Delicious, as always!
Our reservation for 2015 hours was ready for our party of three. We started with the carpaccio, which is the best available in San Antonio; it is true to the traditional Italian version (rocket, capers, beef and olive oil).
I had the veal piccata, which was true to what I expect from this dish. The sauce was perfect, the veal was perfect and the spinach with garlic really punched up the plating.
The salmon was good, but not spectacular. My companion asked our server for a suggestion on cook preference; she was wrong. My companion ordered as suggested (medium) but the fillet was still too dry. If ever ordered again, medium rare would be the way to go.
Our pizza (can't recall the name) was really good but wood fired pizzas in one-off local establishments (Southtown Pizzeria, Barbaro etc.) have greater variety (Barbaro's Clams Casino). I won't knock the pie though, as it was really good.
The only knock on this trip to a favorite was the service. I'm a generous tipper, but the lack of water refills (that's what I drink for dinner) over the course of 15 minutes (even after for asking for refills twice) was unprofessional. The $100 tab got a 15% tip only because I used to wait tables for a living in my post-high school and college days.
Piatti is super loud, so this is not where you want to have a romantic night, unless you are sitting on the patio.
All in all, you won't be disappointed with the efforts from the kitchen, but you don't get to pick your wait staff.
Great food, average service. IMO this would be a much better experience if it was much quieter. This place is just way too noisy. When you have to raise your voice to speak to your partner—-well?
Very good food and service. We would return and come back.
We have gone to Piatti's for years, mostly at the IH10 location. Love their pasta menu of smaller plates that include salad and dessert as well. Service was excellent, the "pasta" dish was actually shredded zucchini, which was great, the Caesar salad was fresh and the tiramisu may have been the best we've ever had. Only downside was that inside seating was really noisy, so we decided to sit outside, which was very pleasant.
We had a party of 9 for Easter dinner and the food was outstanding along with the service . The pasta portions are large enough to split , the bread with oil is delicious and the kids loved the tableside s’mores for dessert. We will definitely return !
The food and service were good as always on Easter, I just wished the entree menu had been a bit more extensive.
The restaurant is vibrant, but acoustics are loud inside, so if it is quiet you seek, sit outside.
All very good except I thought food service was a tad bit slow
Great dinner place. Service is excellent. Making reservations was easy.
The service was outstanding from check in to leaving. Our waiter was one of the best ever, attentive, accommodating, prompt. The food was excellent. Our best dining experience since coming here. Will definitely be back. Our waiter's name was Scott. We recommend him highly.
Our waiter was condensing and rude to my group. I have heard from talking with others that they experienced the same bad attitude. It's a shame this was our service since our food was amazing.
Buena comida pero tardaron mucho en llevarla.
Really bad customer service from our servers(we never knew who was actually ours as different people kept coming) food was not as good as usual, we are regulars at the Eilan location and definitely not planning on going back to the Quarry location.
Favorite Italian restaurant
We were a little disappointed that the food was served cold as if it had been sitting there for a while. Otherwise, it tasted pretty good. The add on side salads were definitely overpriced for a little lettuce with practically nothing on it for $5.00. The server was fair , although we asked for bread with our meal but never got it. I might try it again hoping for better. The atmosphere was pleasant.
Great food, great wine, great service!
Wonderful as always! Good service and absolutely love the bruschetta.
Everything from start to finish was great. The host, supervisor, and server were attentive and friendly.
Was here for conference and wanted to get away from Riverwalk. What an awesome choice. The whole experience was superb!!
Our experience was an absolute shame abd disaster. The quality of the calamari dish was poor and the quality of fourbof six entrees we ordered ended up being terrible.
My sense is that the kitchen was very backed up as our dinner took forever to arrive.
Our server was excellent so hats off to him -but overall, our dining experience was downright terrible.
I asked the manager to call me on Saturday eve when we dined but it’s now Monday and I’ve yet to hear back.
