Piatti - Sacramento Ratings and Reviews
Did not get table as requested. Placed in a table that plates had to be moved around constantly
Food overpriced. Chicken was over salted. Steak was good. Noise level is such that you can hardly hear your dinner partner talk, but could hear others talk. Also why charge for refills, with such high prices.
For 1 appetizer, 1 pizza, 2 soda’s and 2 gelato’s the price for lunch was $65 and not worth it.
We were seated at a tiny table at the far corner. My elbow kept hitting the wall and we felt cramped. We ordered calamari for an appetizer and were surprised (not in a good way) to find it had many vegetables (cauliflower, sweet potato etc. like you would expect for vegetable tempura only made with semolina flour)… it tasted awful.
We shared a sausage pizza and it was greasy, very thin crust and tasted awful.
The gelato was ok.
My husband is Italian and as an Italian restaurant it 'fell below our expatiations.
I have been taking my parents here for years on Christmas Eve...easy to have a nice dinner after church, and no cooking! This year something seems a bit “off” to me. We were looking forward to having scallops, which have been on the menu in the past, but not this year. Although the food was good, overall, it didn’t “wow” us as it had in the past. Even the dessert choices were average at best. It was a quiet night in the restaurant, other than a large party in a seperate area. Many tables open all night. This has not happened in the past, but perhaps because it was a Sunday night? I think it may be time to make new traditions for 2018.
Early evening dinner reservation at 5:45 pm for four, only to find the restaurant was already quite busy. Waited nearly ten minutes to be seated. Once seated, service from the server was quite prompt, friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. We ordered the Antipasti and a salad to share and Wood Fried Pork Chop, Pappardelle, Cast Iron King Salmon for entrée which were excellent. The Red Wine Braised Short Rib however fell short of expectation. The Prim Family "Jump the Moon" pinot noir wine was quite good.
Overall the evening was quite enjoyable with above average food and drinks. The server was commendable.
Went there for a birthday celebration and the menus had "Happy Birthday" printed out at the top. Very nice special touch for a special occasion. Service was very attentive. Salad was fresh and full of flavor; Mushroom pizza was bland - oh so very very bland. Sadly the overall thoughts of Piatti are low, all because of the bland, tasteless pizza.
Love Piatti's! The food and service are excellent. And one of the main reasons I return is that the restaurant is quiet and, unlike most restaurants, you can have a conversation without yelling at each other. I will continue to dine here with friends and family.
I love Piatti’s! And have dined at their locations in La Jolla and Palo Alto (now closed) as well.
The only off-putting thing was the all-too-common ‘waiter-ese ’ “How are WE doing? Have WE decided what WE want tonight? Do WE have any questions? ...”. Is This included in the How to be a Waiter manual?
It’s poor English and sounds stupid.
Food and service were very good, however, noise level is not conducive for table conversation which is what we wanted. Had to request music be turned down when we first arrived to an almost empty restaurant. As bar crowd filled, the entire restaurant was very noisy.
The waiter let us order dessert knowing that the restaurant was giving us a dessert for our birthday. We wouldn't have ordered dessert if we had known that information. He certainly should have informed us.
Also, I personally do not want to be served by someone in jeans. The restaurant is too nice for workers to be that casual.
We had yet again another AMAZING experience at Piatti's! Sarah was incredible, and Paul (manager) was so kind and gracious, as always! 😊 We have been going to Piatti's since Valentine's Day 2015! Thank you everyone for your incredible food, atmosphere, and hospitality.

Went for a Friday evening dinner date. Got there early, which was good considering parking was horrible. Reservation was not likely not necessary, but it did not hurt of course. Service was great. Our waiter was amazing, and the rest of the staff was very courteous. Servings were sized well for their prices and the food was quite good. Easy to spend an hour just sitting and talking after you are done eating. The ambiance is nice, simple and romantic if you want it to be. Seems like a popular place for birthday dinners and anniversaries as well. Overall, very impressed.
