Piatti - Denver Ratings and Reviews
We love this restaurant, but the lunch menu for Valentine's Day was below par compared to the dinner menu that we are used to. The special was a lobster/crab ravioli but the portion was very small for the price. I don't think five very, very small ravioli is a meal, it is more of an appetizer. We will go again, but maybe pick something else on the menu.
My husband and I recently discovered Piatti, and we are glad we did. Normally we sit at the bar during the happy hour and enjoy the $4.99 plates. The grilled romaine salads, spaghetti, ravioli, bread and pizza are our favorites. Bartender Rachael is outstanding in making martinis.
I absolutely adore Piatti and have been eating there since they opened 20+ years ago. They have valet parking at lunch as well as dinner which is a huge asset in Cherry Creek right now as there is very little street parking due to the construction. EVERY thing is delicious at Piatti. I love the entire menu-you cannot miss. I often get the salmon and a caesar, pizzas are great, I love the fritto misto-my husband loves the paninis and the veal saltimbocca. Wine list is great. Service is excellent.
We have had some good meals in the past. We had the rudest waiter comments at any restaurant. Dessert was not anything special. When the waiter asked we told it wasn't special. He told us next time he would bring us something from Dairy Queen. It will be a while we go back. Definitely need a different waiter.
The food as usual was fine. Unfortunately my friend ordered her salad without goat cheese and it came with cheese and had to be sent back. My friend ordered the chicken with Brussels sprouts and asked how the sprouts were prepared and I think we could confused the waiter and they just brought the Brussel sprouts. The waiter was terribly sweet/kind and offered to make everything right and correct the mistakes. I was surprised somewhat that when you have several errors in your order they didn’t offer us a free drink or anything to compensate for the inconvenience.
This was my 3rd visit to Piatti in Cherry Creek and I have eaten at their restaurant in Sacramento in the past. The food is superior in Sacramento. This time both my wife and I had the Veal Saltimbucco and we split a Caesar salad. The salad was a waste of money as it was so plain and almost as if someone didn't know how to make a decent Caesar - it was basically lettuce and too much cheese and a dressing that was forgettable. Not worth $11.00 at all. The Veal was relatively tough and the taste was unsophisticated. The price was $23 (approx.). The service was very good and the valet parking is great. I would have gladly paid a few bucks more for a better Veal experience. We were with friends so we decided not to make a scene and send it back. I wish we had sent them back anyway as the manager/chef needs to know this execution isn't working.
I've heard a lot about this restaurant and needed a special place to celebrate a recent accomplishment in my life with an important person. The ambiance was very warm, welcoming and not too loud, which was perfect for our conversation.
AND the food was EXCELLENT. I especially liked that, though the portions are generous and more than I could eat in that sitting, they don't serve you mounds and mounds of extra food.
A very lovely experience. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Food was good as usual.
All new wait staff was not as attentive and friendly as previous staff we have become accustomed too. The gentleman who support the wait staff with the bread & oil along with cleaning the tables are the lifeblood now. Our kids enjoy chatting with them and when they let the kids flip the bowl holding the oil they are heroes in the kids eyes. Even as teenagers they look forward to still being able to do this.
To bad the new wait staff does not share that same personality, they are cold and there for a job not to befriend the customers
My guest and I met here for the 3rd time. The primary reason we go to PIATTI'S is the good food, quiet background and the ambiance/setting. We meet for lunch to do "catch up" several times a year. So a quiet place is nearly as important as the food.
At 11:30 the service was very good because there were just a few patrons. Because we only eat here occasionally, the high cost ($65 for 2, w/o tip) for lunch is not a problem. But we could not do this, say, once or twice a month.
Piatti's will stay on our list because the food and ambiance is unique from the chain restaurants all over town.
We went for my daughter's birthday. We split salad, pasta, and main course.Spinach and ricotta ravioli was terrific with lemon creme sauce. Salad was the special that night - kale with pear, cranberries, pecan & honey balsamic dressing. This was very disappointing - there was no dressing on the salad, the pecans were not toasted. Looked like it had just been thrown together. Veal saltimbocca was good.
They did comp us a Tiramisu for her birthday dessert, which was nice - except neither of us like Tiramisu and it would have been better to have been offered a choice.
I have eaten here twice before & my food was great, all 3 times, ( spinach ravioli), and the arugula salad was yummy, too. But my husband ordered the salmon and specifically asked that it be medium - medium rare. It came out well done. The waiter had told him it would be medium unless he asked otherwise. This was his first dinner @ Piatti’s, so he was not as pleased as the other 3 of us.
