking for a lite lunch or a multi-course dinner!
Excellent Italian food. The bread alone was awesome. Expensive... but worth it. Lots of families with kids (of course it was 7:00pm). To eat we had the arancini, a mixed green salad, a pizza Margherita, and the ravioli -- the small (which had 4 ravioli, plenty after the other courses). To drink we had a glass of the house Chianti and a glass of the dry Riesling, and two espressos. All was excellent, even with the initial mix up of me getting rigatoni (which has meat, which I don't eat). The server was attentive, professional while being very accessible. We'd go back if/when we have another reserve of $80 to spend.
We did not have much time and let our server know that up front. She was very accommodating and attentive, checking in frequently to see if we needed anything, smiling, and bringing us the bill in ample time. We only had drinks and an appetizer because we were in a rush, but both were so good we lingered longer than we ought! And sitting out in the patio area was delightful! Want to do it again!
We were looking for a moderate priced restaurant close to UW campus. The server was very pleasant and helpful in finding the right menu item for my 89 year old mother -in-law and even suggested the kitchen prepare what she was looking for(fettuccini alfredo). There are 2 sizes for most of the pasta dishes, which was a perfect serving size. The bread came fresh and warm. A little noisey, but many tables with very young children and large groups celebrating birthdays or just multigenerational meals.
Piatti presents a very nice experience with a touch of elegance, attentive but not overbearing service. Food is excellent with a touch of sophistication and well-presented butthe menu is not intimidating, meaning that all in most large groups will be pleased with dinner at Piatti. Noise level allows for conversation.
The food and service were wonderful. Eveyone was very pleased with what they ordered. Crayons and paper on the tables made it enjoyable for our 17 month old too. Next time I will ask to NOT be seated by the door going out the the patio. It is a tight fit between tables when both are full and the cold air was just that...cold. Other than the annoyance of the staff going in and out the door everything was wonderful.
Lovely choices on the menu and options for smaller portions. The appetizers were inventive and delicious and the two pasta dishes we tried were well flavored and portioned. A lovely Easter meal.
The biggest drawback was that the restaurant has no view - a mall.
Food was good but not exceptional for the price. I had Halibut for $26 and it was ok but portions small even for a light eater. I went with my daughters and one had a salad that was good. None of us were wowed by the food. The service and ambiance is great!
We went to Piatti for Easter Dinner. I was impressed as my wife has dietary restrictions due to allergies. Our server, Bruce, was very helpful and also did double checks of the order. The food was marvelous and the portions were of good size. Overall it was a very pleasant experience.
