Piatti - Danville Ratings and Reviews
Went to our favorite restaurant and had another great meal. I always order a Lemon Drop and it is always so delicious. My daughter ordered from the dairy free menu and she loved the pasta with vegetables she had. I had the Mary’s half chicken which was delicious. My husband had the meatloaf and said it was very good. We will keep coming back for sure.
I work for a large corporate and we often have events held at Piatti. On my last visit, we brought 2 visitors from Colombia. The waiter asked where they were from and made a very inappropriate remark: “I’ve heard about Colombia, I watch Narcos”, referring to the Netflix series about drug cartel. Awkward.
The visitors began explaining that Pablo Escobar was a dark stain in their history, but the country has come a long way ever since. We wished they didn’t have to go through this embarrassment.
On the meal service: I am vegan and allergic to dairy. I ordered veggie pizza with no cheese. The waiter made another strange remark, “well, it’s not a pizza, then”. I responded, “it is to me”, and proceeded to order. He was very arrogant. He added I would be “charged accordingly” for the extra onions.
When the food arrived, one of the visitors didn’t receive his meal. Mistakes happen, but the waiter justified as “because your vegan ‘pizza’ was too complicated to explain to the chef’. The waiter blamed me.
We asked for the bill, and we all had our credit cards ready to pay. The waiter never returned to the table to retrieve the credit cards, so we stood up and walked to the front, to look for him. It was a business meal, we wanted to split the cost. One of the credit cards would pay for 2 parts – we provided the instruction, but we were completely ignored. The credit cards were split incorrectly. It was another awkward moment and too uncomfortable to return the credit cards for correction. We just left it as-is.
The lunch turned out to be a 2-hour lunch due to the poor service.
We all walked out of the restaurant apologizing to our visitors for the inappropriate comment, the forgotten order, the delay in collecting the check and the wrong amounts in our credit cards. Very embarrassing!
We brought out of town friends here. Our request on Open Table was for a booth and we were seated in one of our favorite areas in a comfortable booth. The food is always delicious and the menu offers varied dishes. Our server was very attentive and all the staff is friendly and helpful.
A great place for lunch or dinner in The Livery Danville.
Our craving for Italian food and eating outside led us back here. That said, it was a bit too cool for outside.
Service was top shelf. Food was good, bread was awesome. We brought a bottle of red and had a slow meal. Of course at 3:30 there are few others around, but that was nice.
Had a great lunch. My salmon was delicious. The other guests enjoyed their lunch as well. The only negative comment I heard was that there should have been more raviolis on the (spinach and lemon cream) plate; she stated that it was an appetizer; not a lunch portion. She also stated that the lunch entree should have a green salad or something more than 5 raviolis on a plate. That was not good value in her estimation and I tend to agree. Maybe you can up the raviolis with a side dish.....
We ordered pomegranate cosmos and they were very good. The 3 of us, all ladies, decided to do family style and shared a few things. The brussel sprouts with bleu cheese salad was tasty and we enjoyed every last morsel. The spinach ravioli had a light cream sauce and was plenty to share. The ling cod filet was perfectly moist and a perfect healthy choice! Our waiter was very patient and checked on us several times and he understood how to deal with a table of ladies who kept getting side tracked with conversation and forgetting to look at the menu. And to top it off, he overheard our conversation that it was my birthday and surprised me with a candle in a complimentary tiramisu!! A great time at Piatti!
Brussel Sprout Salad very rich.
Arugula Salad little bland. Could use another piece of breaded Goat Cheese to enhance flavor.
Swordfish was a little overseasoned (salty) and a little dry in the center.
Overall, it was very good combined with the atmosphere.
The Lemon Ravioli is the BEST!
As always... Another memorable time at Piatti in Danville! This time it was our mom’s 93rd birthday! From the personalized menu, to the eggs Benedict, from the champagne to the tiramisu... it’s always a fun time. Never hurried, always pampered! Our mom felt like a million dollars on her special day! The food is always delicious & we’ve tried everything from the chicken sandwich to the salmon, the various pizzas & homemade muffins...
We’ve loved Piatti for years. The ambiance is very nice, the service is wonderful and the food is really good. Our family celebrates special occasions here often, but it’s great for dinner & lunch anytime. It’s so nice to walk in and know you’re going to have a lovely time!
Piatti always “punches way above its weight class”. Food and service are always of a caliber you’d expect at a much more expensive restaurant. Their pasta’s are handmade and delicious. Their specials are always creative and excellent. Prices are what they should be, not jacked up to make a point. Though only thing it lacks is an expansive wine list but that would only drive up your check and since you can carry in if you want that special bottle, this is hardly a shortcoming. I guess that’s why it’s always so busy!
We were 2 couples having dinner on a semi-regular basis at various local restaurants. We had not been here for about a year so we decided to get reacquainted. We were really very happy we did. The food, portions, service, menu offerings and friendly staff were all outstandingly good! We'll likely go back well before another year passes!
I had Cream of Mushroom Soup, split an Arugula Salad, Spaghetti & Meatballs and Macerated Strawberries with Balsamic Vinegar and Gelato. The strawberries were a bit tart (out of season) but everything else was 'spot on!'
