Well, it didn’t start out to be the best experience. We arrived 10 minutes before our reservation and the host was not there. There were two couples in front of us and they eventually left before the host showed up. Twice he came by to pick up menus and left. We were standing next to the door and every time it opened we got cold. From the time we walked into the door to the time we were seated was 11 minutes. To be fair he apologized and was very nice and explained everything to us once we arrived at the table. Unfortunately when you start out standing in a cold doorway for 11 minutes it doesn’t give you the best impression. Our waiter was very good and attentive and the food was excellent. We will definitely be coming back because of the food and the attentive waiter. I’m willing to overlook the host this one time, but if it happens again I’m afraid it may not lead to a future reservation.

We are new to SA and this restaurant came highly recommended. The food is fair and overpriced. It was loud and full of families with small children. Most of the patrons were in workout pants and tennis shoes. They did not have some items on the menu. The server was unprofessional and never came back to check on us. This is not a place for an upscale dinner. Only the price is upscale. It is an Italian version of TGIF's.

Not impressed with the food. The bread, however is worth going for. I advise getting something simple like pizza instead of the main courses. Otherwise you'll spend a lot of money for food that is marginal at best.

Clearly European and American standards are very distant. I have been many times in Italy and I have been taisting many different dishes. I love itaian cuisine. Our visit in Piatti was the first and the last one. The waiter was tragic. It was first time in many years I did not give a tip. The served coffee was the worst in my life. The coffee was disgusting. It tasted like washings from the coffee machine. I received a BIG TABLE SPOON for coffee. The waiter did not serve me a coffee saucer so I did not have a place to put my big table spoon down. The napkin was starched but with lots of stains, which was disgusting. The ordered pizza was very oily. We did not order dessert. This was the first and last visit in this place.

Visited Piatti's in December for my daughter's 17th birthday; we loved it. What a difference a few months can make. Burrata plate for starters... just don't do it. At 14 bucks, one might expect something more than a passable blob of burrata served with a teaspoon of "fig chutney" and 4 wedges of stale... IDK, flatbread? Piatti's has become something akin to the Olive Garden. Never again. Waiter was a disinterested and insincere adult male; bitter and petulant with a child like demeanor... food was cold and plated VERY carelessly. Pasta was dry, chicken WAY OVERCOOKED! Fellow diners were most likely raised in a barn and saw no harm in stacking their unused plates on the wood partition between the tables. Two glasses of J Lohr served in dirty wine glasses (lip prints and all). Not a huge deal if we weren't in the middle of a deadly flu pandemic. The whole affair was loud, dark, and depressing... House Music for ambiance was a nice touch.

I made a last minute decision to grab a quick dinner at Piatti and was able to make a reservation online 10 minutes before my seating time. When I arrived, I was shocked to discover that the smallish restaurant was packed (and VERY noisy) due to two large after work office parties that were taking place in the bar area (which therefore squashed my plan of grabbing some Happy Hour appetizer specials before ordering dinner). Despite the packed dining room, I received excellent service from Esteban as well as the many front of house staff that I encountered during my meal. Esteban was incredibly polite and very knowledgeable of the menu and the support staff of runners and bussers (and management) were hospitable, friendly and helpful. I ordered the portobello mushroom appetizer and while I enjoyed the flavor combination of sundried tomatoes, balsamic vinegar and fresh basil, I felt that the portion size was inadequate for the price. I chose the zucchini tagliatelle with chicken as an entree. I love that PIatti offers the option of a zucchini "pasta" dish but the sugo rossa sauce seemed a bit flat and flavorless to me and I would have appreciated if there was more chicken added to the serving. As I mentioned earlier, the restaurant was buzzing with patrons and I can imagine that conversation would have been challenging had I been dining with my husband or a group of friends. Kudos to the excellent staff. This is honestly some of the best professional service that I have received in a San Antonio restaurant. If the food were as impressive as the outstanding service, I would be very eager to return to Piatti.

We have been going here for many years...since it first opened in The Quarry. The food is consistently excellent and the wine list is adequate with good, reasonably priced selections. Service never disappoints. My favorite dish is pasta Bolognese, but have tried many other menu items and all are excellent

The food was excellent-- My veal piccata was perfect--just the right caper-lemon sauce balance and the wilted spinach with garlic was scrumptious. The mozzarella appetizer with fig confit was a hit with the family, and the desserts were worth the calories. The service was friendly yet professional and prompt. And the bartender makes a great cucumber gimlet. We would go back again.

Piatti has been a favorite since it opened at Quarry Market == terrific craft cocktails and after-dinner drink options! The food is consistently delicious and there are several options including vegetarian; the portions are ample enough that we're always able to have a second meal (which is now boxed and placed in a biodegradable bag). The desserts are sublime -- favorites are the gelato (seasonal flavors) and the tiramisu! The servers are always attentive and capable without hovering, and you don't feel 'rushed' -- a great place to eat for any occasion or no occasion at all!

Upscale Italian eatery with a nice, son, environment. The place is a bit loud but not unpleasant. The bread is delicious and fresh served with olive oil/balsamic vinegar combo with fresh garlic (I prefer roasted). Their house merlot Piatti Private is excellent with a clean finish. The cheese on the meat board was not good. way too pungent and lacked a savory element. The creme Brulee was good but a bit too thick in consistency l. we still devoured it. the service was top notch.

Excellent for my first date!... the staff knew about it and prepared a cozy corner booth for us instead of a middle of the room table.

They also barely checked in once we were served except for filling water. We preferred to be left to ourselves. All in all, great experience.

Booked reservation online. One hour before our reservation, we requested a 30 min extension as traffic was bad that day - they accommodated us with no issues. Our server was fantastic, extremely helpful with the menu choices and kept us informed of drinks as the bar was very busy. Everyone's entree was delicious as were the appetizers. The whole evening was awesome. Will definitely be back.

Great food-great service, but too noisy. The noise level reminds me of the 90’s when a noisy venue was good. They combine the active bar, background music, and a great restaurant together. Doesn’t work.

Server was amazing. There for a birthday - received call for reservation to notify me table was ready. Our server brought out the cake at the perfect time and brought a scoop of ice cream for our younger guest. Best experience so far!
