Always love to have an occasion to go here. The crispy Brussel sprouts were especially good. Everything was very tasty with excellent service.

We were in Mill Valley for the weekend and wanted a good dinner. This place definitely fit the bill. Toni was an amazing server on top of everything! The food from the appetizer (the roasted brussell sprouts) to the dessert (affogato) was amazing. The wine glasses were never left unfilled. It was a great night and a memorable way to start a weekend away.

Great little place, reservations encouraged.
Valet parking available, service was one of the best I had anywhere in Marin, attention to detail.

We love Piattis, but service was very poor on this last visit. It was a busy Friday nite and it appeared they were rushed and didn't have enough staff. Even though we were in quiet area, it was so noisy. We had to ask 3-4 times for lemon and ice for our water and the whole ordering process seemed to be confused by staff. Was not the usual lovely experience we are used to.

This was a gathering of 6 friends, one who has moved away but was home for a couple of days.
We had a fine bottle of wine and the calamari appetizer while we chatted and then had lunch, mostly of salads which all looked delicious. I shared the portabello mushroom sandwich and a chopped salad with another, and both were delicious. We had a very enjoyable time and will be back for sure!!!

Lovely location by the water. Great salads and sandwich options at lunch as well as pizzas and pastas. Excellent bread! Valet parking because parking can be limited.

Great casual dinner spot. The butternut squash raviolis were exceptional, the pasta was above average, the service was spot-on and fast, the view was a plus, the prices were reasonable, and the cocktail menu was well done. Only the dessert menu and tiramisu were lacking. We were pleasantly surprised. Piatti exceeded expectations and I'd definitely go back when I'm in the area and looking for something casual.

We had reserved this spot for Thanksgiving dinner. I’d dined here several times before at different times of the year. Food was very good (both the special Thanksgiving meal and the traditional Italian fare) and service was excellent, attentive. But we were seated in a corner literally two feet from the kitchen. Probably the worst table in the place. The clanging of pots and pans was often deafening and jarring — atop the increasingly high volume of noise from other tables. My companions were elderly, making it very tough on them. Overall, a disappointing and highly unpleasant evening. Not the Thanksgiving we’d hoped for. Avoid this table like the plague — especially if you’ve reserved in advance or if it’s a special occasion. :-/

We chose Piatti for our Thanksgiving dinner, as none of us are crazy about turkey, and we know that Piatti is good, and we were not disappointed.

Had to get up and go find our waiter three times: our food for our out of town friends and watching the food come cold to the table after to much time. had to cancel a second glass of wine because we had to wait.over a half of an hour!

You are very close to a loyal and appreciative consumer.

Piatti's location makes it a "go to" restaurant for us when we are traveling 101 between the North Bay, San Francisco and the Peninsula. Nice views over Richardson Bay towards Mt. Tam enhance the dining pleasure. Food is typically tasty, nicely presented and a decent value. There is always something on the menu to please everyone in the group.

Good table for eight. Initial drink service was slow, no chance of getting a second or wine with dinner. Appetizers were good (crab cake, meatballs). Salads were okay, nothing special, huge portions (could easily share). Pasta entrees were just okay. Waiter service as poor, very slow & inattentive. Took much too long to get coffee, dessert and the check.
Understaffed? Poorly trained? Whatever, we wouldn't bother with this place again.

Fresh Italian dishes with several specials. Excellent pasta, risotto, salads, desserts. I took wine and the corkage fee was pleasingly low.Our table was in a lovely quiet area and our server was very engaged. The price was about right. We will go again.

This was a birthday celebration and we had a wonderful time catching up and eating and drinking wine. We shared the calamari appetizer which was delicious. We all had pastas for dinner. Two had the bolognese and two of us had the fettuccini with clams. We were all very pleased with our selections. Our waiter was delightful as well, and brought us a birthday brownie for dessert. We will definitely be back soon!!

Party of 6 women for a birthday lunch celebration. Everyone enjoyed their meals, and the service was good. Very loud when we first arrived ( 1pm), but it quieted down after the big lunch crowd passed thru. Enjoyed

Gulf prawn fettuccine is well seasoned and pawns not over cooked. Bread served warm with flavorful dipping sauce. Option of small or medium size portions of pasta dishes.
Friendly wait staff. Ample parking and separate room available for group dining.

We checked in a bit early and were offered a table that seemed to be in the middle of the lobby or a cold off room. Neither of these were suitable, so we chose one outside, which was cold (the heaters weren't working) but really nice. Blankets were supplied. The food was delicious. The waitress was great. The other waiter who brought the food seemed a little edgy - maybe too busy.

This was a reunion of sorts with a friend who has moved and came for a visit. We had a nice bottle of La Crema Chardonnay and the fettuccine with clams for 2 of us and the risotto with prawns for 1. We were all very pleased with our dinners and the warm bread served with oil, balsamic & garlic. Yummy! We 2 who live here will be back soon!!

Swing and a miss this evening, but we'd give them another chance.
Although the wait staff stated early on that they were 'down a server', the service really seemed like a precipitous drop-off in both quantity and quality from what we have usually experienced. Long waits for bread and water are one thing, but the lack of a smile and the dumping of the bread at the corner of the table because you're super busy is another.
From a food point of view, the crab cake was heavy but the salad was good and the entrees were very good (ravioli and capellini). The wine list is broad enough for most tastes and reasonably marked up. Espresso drinks remain excellent.
I expect we will return based on many good prior meals but we left somewhat disappointed this time.

I used to like Piatti in MV but the food and service has declined significantly. I had a steak that was under seasoned and bland served over a pile of pepperincini, very odd. My husband’s chicken, which used to be very good, was quite dry. Service was awful, we sat with empty empty drinks for several minutes and the subsequent steps just got worse and worse. We finally had to go to the host stand to get our check.

When we went to the valet we had to wait several minutes because he valet had wedged another guests car in and couldn’t get out, almost damaged their car getting it out.

The restaurant has a great location on the water but their chain restaurant side is showing.

Food and atmosphere were great, as expected. Service was horrible. We had to ask for more bread 3 times before they brought it, waited a long time for wine glasses, and coffee after the meal must have been ordered from Columbia! The server was ready to take our order right away, but we were visiting so asked him to give us more time. Then it was as though we were the forgotten table. Completely ignored for a LONG time. I would go back, as the atmosphere is great. Hopefully that server will be off or in another section.

We arrived and were basically asked what we wanted. It was strange. I shared that we had a reservation and we were lead outside by the hostess with quite a bit of delay before we received water. When someone came to wait on us they were helpful and helped us to order our food so that we could make our show nearby. The gnocchi was perfect as well as the linguini with clams. I look forward to returning to this place again to try other menu selections. It is definitely more casual than we had thought initially and that is a plus for us. Bring your sunglasses and hat for the patio it can get bright!
