Piatti - Danville Ratings and Reviews
Brussel Sprout Salad very rich.
Arugula Salad little bland. Could use another piece of breaded Goat Cheese to enhance flavor.
Swordfish was a little overseasoned (salty) and a little dry in the center.
Overall, it was very good combined with the atmosphere.
The Lemon Ravioli is the BEST!
As always... Another memorable time at Piatti in Danville! This time it was our mom’s 93rd birthday! From the personalized menu, to the eggs Benedict, from the champagne to the tiramisu... it’s always a fun time. Never hurried, always pampered! Our mom felt like a million dollars on her special day! The food is always delicious & we’ve tried everything from the chicken sandwich to the salmon, the various pizzas & homemade muffins...
We’ve loved Piatti for years. The ambiance is very nice, the service is wonderful and the food is really good. Our family celebrates special occasions here often, but it’s great for dinner & lunch anytime. It’s so nice to walk in and know you’re going to have a lovely time!
Piatti always “punches way above its weight class”. Food and service are always of a caliber you’d expect at a much more expensive restaurant. Their pasta’s are handmade and delicious. Their specials are always creative and excellent. Prices are what they should be, not jacked up to make a point. Though only thing it lacks is an expansive wine list but that would only drive up your check and since you can carry in if you want that special bottle, this is hardly a shortcoming. I guess that’s why it’s always so busy!
We were 2 couples having dinner on a semi-regular basis at various local restaurants. We had not been here for about a year so we decided to get reacquainted. We were really very happy we did. The food, portions, service, menu offerings and friendly staff were all outstandingly good! We'll likely go back well before another year passes!
I had Cream of Mushroom Soup, split an Arugula Salad, Spaghetti & Meatballs and Macerated Strawberries with Balsamic Vinegar and Gelato. The strawberries were a bit tart (out of season) but everything else was 'spot on!'
Vibrant. The food is Delicious and ample in portion. The service is nimble anticipating a need or whim without rushing about. The knowledge of ingredients and beverage accompaniment are played out in a subdued and efficient manner. We left with a smile. You will too.
I was a bit disappointed that when I made the reservation, I believe I indicated that I would like a table by the fireplace. But, when I got there, all of those tables were taken.
Also, two of my dining companions ordered a dish with shrimp, that had not been deveined, which they both commented on.
Disappointing on both counts. But, that is unusual for Piatti!
Excellent service is the hallmark of this restaurant. We had experienced that before, so we went there for a birthday celebration. It turned out just as expected - a relaxing, comfortable evening dinner. Our faith and confidence in this place was validated, once again!
This is a great place. Have had many meals here and hope to have many more. A few things that would make it even better: wild sockeye, maybe Copper River, salmon instead of the farmed. I have no objection to farmed salmon, but the wild ones are much better, a couple more rosé wines on the list, Italian sodas from the bar although the peach tea and lemonade are quite good, ice in the water, maybe an option of dipping sauce or butter for the (very good) bread. All small points, but something they might want to consider. By the way, I really like the choice of portion sizes on some entrees.
I normally love my meals at Piatti, but this last visit was disappointing. It started out great with a plate of yummy breakfast breads on the table to enjoy, a special birthday message on our menus in honor of my girlfriends special day and being very accommodating to a friend that had special dietary needs. Unfortunately there were a couple mistakes where the wrong food and drinks were delivered to our table and my French Toast was overcooked and lacked flavor. I am assuming this experience was just a fluke after having numerous great meals over the past 20 years.