The service was disappointing from start to finish. The server was rude, uncooperative, and inflexible. The food was fantastic, but because of the terrible and very snooty service it left a bad taste in our mouths. We asked to have just a side of salad and were told point blank, in a very unpleasant way, he could not and would not accommodate this request. From then on he practically ignored us so that we had to wait an extremely long time for our dinner. When at last he did, he brought out the wrong portion size and when we pointed this out he said he could bring a new one back in a tone that essentially said we had got it wrong, not him. As we had been waiting 1 hour and a party of five this was not an option. Truly a disappointing experience. I took my parent here who were visiting from out of town thinking this would be a very special and nice experience. We got the special experience but in the very worst way possible. I don't write bad reviews. I usually write nothing at all, but this service was so terrible I had to write something. The food is very good. Unfortunately they need to just hire a different waiter who likes and wants the job.
Made reservation online, arrived on time, table was ready, no wait, great location, superb waiter(Jose), drinks were prepared perfectly, loved Texas 75, food waa delicious, overall- great dining experience!!
The food, ambiance and service was perfect. I had asked for a quiet area for our large group and was accommodate nicely. Our group did not all arrive together but there was no rush to hurry through the meal. Located at the Quarry. Convenient to all areas of the city.
It was my first time, arriving at 11am definitely did not need reservations. Staff was very friendly and the service was exceptional.
Very nice restaurant, the staff/service was excellent and the food was good.
I just LOVE Piatti! The food and service is always fabulous.
I have service a low star more about the hostess who gave us attitude when we asked to be seated in the bar area. Not so friendly. She also didn’t record we had showed up for our reservation on Open Table. It really ruins the night when you walk in and get treated badly
Great Food and service
Amazing food and drinks, my only complaint is the noise level.
The food was good I felt they were a little on the expensive side especially for the location
A San Antonio treasure. A welcoming ambience and staff pairs with consistently delicious , classic dishes. Great cocktails and wine list. Doesn't over complicate the dining experience. It's always delightful here. Professional servers - a very rare thing!
Wow! Another awesome meal at Piatti's in the Quarry! Very attentive server. Food tasted great and was served hot. Wine was cold and refilled before I had to ask for a refill. Felt like a valued customer, and that was nice!
Well, it didn’t start out to be the best experience. We arrived 10 minutes before our reservation and the host was not there. There were two couples in front of us and they eventually left before the host showed up. Twice he came by to pick up menus and left. We were standing next to the door and every time it opened we got cold. From the time we walked into the door to the time we were seated was 11 minutes. To be fair he apologized and was very nice and explained everything to us once we arrived at the table. Unfortunately when you start out standing in a cold doorway for 11 minutes it doesn’t give you the best impression. Our waiter was very good and attentive and the food was excellent. We will definitely be coming back because of the food and the attentive waiter. I’m willing to overlook the host this one time, but if it happens again I’m afraid it may not lead to a future reservation.
The host and our server, Dakota were very friendly. I do notice that when host is busy the bussers, servers, and other staff don’t assist with greeting.
We are new to SA and this restaurant came highly recommended. The food is fair and overpriced. It was loud and full of families with small children. Most of the patrons were in workout pants and tennis shoes. They did not have some items on the menu. The server was unprofessional and never came back to check on us. This is not a place for an upscale dinner. Only the price is upscale. It is an Italian version of TGIF's.
We had a drink spilled and it took a while to get anything to clean it up with and I did it myself. There wasn’t an offer of a replacement drink, which was disappointing. The food was top notch, but it was very loud in the restaurant.
Not impressed with the food. The bread, however is worth going for. I advise getting something simple like pizza instead of the main courses. Otherwise you'll spend a lot of money for food that is marginal at best.
Clearly European and American standards are very distant. I have been many times in Italy and I have been taisting many different dishes. I love itaian cuisine. Our visit in Piatti was the first and the last one. The waiter was tragic. It was first time in many years I did not give a tip. The served coffee was the worst in my life. The coffee was disgusting. It tasted like washings from the coffee machine. I received a BIG TABLE SPOON for coffee. The waiter did not serve me a coffee saucer so I did not have a place to put my big table spoon down. The napkin was starched but with lots of stains, which was disgusting. The ordered pizza was very oily. We did not order dessert. This was the first and last visit in this place.
