Piatti - San Antonio Ratings and Reviews
Upscale Italian eatery with a nice, son, environment. The place is a bit loud but not unpleasant. The bread is delicious and fresh served with olive oil/balsamic vinegar combo with fresh garlic (I prefer roasted). Their house merlot Piatti Private is excellent with a clean finish. The cheese on the meat board was not good. way too pungent and lacked a savory element. The creme Brulee was good but a bit too thick in consistency l. we still devoured it. the service was top notch.
Booked reservation online. One hour before our reservation, we requested a 30 min extension as traffic was bad that day - they accommodated us with no issues. Our server was fantastic, extremely helpful with the menu choices and kept us informed of drinks as the bar was very busy. Everyone's entree was delicious as were the appetizers. The whole evening was awesome. Will definitely be back.
Went to Piatti's for NYE, early dinner with my 97 yr old mom and other family. Food and service were great. However, we felt blindsided to learn that the menu was prix fixe $55 pp. Not an unreasonable cost for three courses but we weren't told in advance, we expected to order ala carte. We wouldn't have had dessert and maybe some wouldn't have had salad. So the bill would have been less. Just wish we had been told when we made the reservation and not had the unpleasant surprise when we arrived. We likely would have gone there anyway but it would have been nice to know in advance. Felt slightly like a bait and switch. Great food and great service though, can't complain about that.
Although there was a not so good situation that happen, I am still going to give this restaurant an A. A situation occurred where my food didn’t arrive with the rest of the table and the rest of the table served. and finished before my food was offered.. The waiter was very attentive and kept his eye on the situation and offered me something else even bringing the manager over to the table and offering a free meal. Due to the fact we were late for the theater I could not take them up on the situation but I do want to point out that the restaurant did everything it could to satisfy me while I was there. To me that deserves an “A “ FOR EFFORT. This is the character a restaurant should have. Although the situation was a problem on their part they did everything they could to try to satisfy the situation-although the time frame did not allow us to do that. Again I am giving this restaurant and an “A” for effort and will plan to come back again. It is one of my favorites.
Requested a quiet table for a girls get together. It was perfect in the back by a fireplace. We arrived for happy hour, but those specials are reserved for bar area only. Slightly disappointed.
Server was prompt. Bread is perfect with oil and herbs to dip. Bib salad is so tasty. Pasta was delicious. Tiramisu is wonderful. Definitely will dine there again.
Food was very good. The walnuts on the Bibb salad were a little too sweet, but it was still a great salad that was perfectly dressed. Brianna was sweet, but it would've been nice had our plates been replaced in between courses. But her kind personality more than made up for it. Enjoyed our first visit and we look forward to our next one. Great job overall by a very friendly staff and thank you for our wonderful experience.
We have been fans of Piatti since it opened 17-plus years ago. Consistently delicious, wonderful dtandards and lots of yummy seasonal menu choices. Good wine selection and very nice specialty cocktails plus the service is always great and the prices make it possible to have this be our favorite 'regular' restaurant. Highly recommend it!!
I have been to this resturant many times but this evening the food was horrible. If I been with different friends, I would have returned my food. I hardly ate any of it. I did take it with me because, I was a guest and not paying the bill. Brought the food home and put it in the trash. The noise level was not conducive to visiting.
Will not ever go back for dinner maybe for lunch.....in a pinch.
Food was very good, waiter was very friendly and inviting. Made us feel comfortable. Very noisy with a large crowd (Friday nite dining). Limited bar seating and recommend reservations. Host seated us promptly even though we arrived early. Will return for the food and customer service.
