Piatti - San Antonio Ratings and Reviews
We ate a quick meal at Piatti on a rainy dreary evening. The salad was very good; 1/2 head of lettuce with blue cheese dressing and bacon bits. My wife had tasty carpaccio for her main course and I ordered a pasta dish with Bolognese sauce. It was not as good as usual, too much of atart, acidic taste. The service was very good as it usually is. We will be back soon. Piatti is an enjoyable place to eat and have a drink.
Mother In Laws 82nd Birthday and we always choose Piatti because they accommodate our special requests and allow us to order a favorite lunch menu item such as the Tilapia for my father in law and they always take time to ask chef if certain items have onion(husband hates) and sugar(me). The Stripped Bass was excellent as were the flank steak and the spinach ravioli!
This restaurant was amazing. I heard good reviews about it going in but definitely blew my mind. Kind staff, beautiful atmosphere, fine dining, open kitchen was amazing to watch, and food was extremely delicious. I have and will recommend to everyone. Plus they gave me a free birthday dessert!!!! Thank you Piatti. I will be back for sure.
Ordered gluten free pasta - gave me regular. Was very clear - I had celiac. Waited 40 minutes for food then another 10-15 for replacement. Didn't even offer to comp meal.
Likely have lost my business over this.
NOTE: penne is the gluten free pasta - question any other type
Good food, but a little crowded on Friday nights (tables too close together) bar noise makes it difficult to have any conversation without almost screaming. This restaurant needs some sound absorption decorations or better separation between bar and dining.
I made an Open Table reservation by using by computer on Tuesday, Aug 15. Since this was my first time to do this (and to dine at Piatti ) I called the restaurant on Wed, Aug 16. Talked to a gentleman and he confirmed they had the reservation. I told him it was for my Sister-in-law's birthday and wanted to be sure it took. He said he would have menus with her name, Carol, on them and a free dessert. Told him that sounded good, thanks. But, it didn't happen that way. The reservation was there Aug 18 at 6:00, but no Carol labeled menus. The waiter was so apologetic and did give her the free desert. He was very attentive to us and took care of us. Food was good.
